“Fantastic - Amazing - Wonderful! Yukia was a great communicator from the start. We talked before we brought our rascal over. We even did a meet and greet just to make sure he would take to her - and he sure did! During our trip she sent daily photos and updates, and our kids could not wait to get them every day. I could tell when I went to pick him up that he was very happy to be with her. For a quick moment he could not decide if he wanted to stay with her or come back home. It was his first time with someone else and she obviously took great care of him. There is no doubt that we have found our pet sitter for good!”

“Riley was an outstanding sitter for our pup! He is a blind 10 yr old and she took the best care of him. She gave us updates throughout his stay and I really appreciated the pictures. If we’re ever in the area again, I would definitely trust Riley and she is our go to.”

“Debra and her family were AMAZING! Super patient and understanding with all of my doggies quirks and needs! Holly loved playing with her kids! We will be staying with them again. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my girl!”

About: I have grown up with medium to large sized dogs my whole life. I have experience with very friendly dogs and dogs that cannot play with others as well as puppies to older dogs. I have cared for my own pets and friends while growing up and can be trusted with any task to ensure your pets needs and safety! I can offer dog walking in the mornings (7-9am) or afternoons (4-7pm) during the week or anytime during the weekends. I am available on the weekends to check-in or stay with your animal overnight as well. I can check-in and care for your animal during the day or overnight at clients homes. I will ensure your pet is fed, walked, bathed, played with and let outside for their needs. I am comfortable with any specific instructions from the owners as well (medication that needs to be taken, crate training, etc).
“Nadia has become our go-to for pet sitting! She and her entire family treat our dog like one of their own, and we always get the best updates and videos showing just how much fun our pup is having. It gives us total peace of mind knowing our dog is so well loved and cared for 😊”

“Diana was amazing! Prior to his stay, she did a meet and greet with my little guy. Immediately, I could tell she was very caring and knowledgeable about the care and needs of older dogs. I walked away from that first meeting feeling very comfortable leaving my dog in her care. She provided daily updates on him which put me at ease even more and when my return was delayed she was able to keep him an extra day. As I said, she is an amazing sitter. If you are looking for someone that will love your dog like their own, then she is the one. I will definitely book her again when I need a pet sitter.”

About: As stated, I have an 8 almost 8 year old German Shepherd myself. I’ve trained him myself to be quite obedient off leash, to listen well, and overall he’s very well behaved. I’ve grown up with dogs, cats, turtles and more so I know my way around animals. I’m currently enlisted in the United States Navy. I work at the Naval Academy typically from around 9 in the morning to about 3pm most days. I’m also married with two kids and my wife is a stay at home mom who can also look after your furry friends as well. I don’t work weekends so I’m always available during the weekends and can be flexible throughout the week as well. At my home my dog is never crated he is always out and house trained. However, when looking after your fur babies if they need to be crated I have no issue catering to your needs. I don’t have a yard but we have a massive field and live in a circle so long walks are always a must. Whatever the needs of your fur babies, I can take care of those from daily dog walking, spending and playing time with your animals, staying over night at yours/my place, and giving g medicine if needed.
“Amy was fantastic with our little guy. She was flexible when our plans changed right at the last minute and communicated with us very well. This was our second time taking our pup to be with Amy and I’m sure there will be more visits to come. Thanks Amy!”

“Brittany took exceptional care of our dog, Cosmo. She sent multiple pictures and videos everyday. As well as keeping us up to date on his welfare. If Cosmo could talk, lol, I’m sure he’d say her children and all their attention towards him made his stay fun. We were worried he would not want leave. 5 stars!”

“This was Tytus' first time away from us since his birth almost 5 years ago. Angela gave us a since of peace and comfort by providing us daily updates via text, photos, and videos. She and her daughter took great care of Tytus with giving him lots of love and hugs, which his very spoiled sweet spirit demands. I've already booked my next appointment and I would highly recommend her multiple services, which are flexible and reasonable. Thank you Angela for your exceptional service!”

“Ciara and Tariq were amazing host to our baby Cassie. They were in constant communication and took amazing care of her. Definitely will book again and highly recommend her.”

“Naya was excellent with our dog and with us, sending many photos and videos during his stay. Knowing that our Rylo was in such good hands was a true comfort. We hope this will be the first of many stays with Naya.”

“Melissa did an amazing job taking care of my dog! She made sure my dog felt right at home. I really appreciated the photo updates and messages—it was so reassuring to see how happy and well cared for my dog was while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!”

“Amazing!! First timer here and was very nervous about leaving our baby, but Megan made sure to send us videos and photos and keep us updated. She was very nice and she took great care of our fur baby!”

“I booked Joann for my two dogs a little over a week and they were super happy! They care for the dogs and send me picture updates which was very nice to know what they were doing. Thank you! :)”

“Ashley was an absolute lifesaver! She came to our rescue at the last minute, and took excellent care of my Rebel. Ashley sent pictures everyday, and Rebel came home a happy boy.”

“Kacie was absolutely fantastic! Extremely flexible, took great care of Juno, and sent us lots of videos of their play. Juno is a very happy pup and cannot wait to go back. My highest possible recommendation.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arnold
Candice was absolutely wonderful! She took such great care of our pup while we went out of town. And she was so easy to work with. She provided updates each day and cared for our dog just as we requested. To put this into perspective, we never board our dog and usually only book vacations where he can be included, but we couldn’t take him on this trip, so I reached out to Candice. She was very accommodating and I felt at ease leaving our beloved Aussie with her. We will absolutely book with Candice in the future!
This was Tibs’ second time staying with Keerin and her family and he had a great if not better time than the first! Keerin has such a happy home and our boy got tons of love from her, her family, and their dog, Boomer. They sent plenty of happy picture updates. They treat Tibs like family and he loves staying with them! I would recommend them to anyone.

Finding a sitter like Timothy is such a gift. He provided top-notch care for our 10-year-old Corgi, Jazz. It was so reassuring to receive daily photos of Jazz on her walks, at the park, or just having a blast in his fantastic fenced-in yard. Thanks to Timothy's excellent communication and clear love for animals, we were able to relax and enjoy our time away, knowing she was happy and safe.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
