I have transitioned to pet sitting full time, so I am available M-F as well as weekends and holidays. I try to remain in the home with the pet as much of the working day as possible with a 4 hour block set aside for errands and other scheduled obligations, only if need be. Disclaimer: If your pet cannot be left alone for at least 4 hours at a time, an additional $40/night will be added to the total.

Routine is important, so I try to keep things as close to what they would be if you were at home with your pet yourself. Daily walking if permitted, playing with toys, receiving meal times when they normally do and litter cleaning if there are cats in the home as well.

Just need to know if there are any health or dietary issues as well as any anxiety or possible reactive behaviors. None of these are deterrents for me, it’s just helpful to know what level of energy to bring to each fur baby to ensure they are as happy and comfortable as possible when around a new friend :)
A typical day
Mental stimulation is just as important as physical, so if we aren’t checking out all the new sights and smells the neighbor has to offer, we can exercise our brains with fun games and puzzles!

Like most people working for rover, I’ve had dogs (and cats, birds, snakes, geckos, hamsters, chinchillas) my entire life. Professionally, I have almost 10 years of experience in caring for pets other than my own, including the 2 1/2 years on Rover. I have worked in a grooming salon full time doing baths, nail trims, ear cleaning etc and after that I managed the pet care department of a large pet store chain. Prior to Rover, I was working as a nanny taking care of children aged 6mo-5yrs and since Covid have focused on in-home pet sitting!
