About: I adore dogs! I have cared for many pets and homes throughout my life, from small dogs and puppies to Brittanys and Labs. I am very experienced in walking dogs, playing with them, and providing their basic food and water needs. I genuinely love dogs, and can't get enough of them. I have also cared for birds, fish, and other small pets such as hamsters and Guinea pigs. I am an expert caretaker of homes, both apartments and houses. I have served as a long-term housesitter for friends and families, and while I am not a homeowner, I have rented numerous houses and cared for them meticulously. I also absolutely love gardening and am quite experienced, so I am more than happy to provide gardening and landscaping maintenance. I am a professor, so I have a lot of flexibility in the summer months until mid to late August. During the summer months, I teach a bit and do some activities, but I am able to be home as much as needed to care for pets. I am careful and conscientious with pets. I make sure they have enough to eat, drink, and enough exercise. I am good at taking dogs on walks, and I follow owners' instructions to the letter.
“Krystle has been great with my dog, who hates walks without me. My dog is happy to see her come to the door and enjoy the walks. Krystle is always on time and responsive to the needs of me and my dog. I’m so happy I found her on Rover.”

About: I grew up on a farm in Australia and I’m a lifelong dog lover with a rescue dog of my own. I have shelter volunteer experience in which I’ve been trained to handle a variety of dog breeds and temperaments. It would be my pleasure to take care of your dog as I would my own! I love to run also so feel free to request some extra speed on the walks for high energy pups! I work remotely as a software engineer with a flexible schedule. I’m usually busy with meetings early morning but after that I’m all yours! Weekends can be less predictable but happy to work in times with some notice. I’m a shelter volunteer so have been trained in how to create safe environments and identify risk factors. I will always put the dogs well being first and take on board all requests and advice from the owners.
About: I adopted my first cat in 2018, and have been obsessed ever since. I currently have two cats, Mac and Marty, and they are my best friends. Since owning cats, I have been dedicated to educating myself about how to keep them happy, healthy, and feeling secure in their environment. I know to be extremely patient with cats, to let them set the rules and boundaries for how they want to interact with you, and to look out for changes in behavior that can act as subtle but very important health indicators. I also know that cats require a lot of attention, different kinds of enrichment, and a high level of care. I work from home full-time, so I am available most weekdays after 5pm and all day on weekends. I have flexibility within the day as well, depending on the length of a home visit. Demonstrating a high level of care for your home and pets is extremely important to me (I respect no-shoes-inside policies). I'm happy to adjust to you and your pets needs to make sure I am providing the highest level of service that I can. I aim to build confidence and trust that things are taken care of while you are away.
“Chris is the most wonderful and intuitive dog walker. He pays close attention to what our dog needs each day and is communicative about her behaviors each day. Chris is a true animal lover that takes the time to connect with our dog each day. I highly reccommend Chris, he is an amazing dog walker.”

“Very quick response and accommodating to a last minute request. Walk + nail trim went very smooth. Glad I didn’t have to make an extra trip to the groomer. You can tell Nima greatly cares about animals and treats them like his own.”

About: I have owned a dog since I was 8 years so for 13 years I have lived with a dog. I successfully navigated college with a dog and became a dog walker two years ago for a full time job. I am best at building relationships with the dogs and gaining their respect. I have trained difficult breeds as puppies and I also have much experience with senior care, including bowel problems, joint and bone problems, and distributing medicine. Out of the 15 jobs I have worked since I was old enough to work, this is my favorite one! I find time every day to implement pet care because it has become a part of my own routine as I enjoy it very much! I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of both the space and the pet’s habits, whether that means sticking to feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate routines, or just giving them extra attention and playtime. I know every animal is different, so I try to pay attention to their personality and energy level instead of forcing them into a routine that doesn’t fit them. I also prioritize safety during walks and visits by keeping pets supervised, avoiding unsafe environments, double-checking gates/leashes, and making sure they have fresh water, exercise, and a calm environment (and of course cuddles and attention.) I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so I want them to feel relaxed and cared for while their owners are away.

I have older children who grew up around animals and who also happen to absolutely love dogs (and all animals). They will often help play and socialize with them if appropriate. I have experience caring for senior dogs, blind dogs and pets with special needs (i.e. medication and specific diet/nutritional requirements). I currently work from home and grateful to have a flexible schedule so I can prioritize caring for your furry friends and take them on walks as much as possible. I work from home and available for pet sitting, walking and boarding. I love to walk/hike be outside (morning, afternoon and evening) and available 7 days a week! I am conveniently located by Marin Country Mart by Larkspur Courts Apartments with amazing dog walking trails, a dog park and pond. Lots of opportunities for socializing with other friendly dogs in the neighborhood. I work from home so can take your pup outside anytime and make sure they get enough exercise and sunshine. We have walking paths steps away with a dog park (if you like) and duck pond and other trails along Corte Madera creek and Marin County Mart in Larkspur. Lots of furry friends are welcome in this area!

Carter was great with my dog Nellie! She’s a senior dog with varying levels of energy depending on the day. I really appreciated that Carter took the time to do a meet and greet with us beforehand, he asked questions and listened and I felt really good about the walk we booked. When he came for the walk, he followed all my instructions and adapted to Nellie‘s needs for that day, making sure to have a little play time with her as well. He followed up with a thorough update. And I’ve already booked him for another walk!

Jackson is great with my dogs. I have one rescue who is very nervous with new people and strangers, particularly men. She warmed up to Jackson quickly as he knew to give her space and not engaged with her until she was more comfortable with his presence. Jackson is really great to work with. He’s responsive and responsible. I look forward to working with Jackson more times..

Marielle was exactly who we needed to help with our dogs; we're so grateful to have found her! She confidently handled our two dogs walking through the neighborhood, including one that has some leash aggression and one that is prone to eating whatever he can find. She was punctual, communicative, and reported all the details of the walks each day - including photos! We knew our dogs were in good hands; we'll definitely be contacting her again for future walks. She's the best!

Caroline was great to work with when coordinating a walk for my dog, gave very special attention to my dog (and got some great photos from their walk), and by the time Caroline brought my dog back from her walk, my typically shy dog was already ready to go out on a walk again with Caroline!

Sarah was excellent to work with -- communicative, friendly, and great with our girls. They are each 40lbs of energy and not the easiest to control sometimes -- but she worked with them to earn their trust and be their walk leader. Additionally, even though most of the walks were scheduled during a heat wave, zero complaints from Sarah, and she smartly knew to make the sure dogs didn't get overheated by limiting the distance and making sure they had water. Highly recommend her for anyone who is looking for a conscientious person to take care of their pets!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
