Emma was beyond magnificent! Our Dog Dario is 15 years old and is his health is failing sadly so we needed someone who could attend to his challenging needs, meds and pain, etc. Emma was incredible with her love, care, keeping us posted with pictures and ensuring our home was properly maintained and safe for all. Emma is very responsible, compassionate and a solid, respectful provider. We will keep using her as long as she can accommodate Dario's challenges in the time he has left with us. I strongly recommend Emma and she exceeded all of our expectations truly. Dr. Larry and Cathy Bienati

Aileen is wonderful! She took care of my super high maintenance 15 year old small soul dog who needs meds twice a day and only wants to be hand fed. She was attentive and sent me texts which put me at ease. It is a big thing to trust a sitter when you have a special needs baby, and Aileen is the perfect person for the job. We will definitely be booking her again.

I can't say enough positive things about Darla! She was so thorough in getting to know me and my pup, Stevie. Darla kept me updated with plenty of pictures and texts while I was out of town so I knew how my dog was doing. She went above and beyond, providing referrals for everything from veterinary care to plumbing concerns around the house! I will absolutely be booking Darla every time I need to go out of town - she is the best there is!

Kelly was a fantastic sitter for my fur baby Onyx! She was in regular communication, sent lots of pics and kept me updated as necessary. Onyx was well taken care of and Kelly was loving, patient and kind with her. She worked with me on crazy changes to my flight schedule and even offered to stay late which I really appreciated. She left my house clean and fresh and was a pleasure to work with. She is reliable and a great communicator. She even checked on Onyx the day after my return. I’d definitely have Kelly again and am already trying to book her for a future date. Thank you Kelly for taking such great care of Onyx, for being so loving with her and for being willing to work with me on all levels!

Suzy was such a blessing. She came on short notice and took excellent care of our dogs. One of them experienced a health issue while we were gone and Suzy helped us navigate the issue keeping us updated and reassured and helped to resolve the issue. I didn’t worry because Suzy was taking such good care. She gave lots of updates and sent little videos and pictures. We are very grateful.

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give every pet. I treat each pet like family and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I'm dependable, patient, and attentive to each pet's unique routine and personality. I'm comfortable caring for energetic puppies/kittens who need consistency and playtime, as well as senior pets who may need extra patience, gentle care, medication reminders, or a slower pace. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident knowing your furry family member is in good hands. Im currently just doing school twice a week Tuesday and Thursday during the evening. Im currently working from home so I have plenty of free time to take care of your adorable fur a babies. I provide loving, attentive care by following each pet's normal routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. At home, I care for my five indoor cats and three small dogs every day, so I'm experienced with feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box cleaning, walks, playtime, and giving each pet individual attention. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect their routines and instructions, keep the home clean, and make sure pets get plenty of exercise, affection, and companionship. I also send regular updates and photos so owners can have peace of mind while they're away.

About: I have 4 dogs. I always stay behind on family vacations to watch them. I also make sure that they are fed on time, taking care of their medical needs and always put their needs before mine. I don't see dogs as pets but as part of the family. I work part-time at the best Western on Benicia. I at the moment only work afternoon/ evening shifts. So I always get up 5 am every day making sure I get my dogs needs fulfilled before mine. I have a lot of free time in the morning since I take online course at solano community college. I have a fenced in yard. My dogs were not socialized with other dogs in their puppy years. Because of that I always make sure of my surroundings at all times. I also understand breed bias as well since 1 of them is a Rottweiler german shepherd mixed. Again I always make sure that I treat dogs that I take care of as if they were mine.

About: Hi! I'm Carly. After spending the last 15 years supporting executives in the tech industry, I'm taking some time to figure out what's next and focus on what I truly love -- animals. I've been around animals my entire life, stay involved with local rescue and fostering, and today I have several rescue dogs of my own. I'm available to travel, am reliable, organized, and take pride in being someone people can count on. Whether I'm caring for your family pets, your home, or both, my goal is to make your time away as worry-free as possible. I look forward to connecting! ⌂ 🐾 I'm currently taking time to figure out what's next for me professionally after spending the last 15 years working in tech. I have an extremely flexible schedule and ability to travel right now, and would love to be part of making sure your animals are taken care of in a way that works for you (walks, hikes, house hangs, etc). My home has a very large fenced in yard that my own dogs go wild in each day. I make sure all animals feel loved, are stimulated, and get whatever it is they need.

About: I have experience caring for big and small dogs, and cats (including following post-surgery instructions). I will of course fall in love with your pet, but I also know how to love gently from a distance if your pet is shy or nervous. I have been raised with a (naughty) Husky, Labrador Retriever, Mini Goldendoodle, Cocker Spaniels, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and black and orange cats. I know how to care for pets who are a little too eager to bolt out the front door, become Houdini when it comes to stealing human snacks, and might need a little extra care due to age. As a former runner also trying to get back into a routine, I am available to take your dog for a run if they need to get out a little extra energy! As for cats, I don't mind a litter box clean-out and love to cuddle -- or just mutually exist! I am currently in medical school, so I may have classes during business hours on weekdays. However, I am available to check on your animal before or after school, go on afternoon walks, or hang out with your pet over a weekend (when I am most free). When I care for your pet at your home, I want them to feel as comfortable and familiar as possible, however, I still make sure to respect and treat your property better than my own. For the first couple visits, I make sure to introduce myself to your pet cautiously, since I am entering their space. I usually will take them on a walk/potty them first (if applicable), fulfill food and water duties, and finally do a walkthrough of their space to make sure there is nothing dangerous and there are no messes. I am happy to accommodate to any specific needs or requirements!

FAQs for House Sitting - Vallejo

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Vallejo on Rover is $61.3 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 7,580 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Vallejo. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Vallejo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Vallejo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vallejo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vallejo. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
