“James was fantastic with our cats. He had thoughtful questions prior to us being away, and was really communicative during our time away. He went above and beyond when we had a sensor issue with our Simplisafe alarm system.”

“Absolutely great! Helped us out on short notice, went with the flow for our senior dogs extra needs, and took great care of our boys! Thank you, we will be returning clients.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our boys receive with TJ! He is reliable, kind and clearly loves treating our pups like they are his own! He cares to understand our boys personalities and keep us updated after every walk. His report cards are personal, funny and so well written! It’s very reassuring to know our babies are in such great hands! I’m afraid our dogs might start loving TJ more than us!”

“Kristi did a great job taking care of our colony--7 cats--which is a tall task. She fed them, cleaned out the litter, picked up some barf/hairballs, gave them treats, and generally took care of everything we needed for the cats while we were away. She provided updates on all the cats, including any health/behavioral details that might be concerning. She sent us photos (of the ones that weren't hiding) which was very reassuring. The cats seemed to enjoy getting attention from her as well. We'll for sure have Kristi come by again next time we're out of town.”

“Melissa did a great job. She spent time playing with my cats and ensuring they were doing well. She was punctual and payed attention to details. I will definitely hire her again.”

About: I've loved cats my whole life! I have three cats of my own, and have fostered almost a hundred cats through the Cleveland APL. I have experience with all ages and temperaments, from friendly kittens to shy adults. I am able to tell when a cat wants attention, and work with cats who need a little bit more space to feel confident. I am able to give pills, eyedrops, and other medications to cats as needed. I can recognize changes in behaviors and alert pet owners when something seems concerning. My experience doesn't end with cats! I've owned rats, mice and hamsters and understand the importance of having someone experienced with small animals to watch them. Your small pets will receive the same high quality of care. I'm a remote worker so I have plenty of time for drop in visits as needed! My schedule is flexible, and I want to make sure your pets are as comfortable as possible. I'm excited to care for your pets in your home. I am very careful around doors to the home, as I know how quickly pets can escape. I will follow your instructions closely to keep their daily routine as close to normal as possible.
“Emily was a fantastic sitter! She went above and beyond for our dog and was willing to add on another booking at the last minute. We will certainly be utilizing her again in the future. Thanks Emily!”

About: I noticed I’m always offering to take care of everyone’s pets in my personal life (HUGE animal lover) so I figured it’s time to join Rover. I’ve taken care of other pet owners cats, dogs, and rabbits in the past. I’ve had cats, dogs, and rabbits as pets as well as hamsters, goats, ducks, and fish growing up. I grew up in a small town in Ohio and my grandparents had a farm so I was around farm animals often. I don’t currently have any pets of my own as I work 10 hour shifts 4 days a week (nurse) so I would absolutely LOVE to watch and walk your pets whenever I’m not at work! Since I work long hours and am not in a good position to get a pet of my own at this time, I would love nothing more than to share the love with your pet(s). I do have a full time job but I’m available on weekends and evenings after approximately 6:30pm (perfect time for walks!). I also have one off day during the week that rotates. I do not have any pets of my own so your pet would have my full attention (also a plus if your pet does not get along well with other pets).
“Erin was great. Timely, great photo updates, and no news to report. Will definitely be reaching out to her again! That was the first time using Rover, and first time leaving my dog for a full weekend without a family member, and all went well!”

About: I have grown up with a dog in my house since I was born. I have taken care of neighbors and friends dogs while they have went on vacation or just out of town for work. Since moving away for college and now graduate school, I am looking for my dog fix since I cannot own one myself With the summer starting and vacations coming up I will do my best to be available for your dogs. I do have other responsibilities such as school and work but I am always 100% with my clients if I will be a good fit for the stay/drop or not. If you are looking to book with me but see my availability is different then what you’re looking for, please still send me a message and I will do my best to accommodate to make it work! Since I am not able to host dogs at my current place of residence, this will allow the dog to feel more comfortable with a stranger coming to take care of them while the owners are away for however long. I will adjust to their routine so they hardly notice the owners are gone. They will receive all the belly rubs and love they could ask for until their owner returns home
About: I grew up with dogs, including one who was basically my brother for a full decade. He was my best buddy, and through him I learned all the basics of loving and consistent pet care. More recently for our second pup, I was my mom’s go-to pet care person while she was at work. I handled long walks, feedings, grooming, and the insane demand a border collie has for playtime. (Really, she’s crazy.) While I’m new to Rover, I’m not new to caring deeply about animals. I’m deeply attentive to animal’s comfort and routine. Your fur baby is in safe, organized, loving hands. ♡ I know how important it is to have someone you trust watching over your little family members. I am currently working full time monday through friday, I'm available any time after 4pm weekdays. I am completely available any time on the weekends! I bring a calm nurturing energy to every home, paired with a very type A, virgo rising brain (๑•̀ᴗ-). Your baby will always be safe and loved. I’m organized to the core and communicate clearly with you the whole time. Your pet and I are gonna be besties !!
“Tyler helped us for a drop in visit with our 12 week old puppy! He was very attentive. We had a video call before hand to go over all instructions. I would definitely book him again!”

“Alex was excellent!! Our doggo loved having her there. She was extremely communicative and I loved receiving the pictures of her visit. I will 100% rebook Alex in the future.”

“Caitlin provided excellent help checking in on our dog Maple for a week while we were busy. She provided daily pictures and updates so that we were sure that Maple was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Caitlin as a dog-sitter for anyone that needs one. Thank you Caitlin!!!”

“Trish is wonderful with our 13-year old yellow lab, Emma. Emma is on various medications and requires some special care. Trish has her figured out perfectly. Highly recommend!”

She was great my cat that just had dental surgery. It was the first time we have left him since bringing him in three months ago. She kept me up to-date and even called me to let me know we had a water leak. I would 100 percent recommend to anyone looking for a sitter and will definitely be using again. Julius was comfortable and enjoyed his visits
Mitchell is a fantastic sitter and was absolutely amazing with my cat while I was out of town for a few days. I received updates every day of the two of them playing and having fun together. Mitchell is very attentative and goes above and beyond to make sure all of your care instructions are followed. I'll always consider Mitchell for pet sitting with future trips.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
