About: I’ve been around all sorts of furry friends, flighty friends, and the scaley ones ect. The love and passion I have has always set me aside from most and I’ve also gathered many different experiences in the animal care field. In my growing path, I’ve worked for the Lorain County Metroparks multiple times and have been volunteering with animals since the age of 16! Pet care fits great into my daily routine due to my part-time career currently and my passion for the animal care field!! I also have 5+ years of animal handling experience/ dieting❤️ I have a fenced in yard all around and also pay attention to daily behaviors and movements. Also prioritize outdoor time and play time as well.
“So thankful to have Kaleigh take care of our pets. Such a relief to have some one so nice and trustworthy with them!! Excellent each time she comes!!! Thank you Kaleigh!!!”

“Julia was so awesome and flexible!! I had some concerns with booking a pet sitter at an apartment complex, but Julia made things go incredibly smooth! Will definitely be using her again.”

“Stephanie is amazing with our 2 cats! We are repeat clients of Stephanie because we know she will take great care of the boys, send pictures and give us updates. Our one cat does not like many people but he does like her which is awesome! :) We would 100% recommend Stephanie if you need someone to watch your fur babies while away. We will surely be requesting her for more drop in visits in the future!”

“truly can't say enough wonderful things about Marissa! From the moment she came over before our trip to meet our dogs and learn their routine, we knew they were going to be in great hands. She treated our puppies like they were her own. Every drop-in was right on time, and she always sent updates with pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. What really sets Marissa apart is how she handled an unexpected emergency. During the hottest week of the summer, our air conditioner stopped working with only 24 hours left in our trip. As soon as she noticed the house was getting too warm, she contacted us immediately. She went above and beyond, helping us troubleshoot the issue from a distance and refusing to leave our dogs alone until she knew they were safe. She even helped get the downstairs temperature back to 76 degrees. When she realized the upstairs was still much too hot for the dogs to be crated overnight, she didn't hesitate to offer to spend the night with them—without us even asking. That level of care, compassion, and dedication is something you simply can't teach. Knowing she was there with our dogs allowed us to relax, even though we were so far from home. She did an amazing job caring for both of our pups—our 150-pound lap dog and our demanding little pitty! They absolutely adored her, and it's obvious she genuinely loves the animals she cares for. If you're looking for someone who is dependable, caring, communicative, and willing to go above and beyond, Marissa is the one. We will absolutely be using her again, even for short day trips. Thank you, Marissa, for taking such incredible care of our babies. We are beyond grateful!”

About: I have had dogs in my house my whole life, and for the past few years, I have been dog-sitting for numerous families for long periods of time. I am equipped to walk, let out, feed, administer medications, play, and take care of any other needs your dog may have. I work as a caregiver on Saturdays and Sundays for 6 hours each day, but otherwise, I can spend the rest of my time with your pup. I make it a priority to get any instructions my clients may have regarding their pup and make sure to follow them. I also make sure that I am always in earshot when in the home with the dog so that if anything happens, I can quickly act.

About: I have always had a dog since a was a small child. As I became an adult my own children and I got two dogs, Milo and Leo. I also volunteer at the APL and foster dogs and puppies often. On top of this, I have dogsit for family several times. Dogs ranging from Schnauzer to Siberian husky in size! Most importantly, my dogs both foster and owned are apart of our family and I would love to extend our family to your fur babies! I wake up and get let out, fed, and get some loving before work. I work as a teacher 7 to 4. Once home the dogs get let out and often get time to sit on the front porch and play before dinner. I have a fenced in yard at our home. At your home I will listen and follow to the details listed to keep your dog safe while at your home.

“Shadia is very attentive and highly communicative! I left home knowing my cats were in excellent hands! She sent daily photos and kept us updated. She’s punctual, reliable and also thinks about the little things I never thought to ask about. She made our short vacation stress free!”

