“Esmerilda is an absolutely fantastic person and cares immensely for our dog. She has been our weekly dog walker for a little over 6 months--Our dog is a rescue and was quite difficult in the beginning, but Esmerilda has done a lot to help train and rehabilitate her. She also has done house sitting for us. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone who needs help with their dogs.”

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats most of my life and love spending time with animals! I co-own a 4-year-old Old English Sheepdog who lives with my grandma, and I’ve had pets since I was about 12, so I’m very comfortable with daily care, routines, and all kinds of personalities. For the past 5 years, I’ve regularly helped friends and family with drop-ins and house sitting including longer stays. I really enjoy getting to know each pet and making sure they feel happy, relaxed, and cared for while their owners are away! I’m a recent college grad currently looking for a job, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m available most days, including weekends. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting, and I always do my best to keep pets on their normal routine and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m very mindful of home care and safety making sure doors, gates, and anything else is secure, and keeping your home clean and respected while you’re away.
“Jessica was great with our large dog who is a strong puller. She handled her well and gave great updates to put our minds at ease while we were away on a trip. She also adapted to some last minute scheduling shifts we had to make. We will definitely use Jessica again and would recommend her to our friends.”

About: I have a wide range of dog experience. Puppies, seniors, reactive, and medicated ones. I am fear free certified and have taken many animal classes and animal behavior classes for my animal science major. Outside of a classroom setting I have worked in a shelter where I was a medical volunteer. This required me to work with dogs that I had no insight to a lot of the dog’s background and always stayed aware of their behavior. A lot of the bigger dogs I worked with were abused, abandoned, or injured and having to work with animals that have trauma like that is heartbreaking but also can affect their behavior towards people. That being said I had to work with dogs that were more challenging and more often than not were labeled aggressive but were actually just scared. I have house sat friends and families before and always send an absurd amount of photos to owners of their fur baby (that’s at least what I prefer) and I have no problem communicating any uncertainties, questions, or concerns to an owner. I would rather be safe than sorry always. I do not have a lot of senior care experience but would love to learn. I took care of a few cases where there were medications twice daily but I know there are more extreme senior care situations I won’t pretend to know how to do but I am eager to do my research and learn from the owner! Fairly flexible. I am a full time student at UC Davis but I have a schedule that can accommodate a lot of needs. The only thing I have no power over is when I have my finals but I will be on top of my calendar and availability I take the better safe than sorry approach when caring for any pet whether it is someone else’s or my own. I will do my research on something I am unsure about which is the reason I have learned so much about my own pet’s compromised immune system. This is why I will not be housing any pets myself but I have practiced many different bio security measures and feel confident all animals will be safe and happy. I am a big communicator and if I have concerns questions or uncertainties I will not hesitate to just ask.
About: I've cared for animals of all kinds including dogs, cats, horses, chickens, cows, goats, pigs etc. for 16 years. I have been with companies, vet clinics, and more working with animals as well as doing free lance work. I am passionate, reliable, hard working, and loving toward all animals. I am patient and have been trusted with people's pets for many years now to provide the best care as if they were my own! I am a very organized individual who likes to keep to a schedule! I attend UC Davis as a pre-vet student majoring in animal science so I am always involved with animals both academically and in the field. Once you book a date with me I will not forget it! I like to keep everything on my calendar, so pet care fits in free time between classes, on weekends, and especially on breaks from school! It is a break from the rigor of university to spend time with pets so when I say I give them the best care, I mean it! When a pup stays at my home I treat them as my own! When I stay at your home I will be sure to come in with a "bring in, bring out" policy. I will be there solely for your pets care, not to use your home for any other reason than to provide care for your loved ones.
About: I’ve always loved animals of all kinds. Insects, reptiles, rats, especially cats and dogs. I’ve also volunteered at the ASPCA for a year! I have experience with almost all animals, and I’d love to help take care of yours! I take care of two pets of my own, but currently don’t have a stable job. My days are open! Might as well do what I love and get payed for it. XD I have a calm smaller dog, and a cat who LOVES dogs (she’s strange I know). I live right next to a huge park and walking trail.
“This girl came through big time!! Was available at short notice, was willing to work with my spazy dog and was so nice, sweet and very easy to communicate with. My dog got everything he needed bc of her while I was on an important trip to see family.I’m very grateful!! 💛”

About: I’ve grown up in a dog family my whole life, including labs, pit bulls, Jack Russell Terriers, Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, Great Pyrenees, and German Shorthaired Pointers. In the past 10 years living in a rural area, I’ve house-sat for neighbors and friends, watching over their dogs, cats, chickens, cows, goats, and horses. The dogs I’ve cared for ranged from puppy to senior age. I also worked as a vet technician assistant in Redding, Ca, where I gained experience caring for dogs and cats recovering from injuries, surgeries, and illnesses. I am a senior student at UC Davis, so I have a flexible schedule during the week and weekends to house-sit and dog walk. I am available for daily dog walking, and am available to set up a schedule that works best for you. I do not currently have any pets while I’m in college, so I would love to care for your pets in Davis. For house-sitting jobs, I would meet you to discuss procedures of care and other daily tasks to be completed at the house and have introductions with your pet. For dog-walking, we can discuss a schedule or one-time walk. I can ensure punctual attendance and quality walks with your pet.

About: A former UC Davis graduate. I’ve taken care of dogs all my life. I also have availability on weekends on a need to need basis. I’m ready and willing to spend as much time as your pets need. I wouldn’t be able to take care of pets in my own home but can do whatever is needed in their homes. About: I always wanted to have a dog but my current situation does not allow me to do so easily. Thanks to Rover so that I can play with your dog while you need someone to take him or her for a walk. : ) Um.... should I mention I'm currently a UC Davis student with no criminal record? Oh! And I personally have two cats. I am currently a student at UC Davis and usually free during early morning, lunch, or evenings. I can drop by multiple times a day. All fur babies need love and attention. Even though we don’t speak our pets’ languages, they can feel the love from us ❤️ it’s that simple
“It is so heartening to know that the pups were getting some quality time out of the house while we’re away. Thanks Carmen for your professionalism, it is plain the dogs enjoyed the company! Paul”
