“Lauri has been an absolute savior to me and my two older German Shepherds for daily walks! She has been flexible, patient, and sweet with them, especially my one who was abused and is fearful. Highly recommend!”

“I have books Trisha several times in the past and will continue to do so. My dog is a working German Shepherd who needs a firmer hand but also can be very affectionate if she trusts you. Tricia knows how to handle her, and has earned her respect which can be seen by the photos showing her years at 45° and that goofy grin that only comes out when she's comfortable around somebody. If you have a working dog, I definitely recommend Tricia. 👍 ⭐ ⭐⭐ ⭐ ⭐”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and caring for them has always been second nature. I grew up with a dog and a duck, and have continuously lived in homes with cats and dogs through college and graduate school, so I’m very comfortable with their routines and behavior. I’ve also cared for pets for friends and family over the years, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and making sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while their owners are away. I understand the importance of consistency, attention, and keeping pets on their normal schedule. I also have three tortoises of my own, including one I’ve had for nearly 23 years, which has made me especially attentive to routines, environment, and long-term care. I am currently volunteering at the Kitten Nursery with the Peninsula Humane Society, where I help taking care of kittens too young for adoption. I have a very flexible schedule through freelance consulting work, which allows me to be available for pet care most days of the week, including weekdays and weekends. I can accommodate a variety of schedules, whether it’s regular visits or last-minute needs. The only consistent commitment I have is volunteering on Monday afternoons at the Peninsula Humane Society, but outside of that, I’m highly flexible and able to adjust to your pet’s routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, litter box or cleanup routines, exercise, and any specific preferences your pet is used to. I take a calm and patient approach, especially with shy or more independent pets, and make sure they feel comfortable in their own space. I also keep the home clean and organized, and treat it with the same respect I would my own. I’m attentive to any changes in behavior or health and will communicate updates regularly so you know how your pet is doing while you’re away.
“Ruby did an amazing job walking Enso! The meet and greet beforehand was super helpful in making sure Enso and I both felt comfortable with booking Ruby for the first time! She was on time, quick, efficient, and very communicative. Would highly recommend her and would definitely be booking her again in the near future ?”

About: I have lived with cats and a dog since I was a little kid. I have learned to take care of them and walk my dog around the neighborhood. Also, my aunt owned a small farm so I grew up around some bigger animals. (Recent pictures attached =) ) Currently I live in a small place in Burlingame so unfortunately, I don’t have place for a furry friend. Thus, I am looking forward to walk and play with your dog! I have a full time job but it has a pretty flexible schedule. I can adjust my agenda to walk your dog when it is more convenient for you. I an currently not ready to host a pet at my place but as soon as a I have a bigger space your pet will be welcomed.

“Allison has been such an amazing "friend" to our dog, Kona. We can tell how much Kona is loved and cared for while we are away at work and school. We get regular updates on how Kona is doing, including pictures! Would definitely recommend Allison for your dog's needs!”
About: Taking care of dogs started for me with my wonderful and energetic Airedale in my teens and twenties, and continues as a dedicated uncle to my sister’s 4 dogs (yes 4!). I am the guy my friends consistently ask to pet sit when they leave town. I also take pride in leaving your house as nice as when arrived. For long stays or short, I’m happy to help. I am currently working part time nearby and I am not planning holiday travel, so I’ll have plenty of time for quality visits with your dogs! Your pets and your home environment are important to you. I will exercise the utmost care with both and make sure you feel comfortable entrusting me with either or both.
“I was in Tahoe and couldn't return home, so I urgently needed someone to walk my dog. Yao helped quickly despite my absence. Thank you very much for walking Ruby twice, in the morning and evening, on short notice.”

“I am really happy to have found Emmily. She is great at communicating, is always on time and is putting in the effort to get to know my dog (who takes a while to meet new people). I highly recommend her!”

“Doug is a fabulous dog walker/runner! My large energetic dog LOVES him, and my family trusts Doug 100%. Mature, responsible, experienced, reliable. He really cares about our dog and returns him safe, happy, and tired! Very grateful for his help.”

