“Mandisa did a fantastic job looking after our dog, cats and home, and was great about checking in and providing updates while we were away. We look forward to having her housesit for us again!”

“Suzy was such a blessing. She came on short notice and took excellent care of our dogs. One of them experienced a health issue while we were gone and Suzy helped us navigate the issue keeping us updated and reassured and helped to resolve the issue. I didn’t worry because Suzy was taking such good care. She gave lots of updates and sent little videos and pictures. We are very grateful.”

About: I am a loving and friendly dog sitter! I grew up with two dogs, a poodle and a Chihuahua. My family currently has a bull terrier that I love very much. I also take care of my best friend's dog when she is out of town. I love dogs and going on walks so this combination is perfect for me. I am currently a nanny to one of nephews as needed but I am free every day during the summer to take care of your furry babies. I make sure I read their cues of needing water/food, when they need to pee/poop, when they're overstimulated, stressed, or happy. I also make sure to pet them and show them love by scratching them, patting them, and rubbing them. I also follow any schedule that is given to me to make sure they stick to their normal routine.

About: I’m a reliable, patient, and attentive dog lover who understands how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I have previous experience dog walking and caring for dogs, in addition to the last 5 years caring for my own dog, Ellie, whom I’ve had since she was 8 weeks old. Bringing her home right after Christmas was a very special moment, and she’s truly part of my family. I treat every dog with the same love, patience, and attention I give my own. I’m attentive to behavior, safety, routines, and comfort levels, and I have experience administering medications and following detailed care instructions. I aim to make every visit a positive and stress free experience for both you and your dog. I have a flexible schedule and provide reliable dog walking and drop in visits throughout the week. I’m available for daytime walks, afternoon visits, and select weekends. I’m honest, dependable, and take the time to understand each dog’s personality, behavior, and comfort level. I pay close attention to routines, preferences, and any sensitivities so I can provide care that feels safe and familiar. I follow instructions carefully, maintain a calm environment, and always prioritize your dog’s safety and well being. I aim to make every visit a positive and stress free experience for both you and your dog.
“2nd time Cristina has watched our dogs and she was amazing once again! She sends lots of pictures and updates, and is so sweet and attentive with them. She was able to carry our old dog upstairs to hang out with the pack, and also administer their medications. I know they are always in good hands and getting lots of love. I’d recommend her to anyone!”
“Rachelle is prompt and responsive! She's very pleasant to deal with, she pet sat our dog for 2.5 days in our home while we were away. My pup was very calm and relaxed when i came home, which was great, since he can be very anxious at times. I will definitely contact her again, the next time we need to be away from home!”

About: Over the last few years I've become my friends, and friends of friends, go to person for pet care! I've always loved animals and grew up with pups in the home. During COVID I started sitting for friends and colleagues of mine who had to return to the office. My flexible WFH schedule gives me plenty of time to go on walks, feeding, and of course play. I also have a pup of my own and am comfortable working with puppies. I work remotely so my schedule is extremely flexible! Here is a rough idea of my schedule, although there is definitely room to move things around: open Mondays, Tuesday’s early morning , open Fri-Sun. I treat every pet that I am with as if they were my own! Every pet has different needs and I pride my myself on noting the needs of each one that is in my care. I always ask owners about house rules as well as their pets like and dislikes so I can make sure I'm keeping them safe and happy. As a pet owner myself, I only hope to give the owners the peace of mind knowing their pet is getting the best care and attention!

