About: I have 4 dogs. I always stay behind on family vacations to watch them. I also make sure that they are fed on time, taking care of their medical needs and always put their needs before mine. I don't see dogs as pets but as part of the family. I work part-time at the best Western on Benicia. I at the moment only work afternoon/ evening shifts. So I always get up 5 am every day making sure I get my dogs needs fulfilled before mine. I have a lot of free time in the morning since I take online course at solano community college. I have a fenced in yard. My dogs were not socialized with other dogs in their puppy years. Because of that I always make sure of my surroundings at all times. I also understand breed bias as well since 1 of them is a Rottweiler german shepherd mixed. Again I always make sure that I treat dogs that I take care of as if they were mine.
About: I have had pets all my life and have a special way with many animals. From tiring out restless pups through play so they can settle in their doghouses, to gaining the trust of the sassiest cats, my patience and kindness towards all animals has gained me the favor of friends and family to care for their pets. I am currently a full time student, so my availability throughout the week can vary. Despite this I find myself to have my afternoons and evenings mostly free. Additionally, my weekends will be free most weeks. In a cliients home, I would do my best to respect the environment and the pets space. Not surprising the pet or adjusting things from their usual place, like food or water bowls, to show I am not here to change pet routines but just to help them along. Additionally, gaining trust on walks and setting firm boundaries with the pet to keep myself and the pet safe when out and about.

“If you get the opportunity to book any service with Maikala, JUMP ON IT!! She was an overnight house/pet sitter for our 2 senior doggies for two weeks and I can't tell you the relief I felt after our meet & greet knowing our fur babies and house were in such EXCELLENT hands the whole 2 weeks we were away. One of our dogs is basically blind and deaf, both need daily oral meds, and the other one needs eye drops 3x/day. She handled all of that with ease on top of giving our pups lots of snuggles, walks and love. I'm pretty sure they were bummed to see us come home and her leave them (kidding, not kidding). She also sent videos, photos, and check-in texts throughout our vacation to continue to give us peace of mind. When an issue came up with the dogs getting into a little scuffle, she calmly handled the situation and appropriately contacted me; I appreciated her judgment in the moment. On top of all this, Maikala also took care of our fish, turtles, plants, garbage, mail and even unloaded our Instacart grocery bags on our last day away so we would have food when we got home! She is kind and trustworthy, warm yet professional. You can tell she really desires to provide the best care she can.
