“Mandisa took great care of our little terrier, Luna (who can be a handful some times). I especially appreciated her responsiveness and professionalism throughout the process, which provided such peace of mind, and the notes she left afterward, which were super helpful for managing an issue Luna's been having lately, where she gets so excited by the neighborhood cats that she forgets to potty when you take her outside. Ah, terriers. We look forward to booking with Mandisa agin.”

“I returned to find my cat 20-25% less petty and vindictive than when I have returned from trips with an average sitter. No shredded shoes, no "draping" on the litter-box. Daniel does sitting well.”

“We couldn’t be more thankful for Suzy who came in on an extremely short notice situation when our normal sitter wasn’t able to make it. She was amazing with our puppy and just an amazing person and a truly nice and caring addition to our puppies small little world. We will most certainly be having her back into our home to take care of our little guy diesel. We are so looking forward to booking with Suzy again and wish we could give her six stars. Also her communication was excellent within five minutes of submitting a request she called and we talked on the phone and she made me feel comfortable and safe with her in our home and with our fur baby.”

About: Over the last few years I've become my friends, and friends of friends, go to person for pet care! I've always loved animals and grew up with pups in the home. During COVID I started sitting for friends and colleagues of mine who had to return to the office. My flexible WFH schedule gives me plenty of time to go on walks, feeding, and of course play. I also have a pup of my own and am comfortable working with puppies. I work remotely so my schedule is extremely flexible! Here is a rough idea of my schedule, although there is definitely room to move things around: open Mondays, Tuesday’s early morning , open Fri-Sun. I treat every pet that I am with as if they were my own! Every pet has different needs and I pride my myself on noting the needs of each one that is in my care. I always ask owners about house rules as well as their pets like and dislikes so I can make sure I'm keeping them safe and happy. As a pet owner myself, I only hope to give the owners the peace of mind knowing their pet is getting the best care and attention!
“Kaja was wonderful! This is our first time using Rover, and from the moment we met Kaja we knew she’d be a good fit. Our dogs (and kids) both took to her, and Kaja has a very calm & warm presence. She took out or trash & recycling on pick up day, and we hadn’t even asked. We were gone for seven days, and over that time we received a few photos and updates of our pups, and returned home to a clean house and two happy dogs. Thank you so much Kaja! We didn’t worry for a second and were able to relax and enjoy our vacation. We will definitely book with Kaja in the future.”
“Tania did a great job taking care of our senior pup who suffers from separation anxiety and doesn’t like to take her meds. Tania was prompt, easy to communicate with before and during her stay, sent lots of pictures, and left our house immaculate. We will definitely use her again.”

About: Small or large, reactive or secure, your dog will feel at home with me. For the last 10+ years I have been pet sitting and walking my neighbor's pets and this summer I'd like to expand my reach to the rest of the East Bay. In the last year or so I have picked up some dog training, and I would be happy to incorporate some of this training into my walks with your pup. About: I am a loving and friendly dog sitter! I grew up with two dogs, a poodle and a Chihuahua. My family currently has a bull terrier that I love very much. I also take care of my best friend's dog when she is out of town. I love dogs and going on walks so this combination is perfect for me. I am currently a nanny to one of nephews as needed but I am free every day during the summer to take care of your furry babies. I make sure I read their cues of needing water/food, when they need to pee/poop, when they're overstimulated, stressed, or happy. I also make sure to pet them and show them love by scratching them, patting them, and rubbing them. I also follow any schedule that is given to me to make sure they stick to their normal routine.
“Irina is truly wonderful, she takes great care in taking proper care with your pets and home while we were away for 2 weeks. I had a big concern because I didn’t have a good experience with a previous sitter and my dog needed extra attention for her mobility. Irina was up for the job, and I felt at ease and felt I could enjoy my trip without worry! Would definitely recommend, and I would book her again :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bayview-Montalvin
Suzy was such a blessing. She came on short notice and took excellent care of our dogs. One of them experienced a health issue while we were gone and Suzy helped us navigate the issue keeping us updated and reassured and helped to resolve the issue. I didn’t worry because Suzy was taking such good care. She gave lots of updates and sent little videos and pictures. We are very grateful.

We joined Rover hoping to connect with someone who is kind, responsible, caring about animals and above all, patient, who we could forge a relationship with that would be durable for the long-term. Ikeena has all of these qualities. As a family that travels regularly, whose family and friends have generally all grown-out of the idea of a week at our place as a mini-getaway, we are so thrilled to have connected with her. We got to know each other over zoom and some schedule walks and impromptu hellos and Ikeena dealt with our nerves of building trust with aplomb. Never were we made to feel silly for wanting to meet again or another walk or for having a several pages long doc about staying at our house and caring for our sweet little brown boy, Chicks. During her recent stay here we barely worried about a thing. Ikeena kept in touch with us regularly and Chicks seriously enjoyed being not just cared for, but spoiled by her. She went above and beyond!

Sierra has been fantastic. My return home was delayed by inclement weather and I was so stressed about the wellbeing of my dog. Sierra was a huge help, fitting in extra check-ins last minute, and doing so much to keep Winnie safe and sound as I scrambled to get home from out of state. Her efforts and updates helped me feel less anxious.

Mason and Alex were super flexible and helped us on a last minute sitting request. They were very friendly and supportive with our senior dog care plan. We came home to happy dogs and kitty as well as a clean home. They also kept us updated with daily check ins and photos. We recommend them for future house sitting requests.

We had the pleasure of working with Teresa (Tess) recently for house sitting. Starting from the meet and greet, Tess was really professional. She inquired about all the necessary details and was open to learning about our dog’s behavior and how to operate the e collar and remote. She even walked with our dog with us during the meet and greet. We loved that she had experience sitting a cane corso, as our dog is also a mastiff. During the house/dog sit, Tess walked our dog 2 times a day, sometimes more and provided extended walks. She sent us 2 updates a day with pics. She fed our dog the home made food we provided her, which required defrosting and heating up in the microwave. She was communicative when she had questions about our dog’s behavior. I’m so happy she did because we were able to explain that that the asked about behavior was playful and she had energy to let out in the backyard. Tess also was tested with a lot of wild life like possums, skunks, squirrels and cats on the walk, she handled all scenarios like a pro and kept all animals safe. She gave Guava cuddles and attention when our dog asked for it :) I highly recommend Tess and will continue booking services with her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 7,845 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bayview-Montalvin. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bayview-Montalvin walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bayview-Montalvin maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bayview-Montalvin choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bayview-Montalvin. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
