Safety, trust & environment
I don’t currently offer sitting in my own home, but in my clients homes I am very respectful of the animals space and allowing them time to adjust to me. I’m mindful of coming in and out of the main entrance, especially with indoor only cats. If a dog is crated in between visits or a dog or cat needs to be confined to a certain area, I’m happy to facilitate that.
Information Jessica L. would like to know about your pet
I have no breed preferences and love them all. Being the past and present owner of a pit bull, an often misunderstood breed, I know the importance of being informed about each dog and their individual characteristics and quirks. I like to know if a dog is protective of their home and surroundings. If out on walks, its good to know if he/she is leash reactive, good with other dogs if just passing by or going nose-to-nose, and if they obey basic commands or have special cues. If off-leash, does he/she have good recall? As a disclaimer, I generally won’t take your dog to a dog park unless specially requested just because of the unknown factor with how other dogs may behave. However, if we do go, I like to know a dogs play style and if they are dog friendly versus dog selective.
A typical day
I love being outdoors and going on hikes and nature/trail walks as the weather permits. I’m also happy to just snuggle together on the couch (if they’re allowed on the furniture, of course) and give lots of love and belly rubs!

Registered Vet Tech & Animal Lover!
Pet care experience
Between my own four-legged children and my career in veterinary medicine, it’s safe to say animals are at the center of my life. I was raised here in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area and have always had dogs and cats. I also spent most of my adolescence rescuing any stray that crossed my path (and the occasional “stray” that was actually a neighbors cat- whoops!) It was that love and passion for animals that led me to pursue a life-long goal of working in the veterinary field. I graduated with an AS degree from a veterinary technology program in 2006 and then subsequently passed my California state board examination to become a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2007. I worked for a small general practice in my hometown for 5 years and created wonderful bonds with the regular clients and their pets. It wasn’t until I brought my own dog to the ER that I realized I would love to explore that aspect of veterinary medicine. In 2012, I began working at a 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital in Marin. I worked overnights for several years and then transitioned to alternating during the week between daytime emergency, dermatology and internal medicine. I love different things about each specialty and have learned a lot but emergency will always hold a special place in my heart. I stepped into a nursing supervisor role in 2019, briefly managed another veterinary ER in San Francisco and am back in Marin as a hospital service manager. Having a career in veterinary medicine and petsitting often go hand in hand and I’ve been providing in-home care for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, turtles, reptiles and pocket pets since 2004. I’ve cared for puppies and kittens, senior pets, feral cats and many multiple pet homes and welcome them all!

Absolutely amazing! Took amazing care of my dog while out on a trip. Very communicative, will be booking again in the future.

Jessica was wonderful and took great care of our cat and dog on short notice! Looking forward to booking care with her again!
Reliable and easy to communicate with. I'll be happy to hire Jessica again.
I asked Jessica if she could clip my cat's claws. She got it done quickly, very competently, and with hardly any fuss from the cat. I was impressed with Jessica and delighted with the result. I would absolutely book her again.