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats since birth and have spent my whole life building a deep understanding of animal behavior and care. Growing up, my family raised two litters of puppies, giving me hands-on experience with everything from newborn care to socialization and training throughout various life stages. I currently share my home with three dogs of my own and regularly care for friends' cats and dogs, both in my home and theirs. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes, from small lap dogs to large breeds, and know that each comes with its own personality, energy level, and needs. People tell me I'm not just a dog person but also someone dogs are drawn to. Cats have been a constant in my life just as long as dogs have. I know how to read their cues, respect their space, and earn their trust on their own terms. I genuinely love every stage of a pet's life and know how to meet each animal where they are, whether that's an energetic puppy, a curious cat, or a laid-back senior. I’ve worked in human crisis intervention for over 6 years, which means I stay calm under pressure and know how to respond quickly and clearly when something unexpected happens. That same steady, caring approach is what I bring to every pet I look after. I do Rover to supplement my nonprofit career, so when I take on your pet it's because I genuinely want to be here, not because I have to be. Your pet won't just be cared for, they'll feel right at home! I work from home on a flexible schedule that I set myself, which means I'm present with your pet throughout the day rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. We have a fenced yard for outdoor time and can separate pets as needed, so your animal has a safe, comfortable space even with my own dogs in the home. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I treat every pet like they're my own. My home is pet-proofed with a fenced yard, and I can separate animals as needed so everyone has their own safe space alongside my own dogs. I always want to know your pet's routine, quirks, and preferences ahead of time so I can keep things as normal and comfortable as possible for them. With a lifetime of experience with dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, I'm confident handling whatever comes up, and my crisis intervention background means I stay calm and act fast if an emergency arises.
“Mason was a great sitter for our two cats! He was communicative, left the house so clean and most importantly, we came home to happy and loving cats. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I have loved all manner of critters ever since I was little! I would jump on every opportunity to be around animals, from cleaning friends' fish tanks while they were away to taking care of horses and mucking stalls in exchange for riding lessons. We've had our lovely pup Bosco for 12 years (since he was a couple months old). Steve the cat, came to us at just 3 weeks old about 5 years ago, and we took in the newest addition to our family, Kora the cat, a year and a half ago. I currently work from home so I'll be able to spend all day hanging out with and taking care of your pals. My work is very flexible so it goes where I go and scheduling is rarely a challenge no matter the hour! It is very important to me that your best pal has a great time while in my care so if your pet is on a specific schedule don't be afraid to get detailed! I’ve also cared for many animals over the years with medical needs, so I’ve become quite adept at creative pill camouflaging, breathing mask application, and the administration of various kinds of droplets (among other things).
“Irina is wonderful. Very reliable and professional. My dog adores Irina and I can tell feels really cared for with her. I can tell how good he feels with her with how he runs to her side when she arrives and how it takes him a moment to realize I’ve come home (because he is cuddled up with Irina instead of watching the door). I feel completely at ease and confident when he’s in her care.”

“Angelina and Xavior were great with our fur babies. They were very attentive to the needs of our senior dog and sent lots of updates which gave us great peace of mind. We will definitely be requesting them again.”
“I returned to find my cat 20-25% less petty and vindictive than when I have returned from trips with an average sitter. No shredded shoes, no "draping" on the litter-box. Daniel does sitting well.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Pinole is $75

Mandisa was amazing with our 3 pups, from meeting them on their own different energy levels during the meet n greet, to making them as comfy and chill as possible in our absence. She handled meds no problem and sent us plenty of updates. Can't recommend Mandisa enough :)

Suzy was such a blessing. We are very grateful.

We joined Rover hoping to connect with someone who is kind, responsible, caring about animals and above all, patient, who we could forge a relationship with that would be durable for the long-term. Ikeena has all of these qualities. As a family that travels regularly, whose family and friends have generally all grown-out of the idea of a week at our place as a mini-getaway, we are so thrilled to have connected with her. We got to know each other over zoom and some schedule walks and impromptu hellos and Ikeena dealt with our nerves of building trust with aplomb. Never were we made to feel silly for wanting to meet again or another walk or for having a several pages long doc about staying at our house and caring for our sweet little brown boy, Chicks. During her recent stay here we barely worried about a thing. Ikeena kept in touch with us regularly and Chicks seriously enjoyed being not just cared for, but spoiled by her. She went above and beyond!

Sierra has been fantastic. My return home was delayed by inclement weather and I was so stressed about the wellbeing of my dog. Sierra was a huge help, fitting in extra check-ins last minute, and doing so much to keep Winnie safe and sound as I scrambled to get home from out of state. Her efforts and updates helped me feel less anxious.

We had the pleasure of working with Teresa (Tess) recently for house sitting. Starting from the meet and greet, Tess was really professional. She inquired about all the necessary details and was open to learning about our dog’s behavior and how to operate the e collar and remote. She even walked with our dog with us during the meet and greet. We loved that she had experience sitting a cane corso, as our dog is also a mastiff. During the house/dog sit, Tess walked our dog 2 times a day, sometimes more and provided extended walks. She sent us 2 updates a day with pics. She fed our dog the home made food we provided her, which required defrosting and heating up in the microwave. She was communicative when she had questions about our dog’s behavior. I’m so happy she did because we were able to explain that that the asked about behavior was playful and she had energy to let out in the backyard. Tess also was tested with a lot of wild life like possums, skunks, squirrels and cats on the walk, she handled all scenarios like a pro and kept all animals safe. She gave Guava cuddles and attention when our dog asked for it :) I highly recommend Tess and will continue booking services with her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Pinole on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 7,896 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pinole. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pinole walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pinole maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pinole choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pinole. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
