“Aileen is awesome! She is very reliable, caring and the girls love her. We have 2 high energy pups with different issues and she didn’t bat an eye with anything. She communicated daily which I love. My dogs are my kids so I love knowing someone is taking as good of care as I would.”

“Xaniah took wonderful care of our two dogs, Ella and Mia, while we were away on vacation. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in good hands. We especially appreciated all of the photo updates throughout our trip—they made it so much easier to relax knowing our girls were happy and doing well. Thank you for taking such great care of them! We wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again and highly recommend Xaniah to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.”

“Fiona was great with nightly updates and pictures of our pups. She even made sure to leave our house in excellent shape when she left. We look forward to booking with her again.”

“This is now the second time I have used Emma and I intend to use her for Dario's care as long as she will have us. Emma is so reliable, responsive, caring and respectful of our home and Dario's needs as he is dealing with some very tough health issues in the time he has remaining with us. her updates are fantastic and reassuring with the videos, etc. Emma in my opinion is as close to a "dog whisperer" in care and love for her clients. She is a very, very special person and simply the best at what she does. Dr. Larry Bienati”

“We couldn’t be more thankful for Suzy who came in on an extremely short notice situation when our normal sitter wasn’t able to make it. She was amazing with our puppy and just an amazing person and a truly nice and caring addition to our puppies small little world. We will most certainly be having her back into our home to take care of our little guy diesel. We are so looking forward to booking with Suzy again and wish we could give her six stars. Also her communication was excellent within five minutes of submitting a request she called and we talked on the phone and she made me feel comfortable and safe with her in our home and with our fur baby.”

About: I have been taking care of animals my whole life. I can trim nails, bathe, brush, play, feed, administer medications, walking, and anything else that may be required. I work at the animal hospital which I frequently learn as I go. I have been with animals my whole life and have been taking care of them as if they were my own. I have a free schedule from Tuesdays-Thursdays. All my attention is put into them during the week. Weekend would be difficult because of my time being at the vet hospital. I will have asked and reassured about all the safety precautions, any toys, off limit items, and your care instructions. I will keep your house spotless and will deep clean anything before I leave if necessary. I will treat your fur baby as my own.
About: I have worked at a dog daycare for 12 years and I have learned so much about dog body language and dog care and safety. I have previously worked at a dog shelter for even more knowledge and care. I have owned dogs and cats my entire life and I can’t imagine my life without companion animals. I am currently only working for two days out of the week. I will have plenty of times to spend with other peoples companions. I love to help out and I love animals. At home I have a decent size fenced in backyard. I have a dog and cat friendly dog if yours would like a companion. If not that is not a problem at all. I do own three cats but they have their own bedroom just in case your fur baby isn’t fawned of cats. I have plenty of dog beds, blankets, couches and I big dog crate just in case. I also have basic first aid for fur babies.
“Wonderful! We met and my nervous dog immediately ran in for butt scratches and snuggles. He is a very shy dog. Needless to say, we hired on the spot. Nobody ever passes the vibe check so well. Very courteous about photos and walk updates. Super sweet with the animals. Thank you!!!”

About: I’ve had a dog ever since I was about 8 years old. I’m about to be 29 so that’s over 20 years of experience! I’ve had very calm dogs to my now 2 high energy, herding, reactive dogs! I can work with all types of temperaments! I currently work from 8-1 but my hours are very flexible due to being able to remote work! I am available to in home pet sit on the weekends starting Friday until Sunday! I will be sure to keep your pet on their routine in the comfort of their own home. Take normal walking routes and be sure to clean up after them. I am a safe a reliable source. I have pet sat for multiple people and have had no problems.

“Mandisa took great care of our little terrier, Luna (who can be a handful some times). I especially appreciated her responsiveness and professionalism throughout the process, which provided such peace of mind, and the notes she left afterward, which were super helpful for managing an issue Luna's been having lately, where she gets so excited by the neighborhood cats that she forgets to potty when you take her outside. Ah, terriers. We look forward to booking with Mandisa agin.”

About: I have 4 dogs. I always stay behind on family vacations to watch them. I also make sure that they are fed on time, taking care of their medical needs and always put their needs before mine. I don't see dogs as pets but as part of the family. I work part-time at the best Western on Benicia. I at the moment only work afternoon/ evening shifts. So I always get up 5 am every day making sure I get my dogs needs fulfilled before mine. I have a lot of free time in the morning since I take online course at solano community college. I have a fenced in yard. My dogs were not socialized with other dogs in their puppy years. Because of that I always make sure of my surroundings at all times. I also understand breed bias as well since 1 of them is a Rottweiler german shepherd mixed. Again I always make sure that I treat dogs that I take care of as if they were mine.

“Esther is the ultimate best! This is her second time house sitting, our guy, Astro and we couldn’t be any happier! She’s a great communicator and takes really good care of our pup. Highly recommend! Thanks, Esther!”

“Darla is wonderful! My Ruby absolutely loves her!! She watches her leave until her car is out of site! ? I have no worries at all when she is either house sitting or taking her to the dog park! Thank you Darla!!❤️”

About: I’ve been caring for my family rescue pitbull for 10 years. This experience has provided me experience with bigger dogs, senior dogs, and dogs that are reactive and prefer to avoid other dogs on walks. Dogs and cats bring me immense joy, and my goal is to be such love and care to the pets, but also respect to the pet and their owners. Looking forward to working with you all! I’m currently a master’s student, who has a few days off a week! My schedule will become even more free with my academic winter and summer break! I can check on your pets in the am, mid day, and evening! While taking care of pets in others homes, I will be sure to respect the owner's boundaries. I will never touch anything in the house that is off limits. I will be attentive with your dogs needs and give them love.
“Claudia saved us as we reached out pretty last minute and during the holidays. She was very communicative along the way and we came home to a happy boy. Thanks again Claudia!!”

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vallejo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vallejo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vallejo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