About: Having raised my own puppy and dogsat for friends with anxious pups, I'm well versed in how to provide for a pup's full time needs. I can also provide puppy training in house manners (for example: waiting patiently to be fed, waiting at doors, simple commands). My care and attention to my own puppy, Chef, is full time and I am super excited to share that with your pup. We can go on excursions or hang around the house or play fetch at the dogpark. Whatever your pup is up for. I have a fenced yard and a friendly pup for your pup(s) to play with! And if your pup doesn't want company for whatever reason, I have gates and crates to make sure they are safe and happy in their own space. Feel free to request photos/videos and check in anytime for updates.
“Erica was very gracious with my dog! My shy/lazy dog didn’t necessarily want to go for walks with a new person, but Erica was patient in building a relationship with my dog, which i really appreciated!”

“Shirley's sister took care my old and stubborn dog very well. She doesn't force him to walk long, she read the dog's needs. My dog is healthy and happy to see her everyday. She communicated well with me also, sent me not only pictures, but also a detailed description about Milo's behavior and status.”

About: I have taken care of and been around many dogs since childhood. Growing up, my first dog was a Jack Russell Terrier. We got him in 2009 and he lived a happy active life until 2021. In 2022, I adopted an Australian Cattle/Great Dane mix. I also have experience caring for and looking after Golden Retrievers, Labradors, Maltese, Pitbulls, and Dachshunds. My schedule is highly flexible! I am able to switch my schedule to my client's needs to make sure their pet is taken care of. I am available on weekdays, weekends, and most holidays. My dog is super friendly and loves having doggy friends around. I am able to go on long walks and spend time doing enriching activities.
About: I specialize in high-energy, anxious and dogs with medical needs. I have loved all animals all my life. I currently live with my fur baby, Potato. I hope to meet your pets and show them just as much love while getting their needs met. Super detail oriented so please let me know if your pet need any special treatment. I’m currently looking for some additional income and what better way than to spend it with your special fur baby! I’ll take care of them as if they were my own. When it comes to how I care for my dog, that is how I will care for yours. I do not allow Potato to say hello to other dogs while on leash. We cross the street if there are super reactive dogs. I am very aware of our surroundings and do not allow any scavenging. I try to encourage loose leash walking, but I also so don’t mind a more high pace walk.
About: I believe that I have a great balance in calm energy plus fun moments to let your pet have a wonderful day, no bored but also not anxious. I have flexible agenda once for now I’m Uber and pet sitter: I’m available to spend full weekends or just one or few hours for you and your pet. I’m great to make notes and do what is the client preference. I like to follow the recommendations. Very responsible and always on time. I’m also paying attention on the cleaning, health signs, energy, gut. I’m from health care and my best friend is vetenerian so we talk a lot about pet health.
San Mateo Park dog parents share their Rover experiences
Ray was great with Jimi! Jimi is leash reactive and not friendly with other dogs, plus he is very strong, so I’m always worried when someone else walks him. But I felt extremely confident with Ray walking him. He also spent extra time with Jimi and they played in the backyard after each walk. Additionally, I appreciated how communicative Ray was with me and all the pictures that he sent while I was away. I can’t recommend Ray enough!

Lauri is absolutely amazing with our anxious rescue Piper. From the very first meet-and-greet where she showed up in bright colored leggings so that Piper could identify her, to her very patient steps to build trust and rapport with our pup and each family member (even remembering career paths and school trips!), Lauri is nothing but pure heart, sincerity, and kindness. This particular neighborhood walk turned into last minute daycare on our mutual continual conversations, when we all could see Piper coming out of her shell. One of Lauri’s many great talents is being able to discern the limits of our Piper — when to challenge her and when to give her space — and this gift has been rewarded with Piper welcoming Lauri with a greater speed than she ever has anyone else. We are thrilled to have found Lauri and know that she will be folded into our village for years to come.

va did an amazing job caring for and walking my dog, Riley, while I was traveling. She was extremely professional, responsive, and reliable throughout the entire process, which gave me a great deal of peace of mind while away. The biggest sign of how wonderful she was is that Riley was incredibly happy, calm, and content when I returned home. It was clear he was very well cared for and comfortable with her. I truly appreciated the communication and attention she provided, and I would absolutely work with her again in the future. Highly recommend!

Rebecca has been absolutely amazing with my dog Minnie!! You can instantly tell how much she genuinely loves dogs and cares about them. She’s super sweet, reliable, and always kept me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind. My dog was so happy and well cared for every time. I’m so glad I found someone like her and will definitely be using her again. Highly recommend!
