“Jessica was so kind to our (somewhat difficult) beagle and calmed all our nerves while we were away. She sent great updates and pictures. We were very very appreciative of how kind and thoughtful she was to our dog!”
“Robert watched Mia at his house overnight for a few nights. He has a great fenced in backyard, perfect for our pup to run and stretch her legs. Mia came back happy and tired out from her running vacation ? We would definitely use Robert again!”

“Thank you Rachel for taking care of our Luke! Luke is a beagle mix who is quite a handful but got along well with all of her dogs. Wish I could give a few extra stars!”

“This is the first time I've ever had to leave Stewart with someone other than a family member. Needless to say I was very stressed but Stewart did just fine and met new friends! I received daily pics and was starting to wonder if he wanted to come back home, lol! Thank you Leonard and family for taking such good care of Stewart as if he was part of your family! Until next time! Stewart's parents!”

“always a great experience! I was so worried that my dog might not feel comfortable after not being by himself for so long but Rosa and her family made sure that’s not a worry once again”

“Carla and her family are incredible! I was in Cleveland for work and unexpectedly needed a dog sitter She was super helpful and understanding. She took my dog for walks every day, even though she barks at every cat or dog she sees when she’s on walks She sent me videos and updates without me having to even ask. I’ve never had a dog sitter before so I was kind of nervous about texting everyday because I didn’t want to be annoying, she willingly sent me updates and even offered to allow me to come visit when I miss her. I definitely recommend! Five stars”

“We were nervous for our first time having a dog sitter for our pup, but Christina was great! Very communicative and our little guy was well taken care of. I’d recommend her for sure.”

“Amanda was very responsive, respectful, and understanding. Unfortunately, my pup started showing some unexpected behavioral issues we hadn’t seen before, which led to ending the stay earlier than planned. Amanda quickly notified us and followed our instructions to ensure everyone stayed safe until we arrived for pickup.”

“Christine is by far the best person you can trust with your furrchild. My husband and I went on our first vacation and were super nervous to leave our 8 month old diabetic puppy anywhere since most boarding facilities are not 24 hour operated. I knew I would stress the entire time if our puppy would be alright. There was a chance her sugar would drop and there would be no staff at the facility. I found Christine and knew instantly she was the perfect fit! Right off the bat she was on the floor loving on our pup who instantly returned the love too. She loved meeting new puppy friends and had Christine's sweet kids to love her too! Christine was able to check my pups sugar and give her insulin also and was super comfortable with learning which helped my anxiety a ton also! While we were away we got adorable pictures and updates that helped our vacation go smooth! I can't thank you enough Christine and family!!!!”

“We’re really happy with Debra and how she handled everything for our dog while we were out of town. We arranged for a meetup before the stay to ensure this would be a good match. When I dropped off our dog there was an introduction to the other pets in her home so our pup could get acclimated. While we were away we received daily updates with photos and it looked like our pup was having a great time. Thanks for taking good care and we look forward to scheduling with you again!”

“Margaret is amazing! Great communication, and lots of photos showing my pup was having a great time! You can tell Margaret really cares and treated her as one of her own! Highly recommend! 5 Stars!”

“Eric & Polly were great with Nyx and sent us lots of updates. They were also super responsive. She seemed confortable with them by the time we picked her up. Thank you!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Strongsville
This family is unbelievably special. My Lil guy has such bad anxiety an always wants me when I pick him up. He was actually trying to get out the window of the car to go with them. They took such good care of him an me an took my needs also into consideration. I dont get this allot from my own friends an family so I appreciate them an recommend them to anyone. My Chip had so much fun He came home are an went to sleep for 12 hrs. They gave him love an attention he prob forgot about me lol!! Such a blessing knowing there are still good just family oriented people still in this neighborhood. I can talk all day about this family. They all came together an truly blessed me for knowing them. Thank you for all you did for me an Chip.

We can't say enough good things about Morgan and her husband! They went above and beyond for our dog, Sora. Not only did they make him feel right at home, but they also kept us updated with frequent pictures and messages that truly helped ease our minds. It was so comforting to see how happy and relaxed Sora was in their care. It's clear they have a genuine love for what they do. We're so grateful to have found such a caring and reliable sitter and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the best care for their pup.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
