About: I have had pets all my life and have a special way with many animals. From tiring out restless pups through play so they can settle in their doghouses, to gaining the trust of the sassiest cats, my patience and kindness towards all animals has gained me the favor of friends and family to care for their pets. I am currently a full time student, so my availability throughout the week can vary. Despite this I find myself to have my afternoons and evenings mostly free. Additionally, my weekends will be free most weeks. In a cliients home, I would do my best to respect the environment and the pets space. Not surprising the pet or adjusting things from their usual place, like food or water bowls, to show I am not here to change pet routines but just to help them along. Additionally, gaining trust on walks and setting firm boundaries with the pet to keep myself and the pet safe when out and about.

“Erin was super helpful. I had booked her last minute and she was able to help me which I greatly appreciated. Kept Neoh happy, cleaned up after him, and was on time each visit. Thank you again for all your help!”

“Nicoletta is amazing. From the moment she came to meet our cats, the shy one came up to her immediately to rub his face against her hand! So rare for him to visit with people besides ourselves at all! I really appreciated that Nicoletta took extra care in all of the details. Larry needed his meds, Ben is a flight risk. She managed all of it with aplomb. I highly recommend Nicoletta for any of your pet sitting needs. She's communicative, friendly, loves your animals, and gives you confidence that she'll take care of your pet family while you're away from home. Six out of five stars for Nicoletta!”
About: I have extensive experience in animal care, having personally cared for a variety of animals. Additionally, I worked at a dog daycare and volunteered at an animal shelter for five years, where I provided dedicated care for both dogs and cats. Pet care has been a regular part of my routine for several years. Whether it’s feeding, walking, or just spending quality time with animals, I naturally incorporate these responsibilities into my daily life. I genuinely enjoy caring for animals, and I prioritize their well-being and comfort. With my current open schedule, I have the flexibility to provide consistent and attentive care, and I'm looking forward to making pet care a central part of my full-time routine. When caring for pets, whether in my home or a client’s, I focus on providing a safe, comfortable, and familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and any specific instructions from the owner. In a client’s home, I make sure to respect their space, keep everything clean and organized, and provide regular updates for peace of mind. I also pay close attention to the pet’s behavior and needs, making sure they feel secure and cared for at all times. My goal is always to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both the pet and the owner.
“Met letter was great with our two cats! She did all the basics (food/water/litter box) and then gave them some extra love and attention. She even got our shy one to come out and say hi! Would definitely recommend her for all of your pet needs and we will Definitely be using her again ❤️”

“This was my first time booking with Jessica, and I’m so glad I did. She did so well with my shy boy, and even straightened up a little bit before she left. I will most definitely book again with her!”

“Deborah took great care of our two dogs! She was so kind and helped us through our anxiety by sending lots of updates and pictures. She was flexible when we had to make some last minute changes. I can’t recommend her enough! Thank you for everything, Deborah!”

“Jenna was a great communicator and helped me with a senior cat drop in visit. She asked thoughtful questions and then was very reliable and timely. This set me at ease, very grateful!”

“Thank you so much for caring for our spotty boy! We really appreciate you and the time you took to come see to his needs. Excellent work, super responsive and communicative.”

About: I have worked at 2 dog facilities, The Meadows Canine Camp in Santa Rosa and I currently work at the Milo Foundation where I walk and adopt out dogs. I currently have a foster named Grayson (boxer) who is good with small dogs. I love animals and I am very qualified to take care of your pet while you are away. Cant wait to meet them! I work at the Milo Foundation in point Richmond Wednesday-Sunday. Your dog would need to be ok for 8hrs alone on those days or if they are small I can take them with me to work. Before and after work would be dedicated time spent with your pet and I am off on Mondays and Tuesdays. While walking, your pets safety is my number one priority and I will make sure to walk in areas deemed appropriate by clients. Having dogs of my own, I understand the importance on keeping them safe when out. I also like to use a harnesses when walking to avoid a dogs collar slipping and possibility of getting loose.
About: I have taken care of pets for over 10 years around the world! Neighbors, friends, families and acquaintances have all trusted me with the livelihoods of their loved ones. I can administer medication, go on as many walks as needed, drive or walk to the dog park or just cuddle on the sofa if you pet loves that too! I work as a school teacher and am an online grad student but am able to come and go as I please so my schedule is quite flexible! I am very mindful of your pets care, safety and security while they are in my trust. I can crate your pet, calm them down and care for them as per your instruction.

“Thanks so much Mandisa, Mac had a great time meeting and walking with you and it was so reassuring for me to spend time with you before you house sit, I know he will be in good hands with you!!”
About: I have been a dog walker/sitter for 3 years officially. I quit my job to do this full time. Dogs are my favorite thing in this world! I will care for them as if they are my own. I’ve yet to meet a pup that hasn’t liked me. I will protect you’re pup at all cost and always make sure they have the best time when they are with me! Im already a dog walker all morning with my regular clients. So later in the day is when I have availability. I do have a few spots in the mornings though. Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Selby
My cat has never been as affectionate and comfortable with any other sitter as she was with Amber. It was amazing to see how much my cat immediately trusted her! Additionally, I had a home emergency while I was out that Amber helped me handle. She's really great at her job?

Adam was a pleasure to work with! From the moment we met him we felt like our cats were in good hands. Adam came on time to our house for over a week and fed our cats, made sure they had clean water, gave them treats, and showed them lots of love. He also helped us by opening up the doors to let our house air out. We loved the detailed report cards he would send every day and enjoyed seeing adorable pics he would snap for us. We wish we would have met him sooner for our cat needs! Overall, Adam is a super cool guy and we will 100% be reaching out to him again for any of our future pet sitting needs. Thanks a million times Adam!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Selby. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
