“Melissa did an amazing job taking care of my dog! She made sure my dog felt right at home. I really appreciated the photo updates and messages—it was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for my dog was while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!”

“Kimberly and her family were fantastic. My dog seemed super happy during her stay. I received a photo and note every night. I will definitely be booking with them in the future.”

“Riley was an outstanding sitter for our pup! He is a blind 10 yr old and she took the best care of him. She gave us updates throughout his stay and I really appreciated the pictures. If we’re ever in the area again, I would definitely trust Riley and she is our go to.”

“We cannot recommend Dana enough! We recently moved to the Baltimore area and were searching for a new dog sitter to help when we're away. Having some negative experiences with boarding, we were a little hesitant, but Dana was perfect! She cared for our two dogs as if they were her own and sent daily updates with pictures. Both dogs came back calm and happy. We will absolutely be using Dana again.”

“Elaine and her husband were amazing with our two senior Frenchies. She was very responsive, accommodating and professional in setting up the sitting. She sent us pics of the pups during the stay and was super flexible with pickup and drop off times. It was the perfect situation for us, we hope Elaine will be able to watch them again in the future.”

“Candice was so sweet with our girl! Kept in touch and sent pictures every day. She even accommodated her need to sleep near people😂. Our flight was delayed and she took the stress out of the whole thing. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Celena was great with our 7 month old pup, Ace! He had so much fun at her house. She sent us many pictures and videos several times a day and for all of them he was playing and have the best time with her dog and her family. We would definitely book Celena again!”

“We couldn’t be happier with Janice and Stalio! They didn’t balk at any of our special requests, of which there were several including giving meds, medicated baths, belly band changes and not leaving our Chihuahua alone, and without a lap for too long. The dogs didn’t greet us with their usual excitement when we returned, which we take to mean that they were spoiled beyond belief. We are supremely grateful to have found J & S!”

“Crystal is amazing! She made sure from our zoom meeting to the pick up of my puppy, that we communicated well & that my puppy Nami was safe and happy! I appreciate her attentiveness to Nami, she sent daily updates and pics! I will definitely use her services again! Thanks Crystal!”

“Jessica was great with our Remmie. She asked all the right questions ahead of time, and during the stay we received regular photos and updates. Will definitely want to have our girl visit again.”

About: I have grown up with medium to large sized dogs my whole life. I have experience with very friendly dogs and dogs that cannot play with others as well as puppies to older dogs. I have cared for my own pets and friends while growing up and can be trusted with any task to ensure your pets needs and safety! I can offer dog walking in the mornings (7-9am) or afternoons (4-7pm) during the week or anytime during the weekends. I am available on the weekends to check-in or stay with your animal overnight as well. I can check-in and care for your animal during the day or overnight at clients homes. I will ensure your pet is fed, walked, bathed, played with and let outside for their needs. I am comfortable with any specific instructions from the owners as well (medication that needs to be taken, crate training, etc).
“Barbara was absolutely what I had been searching for. I wanted someone to care for Bentley as if he was their own. I needed to have a person that understands pups that are somewhat privileged (spoiled). Bentley was cared for and loved on and was never exposed to danger. Barbara cared for Bentkey so well that he became possessive when her when her pup Justice wanted her attention. Barbara is an A1 sitter and I would use her again.”

“I would leave 6 - Stars if I could. My fur baby was well taken care of. Donna and her husband were excellent hosts. Their love for pets was very obvious. I truly hope I have the opportunity to board my baby with them again.”

“Sari did an amazing job with Rusty! From the drop off I could tell she was incredibly attentive to his needs and getting him comfortable in her home. She did an excellent job keeping us updated throughout his stay. If your dog loves long walks, you MUST book Sari. She said over his 4 day stay, she walked him at least 18 miles. He came back happy and relaxed.”

“Raynell was amazing! When I pulled up she came outside and talked with me briefly and I completely felt comfortable with her immediately! If I had any questions or concerns she answered them quickly - I would recommend her to anyone!”

“Maria was responsive to my messages, she sent lots of pictures and videos which looked like my dog was having a blast playing with other pups. Honestly she was probably sad to come home! Lol Will definitely use Maria again in the future if the need arises.”

We were lucky enough to have Julia care for Remmie on two occasions - one full day and one overnight. On both stays Julia provided clear instructions for pickup and drop off as well as regular updates. She even took Remmie to the local park, which meant she came home tired but happy! We would call on Julia again and highly recommend her as a sitter.

Amy is fabulous! She watched our dog for 2 weeks while we were out of the country and we didn’t have to worry about him at all! She sent us lots of pictures, videos, and updates and was very accommodating when we were scheduling his meet and greet and his stay. She has a large fenced in yard and our dog was super happy to be able to play outside so often. She has an awesome room just for the pets to stay in if she has to leave the house and our dog was just as comfortable there as he is at home. Our dog did not even want to get in the car to leave when I picked him up. And she even sent him home with 2 new toys! Definitely recommend and will for sure be using her again next time we need a pet sitter!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
