“Candice was so sweet with our girl! Kept in touch and sent pictures every day. She even accommodated her need to sleep near people😂. Our flight was delayed and she took the stress out of the whole thing. Can’t recommend enough!”

“Celena was great with our 7 month old pup, Ace! He had so much fun at her house. She sent us many pictures and videos several times a day and for all of them he was playing and have the best time with her dog and her family. We would definitely book Celena again!”

“I was a little nervous leaving our sweet pup for so long but Katie made sure we get constant updates and pictures of what’s going on. She has a safe and cozy home and made our pup very comfortable. It’s good to know we have her to watch our pup when we go out of town.”

“This was Tytus' first time away from us since his birth almost 5 years ago. Angela gave us a since of peace and comfort by providing us daily updates via text, photos, and videos. She and her daughter took great care of Tytus with giving him lots of love and hugs, which his very spoiled sweet spirit demands. I've already booked my next appointment and I would highly recommend her multiple services, which are flexible and reasonable. Thank you Angela for your exceptional service!”

“Tanya was excellent with my girl Xena. Xena takes some time to warm up to people, and Tanya was excellent making sure she was comfortable in her home while she adjusted. Tanya gave me regular photo and video updates while I was away, I had no worries, and knew she was in excellent hands. 110% would use Tanya again for boarding.”

“Fantastic - Amazing - Wonderful! Yukia was a great communicator from the start. We talked before we brought our rascal over. We even did a meet and greet just to make sure he would take to her - and he sure did! During our trip she sent daily photos and updates, and our kids could not wait to get them every day. I could tell when I went to pick him up that he was very happy to be with her. For a quick moment he could not decide if he wanted to stay with her or come back home. It was his first time with someone else and she obviously took great care of him. There is no doubt that we have found our pet sitter for good!”

“From the meet and greet, to the time for pick up, Sabrina and Ryan made this booking easy and painless. My two dogs came home happy and clean and definitely had been well cared for.”

“I am sooooo happy that I found Ashley! She's amazing with Gracie and I am fully at ease while traveling knowing that she is being well taken care of. She keeps me updated daily and I so appreciate that she does it without me having to ask. Ashley is now my go-to sitter!!”

“Megan was great! We enjoyed getting photo and video updates. She made our dog feel right at home and helped our dog get more comfortable with being around other dogs.”

“I booked Joann for my two dogs a little over a week and they were super happy! They care for the dogs and send me picture updates which was very nice to know what they were doing. Thank you! :)”

If you would like additional updates, I charge $5 per update per day. 3 updates per day would be $10 extra per day.
“As a first time user of Rover and first time search for a cat sitter, Elena definitely set the standard. From the first contact, Elena was incredibly responsive, very kind, and extremely welcoming of my babies. Elena and her children took such good care of my babies, as they allowed them space to adjust while being open to their affection as they warmed up. I had peace of mind that my babies were in good hands as she invited them into her home with open arms. When I picked Pocket and Rocket up, they were so soft from freshly brushed hair and calmer to get back into the car. I would absolutely recommend Elena to take care of your cats, as they will get plenty of cuddles, play time, and freedom to explore their new space. Thank you, Elena and kids!!”

“Sari did an amazing job with Rusty! From the drop off I could tell she was incredibly attentive to his needs and getting him comfortable in her home. She did an excellent job keeping us updated throughout his stay. If your dog loves long walks, you MUST book Sari. She said over his 4 day stay, she walked him at least 18 miles. He came back happy and relaxed.”

“Ruth took wonderful care of our puppy! She sent pics and updated us so we would know she was doing well. She is very patient and kept her close by wether she was eating or sleeping.”

“Justin was amazing! He took such great care of Zoie and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. He sent regular updates and photos, and it was clear that Zoie was happy and well cared for. I highly recommend Justin and will definitely book with him again!”

“Elizabeth was great! She was really flexible, allowing us to come rather late at night to pick our dog up because we were taking a late flight back home. She took great care of Libby, who came back worn out from all the fun she had with Elizabeth's dogs and other guests. Would definitely have Libby stay with her again!”

“Fidel and Melissa are really excellent in handling animals. They are kind but set boundaries for the dogs they watch! Their very inciteful in offering their expertise on your animals for the betterment of their care! They have a beautiful family and are very caring people!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Severna Park
Our pets felt right at home with Janice and Stalio. They were so welcoming, helpful and accommodating with our boys. They kept us up to date daily with pictures and messages and even helped us out with making them their food because we miscounted the amount we sent. They provided amazing care and we look forward to rebooking with them in the future.

Alexis has been an absolute standout on Rover, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. From the start, she demonstrated a level of reliability and professionalism that immediately put us at ease. She is consistently punctual, communicative, and thoughtful in how she approaches every aspect of caring for our dog. What really sets Alexis apart is her attention to detail and genuine care. She took the time to understand our dog’s routines, preferences, and quirks, and it showed in how comfortable and happy our dog was in her care. We received regular updates, photos, and notes, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Beyond her dependability, Alexis carries herself with a high level of professionalism—you can tell she takes this responsibility seriously. She’s organized, responsive, and goes the extra mile without being asked. If you’re looking for someone you can trust completely with your pet and your home, Alexis is that person. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found her and will absolutely continue working with her in the future.

Our dog Sierra received wonderful care with Kristin and her family -- very easy to communicate with, and we got regular updates of how she was doing. Kristin was very flexible when some of our travel plans had to be adjusted. We will definitely book again on our next trip!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