About: I've been an animal lover my entire life and have experience caring for pets of all shapes and sizes. I've owned dogs of all breeds and sizes over the years, and currently share my home with my five-year-old Boxer, Olly. Olly has multiple allergies and follows a strict homemade diet, so I understand the importance of sticking to special diets, medication schedules, and individualized care. I know every pet has unique needs, and I'm happy to provide the extra patience and attention they deserve. Rain, snow, or sunshine, walks and playtime are always part of our routine! I've also discovered that I'm quite the cat lover. We adopted our cat, Dodger, a little over a year ago, and he has completely stolen our hearts. Whether your cat loves to play or prefers a quiet companion, I'm happy to give them the care and affection they need while you're away. In addition to dogs and cats, I'm comfortable caring for reptiles and small mammals too—just please, no tarantulas! I treat every pet as if they were my own because I know they're family. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to provide reliable care throughout the week. Whether you need regular walks, drop-in visits, or care while you're away, I'll do my best to accommodate your schedule. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, so I make communication a priority. I'll send updates, photos, and plenty of tail-wagging (or purring!) moments so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. When caring for your pet in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I'll follow your instructions carefully, whether that means feeding schedules, medications, potty breaks, walks, playtime, or plenty of belly rubs. I understand that every pet has their own personality and preferences. I'll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I'll also treat your home with the same respect I would my own. I'll keep things clean and tidy, lock doors and make sure your pet is safe before I leave.
“Brittany was great at communicating with me, especially because my cat is antisocial. I didn’t anticipate Brittany seeing her so she let me know that the food and water were being consumed and she was using the litter box. It made my travels much easier! I’d book with Brittany again.”

“Susan took wonderful care of our Belgian Malinois, Lucy, while we were away. Anyone familiar with the breed knows they require an experienced, attentive, and caring person, and Susan gave us complete confidence that Lucy was in good hands. She kept us updated, made sure Lucy was well cared for, and gave us real peace of mind throughout our trip. Knowing Lucy was safe and happy allowed us to relax and enjoy being away. We couldn’t be happier with the care Susan provided. She is reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their pet. Thank you, Susan, for taking such great care of Lucy!”

“I really appreciate you stopping over and taking care of Murphy! Gabrielle checked in when she got there, gave him time to go to the bathroom, walked him and made sure he had water. My dog vomited once before she got there and she cleaned it up and even took a picture so I could know what was going on. I would definitely use Gabrielle again!”

About: I’ve owned and taken care of dogs and cats for most of my life. My life has been enriched by caring for kittens, puppies, adults, and seniors. I’ve given pills and eye drops to both cats and dogs. I love playing with cats and dogs and seeing them happy! It would be an honor to care for your pet. I’m the owner/operator of a new pet transportation business and have taken care of puppies during 200+ mile trips. This includes giving them water and food, cleaning them and their crate up (if they got carsick ☹️), sitting with them on breaks while they roamed the back of my SUV, and snuggles. I am excited to take care of fur babies at your home or mine! I have two cats of my own, a calico (7 yrs old) and a Siamese mix (6 yrs old), and they are amazing! 😻 I have a fenced in backyard and swimming pool (which can also be fenced off if desired by pet parent). I can feed, water, do short walks, and give medicine or eye drops (to compliant pets). I have 2 cats and am happy to provide care to cat friendly dogs at my home or I can come to yours. “Bailey is so sweet and I am so happy I found her. This was my first time using Bailey and she most definitely met my expectations. She came MUCH earlier than I would have expected for the AM feeding as I usually go to work very early and feed the pets very early and she was indeed VERY early for the AM feeding of the pets. THANK YOU Bailey! I highly recommend her to anybody that is seeking a very reliable/honest person that would be in contact with you if need be which is important to me. I look forward to using Bailey again and appreciate her taking care of my pets. Lastly, I think Rover can be deceiving in part as the name leans toward caring for dogs. Bailey was taking care of my cats and it was perfect.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
