About: I have taken care of and raised my families dogs since I could walk! If your dog needs an extra human best friend, look no further! It is the best part of my day! I have a relatively open schedule aside from traveling on occasion. I am very quick at communicating should anything unexpectedly come up. I’m always focused on each pets needs and how I can make them comfortable. I am great with dogs of all sizes and energy levels!
“Julia was so awesome and flexible!! I had some concerns with booking a pet sitter at an apartment complex, but Julia made things go incredibly smooth! Will definitely be using her again.”

“I was worried about having someone watch my temperamental weiner dog. However, Sharon knew exactly how to handle him! She is very knowledgeable and helpful. I feel so at ease knowing he is in good hands when I’m away for work! She is also very personable and easy to talk to. Thank you Sharon!”

“Tyler is a a great gift as my dog sitter. He has helped out tremendously when I was in need of someone to watch my dog Horus. Tyler is one of three people I trust with my dog.”

About: Hi! I’m Robert. I’ve had animals all my life (dogs, cats, fish, lizards, hermit crabs, raised praying mantids and butterflies). I trap and spay/neuter feral cats (TNR), feed birds, planted a pollinator garden in my yard…love nature and appreciate the relationship between humans and animals. My small dog Tyson is 11 or 12 years old and has some special needs (anxiety, hip-problems, blind in one eye, and I am his 3rd owner), so I know patience and compassion when it comes to senior dogs. Two of my cats I’ve had since they were kittens, and the third cat was abandoned by a neighbor and chose me as her new human when they left her. Happy to accommodate your companion’s special needs, and will be honest with you if there is something I don’t feel confident about. I also use two water fountain bowls, so your friend will have access to clean, moving water. I am a bar tender and have been doing that work since 2006, 12 years at my current bar. I work part time there and have a good amount of free-time which I can use to take care of of your dog. I have a large fenced in yard (176 ft of 6ft tall wooden fence) with plenty of shade, water bowls, central air and heating. Pets are free to lounge anywhere in my house, but I do prefer dogs to be crated if I am away for their own safety, and peace of mind for me :) Please let me know if you have any rules you have for your pets at home, feeding schedule, potty-break schedule, etc.
“My pups love Devon! I also foster and she’s up for taking care of 3 dogs if I need her to. She is easy to communicate with, reliable, and provides great care for my pups. Highly recommend!”

“Christina has been awesome spending time to get to know my two dogs, even though one of them is people-phobic. I appreciated her suggestions on ways to try to ensure my little dog takes her medications. She is very caring and enjoyable to work with.”

“Kaitlyn is amazing, simply put. I needed help with my pack of 5 rather quickly and Kaitlyn was expeditious with meeting with me, my fiancé and my pack to support our needs. I have Aussies and on top of being high energy, they each have different personalities and individual needs. Kaitlyn took to them like she’s known them forever, and they absolutely adore her! One is afraid of night time and rarely will go outside for bedtime potty breaks and Kaitlyn was successful in working with her to overcome her fear in Kaitlyn’s care. One of my boys had a slight emergency on her first evening with us and she was very quick to communicate with me, trouble shoot, and resolve the issue! Her experience with animals, professionalism, and knowledge show throughout her care and my babies are grateful to her. I will forever highly recommend Kaitlyn to anyone who is searching for someone to care for and love on their fur babies.”

“Maura was wonderful. She was so attentive and sent amazing pictures. She’s reliable and has amazing communication. I will absolutely be using her in the future and I recommend her 100%!”

“Jordan did a great job taking care of our two fussy cats during a very crazy week of winter storms. If you want somebody who really understands how to take of cats, he’s your guy!”

“Erica was amazing! We set up a meet and greet and our cat is very selective of who he immediately goes up to and he wasted no time meeting her. We were able to enjoy our trip and not worry at all if our cat was cared for and well taken care of! Will be using her again! We really appreciated the amount of pictures she sent us.”

“Alicia has been incredible since I’ve gotten my first puppy. She’s helped ease so much of my stress and has gone above and beyond. My pup definitely loves her and misses her when she’s gone.”

“Erin was great. Timely, great photo updates, and no news to report. Will definitely be reaching out to her again! That was the first time using Rover, and first time leaving my dog for a full weekend without a family member, and all went well!”

“Nicole was very responsive and able to come meet me and our dog on a very short notice. She was great with our dog right away and we felt comfortable having her come over to spend time with our dog. She was amazing and very communicative throughout the weekend. I would highly recommend her and we look forward to having her watch our dog again!”

“Tyler helped us for a drop in visit with our 12 week old puppy! He was very attentive. We had a video call before hand to go over all instructions. I would definitely book him again!”

About: I have a great atmosphere for dogs and cats to hang out and play. When it's not snowing we have a big back yard to play but when it's cold, my dogs and cat love to hang out inside. We are a military family and have traveled around the country with all our animals during our journey. We love to go walking, hiking and taking adventures as a family. When boarding, we don't just watch your pup, they become part of the family. We do two to three walks a day depending on weather. Distance is based on the animal. Shorter legs means less walking, longer legs means more walking faster pace. During walks, we try to work on pulling, barking or jumping to other dogs and try to just have fun. Our kids love to throw the ball and run around with the dogs in our yard! We have experience with diabetic and blind doggies as well. I currently work full time and able to do walks in the evenings during the week and through the days on the weekends. I enjoy the walks and your pups will too. I have a fence in back yard big enough for dogs to run around. My home is in a great neighborhood and nothing to be worried about. Within my home, I will make sure all animals are safe.
“Leah took the best care of my two fur babies! She fed them and played with them during her drop in visits everyday! Love the photo updates! StinkerBelle and Josey were happy (and Josey doesn’t come out for anyone — she came out for Leah!). Thank you!!! ?”

“Nanci was a great sitter for my cat while I was out of town. She kept my cat well-fed and kept her water and litter box clean, and sent photos of my kitty each day. She was very responsive and easy to work with. I would use her services again.”

She was absolutely wonderful! She was so helpful, friendly, and informative, and took the time to explain everything so well. I felt comfortable knowing my dog was in such good hands. She was great with my dog, and I really appreciated how caring and attentive she was. I would definitely recommend her and would happily use her again!

This was the first time ever that I didn't have a family member or a friend stop in and take care of my six cats while I was out of town. Jordan T. did such a great job. He came every day after work hours and scooped boxes, refilled water in two locations, filled dry food when needed, gave cat treats and gave wet food to six cats! I received pictures every day and had great communication from him. There was one day he wasn't going to be able to come at the same time as the other days due to a personal appointment. He sent me a message and asked if I wanted him to come earlier or a little later than he was normally coming. I appreciated the ask! My 6 cats were very content when I returned home from my week long vacation. I'll definitely use him again. It was great not having to worry about them while I was gone!

We are really thankful to Alicia for taking such great care of our precious boy. She followed the provided instructions really well and it's clear that she is very passionate about animals and her profession, and she's very professional and personable. We would certainly recommend her services to others and would utilize them in our future need as well.

Stars aligned in us finding Nanci when we needed a last-minute sitter for our vacation. Her experience with not only anxious rescue dogs, but specifically hounds, allowed us to leave for our trip knowing Kali would be in the hands of someone who understood her idiosyncrasies. Nanci was timely with each visit, provided updates and photos each day, and even got Kali to go on a daily walk (which is sometimes even a feat for us). We will definitely use Nanci for future pet sitting needs!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
