I have previous experience dog walking and caring for dogs, in addition to the last 5 years caring for my own dog, Ellie, whom I’ve had since she was 8 weeks old. Bringing her home right after Christmas was a very special moment, and she’s truly part of my family. I treat every dog with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I’m attentive to behavior, safety, routines, and comfort levels, and I have experience administering medications and following detailed care instructions. I aim to make every visit a positive and stress free experience for both you and your dog. I have a flexible schedule and provide reliable dog walking and drop in visits throughout the week. She was amazing with our puppy and just an amazing person and a truly nice and caring addition to our puppies small little world. I grew up with dogs my whole life and currently have two of my own, so I know firsthand how much personality, energy, and love a dog brings to a household. I understand that every pup has their own routine, quirks, and comfort level, and I take that seriously! As a college athlete, I'm used to staying active, being disciplined, and keeping a consistent schedule, which means your dog will get reliable, energetic walks every time. I genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs, so this isn't just a job for me. I'd love the chance to meet your furry family member and earn your trust. Feel free to reach out with any questions! This summer I am working part-time at a research lab, which means my schedule is extremely flexible most days of the week. I have consistent blocks of free time in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings, so I can easily accommodate walks and check-ins around whatever works best for you and your dog. When I'm out walking your dog, they have my full attention. I'm not on my phone, not distracted, just locked in on making sure they have a great time. Before we even head out, I'll make sure I know their name, any commands they respond to, their energy level, and anything I should watch out for. Every dog is different, and I genuinely enjoy figuring out what makes each one tick. I keep the dogs leashed and safe the whole time and stay alert to everything around us. I grew up with dogs, so reading their mood and body language is just second nature to me at this point. I'll send you photo updates along the way because I know how much you want to know your pup is doing well. For drop-in visits, I will treat your home with a lot of respect. I'm in and out cleanly, I follow whatever routine you've set up, and I make sure everything is exactly how you left it. Food, water, any medications, bathroom breaks, they will all be handled! I'll always send you an update so you're never left wondering.

“If you get the opportunity to book any service with Maikala, JUMP ON IT!! She was an overnight house/pet sitter for our 2 senior doggies for two weeks and I can't tell you the relief I felt after our meet & greet knowing our fur babies and house were in such EXCELLENT hands the whole 2 weeks we were away. One of our dogs is basically blind and deaf, both need daily oral meds, and the other one needs eye drops 3x/day. She handled all of that with ease on top of giving our pups lots of snuggles, walks and love. I'm pretty sure they were bummed to see us come home and her leave them (kidding, not kidding). She also sent videos, photos, and check-in texts throughout our vacation to continue to give us peace of mind. When an issue came up with the dogs getting into a little scuffle, she calmly handled the situation and appropriately contacted me; I appreciated her judgment in the moment. On top of all this, Maikala also took care of our fish, turtles, plants, garbage, mail and even unloaded our Instacart grocery bags on our last day away so we would have food when we got home! She is kind and trustworthy, warm yet professional. You can tell she really desires to provide the best care she can. Her services were worth every penny and we are definitely booking her for our next vacation!”

About: I am a loving and friendly dog sitter! I grew up with two dogs, a poodle and a Chihuahua. My family currently has a bull terrier that I love very much. I also take care of my best friend's dog when she is out of town. I love dogs and going on walks so this combination is perfect for me. I am currently a nanny to one of nephews as needed but I am free every day during the summer to take care of your furry babies. I make sure I read their cues of needing water/food, when they need to pee/poop, when they're overstimulated, stressed, or happy. I also make sure to pet them and show them love by scratching them, patting them, and rubbing them. I also follow any schedule that is given to me to make sure they stick to their normal routine.

About: I have loved all manner of critters ever since I was little! I would jump on every opportunity to be around animals, from cleaning friends' fish tanks while they were away to taking care of horses and mucking stalls in exchange for riding lessons. We've had our lovely pup Bosco for 12 years (since he was a couple months old). Steve the cat, came to us at just 3 weeks old about 5 years ago, and we took in the newest addition to our family, Kora the cat, a year and a half ago. I currently work from home so I'll be able to spend all day hanging out with and taking care of your pals. My work is very flexible so it goes where I go and scheduling is rarely a challenge no matter the hour! It is very important to me that your best pal has a great time while in my care so if your pet is on a specific schedule don't be afraid to get detailed! I’ve also cared for many animals over the years with medical needs, so I’ve become quite adept at creative pill camouflaging, breathing mask application, and the administration of various kinds of droplets (among other things).
