About: I grew up on a farm in Australia and I’m a lifelong dog lover with a rescue dog of my own. I have shelter volunteer experience in which I’ve been trained to handle a variety of dog breeds and temperaments. It would be my pleasure to take care of your dog as I would my own! I love to run also so feel free to request some extra speed on the walks for high energy pups! I work remotely as a software engineer with a flexible schedule. I’m usually busy with meetings early morning but after that I’m all yours! Weekends can be less predictable but happy to work in times with some notice. I’m a shelter volunteer so have been trained in how to create safe environments and identify risk factors. I will always put the dogs well being first and take on board all requests and advice from the owners.

Chris is very caring and conscientious and we appreciate his attention to detailed instructions for our dogs so much. He arrived and took the dogs for their walk on schedule and even spent some time with them after their walk. Our dogs can be persnickety and willful but he is very patient with them.

About: I am a Biology student at UCSC, and I want to become a veterinarian in the future. I am participating in the Pupcycle Club, which is a foundation that recycles old clothes to make dog toys for dogs in animal shelters in Santa Cruz. I also participate in the UCSC Vet Club, which is student-run, where we learn more about the care of animals and the steps it takes to become vets. I'm bilingual, able to speak in Spanish and English. I am a student at UCSC; however, I'm in Marin over the summer for a long period of time, from early June through late September, where I'm mainly focusing on volunteer opportunities, learning opportunities, and being able to care for other animals. With a free and flexible schedule, I am able to care for pets for short or long periods of time, working at your schedule. I will make sure your home stays clean and safe while caring for and providing time to your pets. I will respect your home and the environment your pets live in. I will provide my whole attention and focus on taking care of your pets and giving them the attention they deserve.

About: Hi, I’m a teacher M-F and I’m hoping to earn extra $ to offset travel expenses from this past summer and to save for future travel. I love animals and think of this as a win/ win! The photos in my profile are of dogs I’ve cared for over the years (for friends, neighbors, family, and through Trusted Housesitters where I’ve stayed in people’s homes). I look forward to meeting you and your treasured pet. Free and flexible during the day and evening! During the summer months I don’t work. During the school year I’m free between 4pm - 10pm. I’m happy to care for pets in my own home once I’ve gotten to know them as a dog walker. I live near Hampton Park and it is a very dog friendly neighborhood.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I have years of hands-on experience as a lifelong dog owner, and dogs seem to connect with my calm, positive energy. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or simply providing companionship, I’ll make sure your dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away Im currently looking for as many opportunities as possible as my schedule has opened up. Currently im taking same day booking but I am open to consistent weekly work. I first ask what is expected of me , and going from there. In the past I’ve taken care of dogs in kennels, fenced off, indoor, and anyway the owner sees fit ensuring the safety of the pet ❤️

About: Hey, I’m Evan! I’m 19, born and raised in Marin, and I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life. I have two dogs of my own and love taking them on hikes around the Bay. I’m responsible, enthusiastic, and always make sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Your dog will get lots of exercise, attention, and love when they’re with me! I’m 19 and a full-time student at College of Marin, and pet care fits really naturally into my weekly routine. I love taking hikes and getting outside, so bringing a dog along just makes it even better. I’m flexible with my schedule and always make time to fit in walks, check-ins, and quality time with the pets I care for. Safety and comfort are my top priorities with every pet I care for. I’m always gentle, patient, and respectful of each dog or cat’s routine and personality. I follow instructions closely, keep a close eye on pets during walks, and make sure they’re never put in unsafe situations. At a client’s home, I keep things calm, clean, and consistent so pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I’ve cared for animals my whole life, so I know how important it is to build trust and make every pet feel secure, loved, and well looked after.

About: Hi, I’m Jackie! Animals have always been a big part of my life- from mini lop-eared rabbits to horses, and I now have a 8 year old Beagle, Finley and my 1 year old Beagle, Kenzie whom go just about everywhere with me. I have extensive experience caring for senior pets, administering medication, and working with deaf and blind dogs. I understand that every pet has unique needs, and I will provide patient, attentive care to ensure they feel safe and comfortable. I will also encourage good listening and good behavior with rewards while they are with me. For house sitting, I’m neat, and quiet, treating your home as if it were my own. Whether you need a trustworthy, reliable sitter or a dog walker, I’ll care for your house and pets as if they were my own. I am currently available full time. I am happy to come to your house and stay there if needed but would need to bring my beagle, Finley, with me. I treat my clients’ pets and homes with the same care and respect as I would my own. For pets, I ensure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection, while also following any specific routines, dietary needs and medication schedules they may have. With extensive experience caring for senior pets, including those with special needs, I’m comfortable administering medication and providing extra patience and care for aging or anxious animals. For home care, I am neat, responsible, and quiet, treating each home as if it were my own. I keep spaces clean and organized, water plants, bring in mail, and ensure everything remains secure. Whether clients are gone for a few hours or an extended period of time, they can feel confident that their pets and home are in reliable and trustworthy hands.

Megan was very, kind, considerate and attentive with walking our dog Prescott! She’s was very thorough with his needs- as he recently injured his paw after swimming & hiking for a few days. She took it slow with him. Megan is also very organized in that she clarified walking times with me so I had the correct dates in for his walk. Appreciate you helping us out, would book with her again. Thanks a bunch Megan!

Marielle was exactly who we needed to help with our dogs; we're so grateful to have found her! She confidently handled our two dogs walking through the neighborhood, including one that has some leash aggression and one that is prone to eating whatever he can find. She was punctual, communicative, and reported all the details of the walks each day - including photos! We knew our dogs were in good hands; we'll definitely be contacting her again for future walks. She's the best!

Sarah was excellent to work with -- communicative, friendly, and great with our girls. They are each 40lbs of energy and not the easiest to control sometimes -- but she worked with them to earn their trust and be their walk leader. Additionally, even though most of the walks were scheduled during a heat wave, zero complaints from Sarah, and she smartly knew to make the sure dogs didn't get overheated by limiting the distance and making sure they had water. Highly recommend her for anyone who is looking for a conscientious person to take care of their pets!

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
