“Patricia is a wonderful caretaker for our large dog. She is kind, attentive, and incredibly respectful. She communicates beautifully and sends lovely pictures when we are away. I recommend her highly!”

“Vivian, was thoughtful,, reliable and resourceful on a long house-sit with our two dogs (who are an absolute handful) and sweet kitty. Especially love how she stayed in touch and sent lots of pics. Can't wait to book her again.”

“Eliana is fantastic. We had a change in plans at the last minute and she was very flexible. She kept us updated and sent Photos throughout the time she was taking care of our dog. Our dog is a bit quirky to say the least, and she took care of him very well… And to top it off, our house was cleaner than when we left. I highly recommend Eliana!”

“Wonderful! We met and my nervous dog immediately ran in for butt scratches and snuggles. He is a very shy dog. Needless to say, we hired on the spot. Nobody ever passes the vibe check so well. Very courteous about photos and walk updates. Super sweet with the animals. Thank you!!!”

About: I have 4 dogs. I always stay behind on family vacations to watch them. I also make sure that they are fed on time, taking care of their medical needs and always put their needs before mine. I don't see dogs as pets but as part of the family. I work part-time at the best Western on Benicia. I at the moment only work afternoon/ evening shifts. So I always get up 5 am every day making sure I get my dogs needs fulfilled before mine. I have a lot of free time in the morning since I take online course at solano community college. I have a fenced in yard. My dogs were not socialized with other dogs in their puppy years. Because of that I always make sure of my surroundings at all times. I also understand breed bias as well since 1 of them is a Rottweiler german shepherd mixed. Again I always make sure that I treat dogs that I take care of as if they were mine.
“Our Gracie kitty said it was another wonderful stay with Aunt Tania! When we returned, everything was clean, the plants thriving, and Gracie happy as can be. We can never express our appreciation for what Tania does - knowing our home and our fur-baby are well cared for while we are gone is worth everything.”

“Tatyana took great care of our dog, Cooper, while staying at our home during our trip. She followed all of our instructions, and it was reassuring to know he was in good hands. We're grateful for her help and would happily recommend her to others.”

“We joined Rover hoping to connect with someone who is kind, responsible, caring about animals and above all, patient, who we could forge a relationship with that would be durable for the long-term. Ikeena has all of these qualities. As a family that travels regularly, whose family and friends have generally all grown-out of the idea of a week at our place as a mini-getaway, we are so thrilled to have connected with her. We got to know each other over zoom and some schedule walks and impromptu hellos and Ikeena dealt with our nerves of building trust with aplomb. Never were we made to feel silly for wanting to meet again or another walk or for having a several pages long doc about staying at our house and caring for our sweet little brown boy, Chicks. During her recent stay here we barely worried about a thing. Ikeena kept in touch with us regularly and Chicks seriously enjoyed being not just cared for, but spoiled by her. She went above and beyond!”

“Kaja was amazing! She took care of our pets (a dog and a cat) in our home while we were away for 5 days. She was incredibly responsive, and sent us updates daily. The next time we go out of town, we're definitely hoping to book again with Kaja! I can't recommend her enough!”
“Patti took great care of our cats again while we were away. She is focused on their needs, very compassionate, and ensured all went well. Her skill with animals comes through when caring for them. Our oldest cat Ada once again became her best lap buddy. I'll definitely book with Patti again.”

“Emma was fantastic with our dog Freya. From the start, her communication was clear, consistent, and reassuring, which made the whole experience feel easy and stress-free. She kept us updated and gave us real peace of mind knowing Freya was in great hands. It’s obvious she genuinely cares, and that made all the difference. We’d absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable and attentive.”

“Mandisa was amazing with our 3 pups, from meeting them on their own different energy levels during the meet n greet, to making them as comfy and chill as possible in our absence. She handled meds no problem and sent us plenty of updates. Can't recommend Mandisa enough :)”

“Aileen is awesome! She is very reliable, caring and the girls love her. We have 2 high energy pups with different issues and she didn’t bat an eye with anything. She communicated daily which I love. My dogs are my kids so I love knowing someone is taking as good of care as I would.”

“Irina is truly wonderful, she takes great care in taking proper care with your pets and home while we were away for 2 weeks. I had a big concern because I didn’t have a good experience with a previous sitter and my dog needed extra attention for her mobility. Irina was up for the job, and I felt at ease and felt I could enjoy my trip without worry! Would definitely recommend, and I would book her again :)”

“Sofia was great with our 2 dogs. She stepped in at the last minute. Was super attentive to the dogs. She sent updates for the time she was with them. I would highly recommend anyone bring her if they have the chance.”

About: I am a loving and friendly dog sitter! I grew up with two dogs, a poodle and a Chihuahua. My family currently has a bull terrier that I love very much. I also take care of my best friend's dog when she is out of town. I love dogs and going on walks so this combination is perfect for me. I am currently a nanny to one of nephews as needed but I am free every day during the summer to take care of your furry babies. I make sure I read their cues of needing water/food, when they need to pee/poop, when they're overstimulated, stressed, or happy. I also make sure to pet them and show them love by scratching them, patting them, and rubbing them. I also follow any schedule that is given to me to make sure they stick to their normal routine.

Suzy was such a blessing. She came on short notice and took excellent care of our dogs. One of them experienced a health issue while we were gone and Suzy helped us navigate the issue keeping us updated and reassured and helped to resolve the issue. I didn’t worry because Suzy was taking such good care. She gave lots of updates and sent little videos and pictures. We are very grateful.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 7,896 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Rodeo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Rodeo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Rodeo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Rodeo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Rodeo. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
