“I was a little nervous leaving our sweet pup for so long but Katie made sure we get constant updates and pictures of what’s going on. She has a safe and cozy home and made our pup very comfortable. It’s good to know we have her to watch our pup when we go out of town.”

“Fabulous! Thank you! Chester (our adrenaline junkie border collie) is tired and had a great time with Gryph! Nice big backyard - easy to park and drop off. We’ll be back!”

“Alicia took great care of Blossom. Blossom had a great time over the holiday playing with the kids. I appreciate that Alicia sent pictures and videos every day. I appreciated the family environment for Blossom. I would recommend Alicia she is very good with puppies. I know Blossom can be a handful at times, but Alicia handles her with great care. Blossom was a part of the family while she was there. Thank you so much!”

“Tiffany took great care of Marvin and was very responsive. She shared photos without having to ask. We would definitely leave Marvin in her care again!”

“Marta has become our go-to day care provider and boarder, and we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have found her. Our dog, Miss Charlie, has stayed with Marta approximately five times now, including the recent Thanksgiving holiday. Each time, Charlie has had a fantastic experience. This last time included a wonderfully special Thanksgiving meal featuring turkey and sweet potatoes! As an overly protective dog mom, finding someone who cares for your pup as much as you do can be challenging. However, I can confidently say that Marta loves our dog just as much as we do. We have complete trust in her, and her professional-quality pictures not only keep us informed but also make us miss our pup even more—they are so cute! If you're in search of an exceptional sitter for your pup, look no further. Marta is, without a doubt, the best choice. We highly recommend her!”

“Peggy is so patient with my elderly daschund.... My dog has stayed with her a few times..upon picking him up he is always in good spirits and 'tells' me he was was fed and was very much at home with Peggy. We appreciate her patience as he can be demanding in his old age!”

“Jasmine was very accommodating so that we could meet before the booking, even though it was a bit of a last-minute for a holiday weekend. Cucumber immediately became comfortable with Jasmine and her home. Jasmine send us a bunch of pics of our baby and made us feel very comfortable leaving Cucumber for longer than she's ever been away before. I absolutely would recommend Jasmine!”

“Justine did an amazing job boarding my golden retriever, Gibson, for 4 nights. Communication was great, drop-off and pickup were easy, and Gibson came home happy and relaxed. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. I had zero concerns while I was away, and I’d absolutely book with her again. Highly recommend.”

“We had a great experience with Jackalyn our dog sitter. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about Sasha’s well-being. We received regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Sasha came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. We really appreciated the attention to detail and the genuine affection shown to her. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend Jackalyn to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog sitter”

“Dan stayed with Jillian for two weeks and I felt confident that he was in good hands. She took special care of him during thunderstorms and the 4th of July fireworks. She sent regular updates and pics of Dan. He looked like he was right at home and had a great time playing with the other dogs. We’ll board him there for our next trip.”

“Nicole was great... my puppy Pearl has found a home away from home! She sent photos and updates during Pearls stay. I have already booked Pearls next visit. Nicole thank you sooooo much!”

“Very understanding and patient with my two pit bulls! Took them to the dog park every day and gave them lots of attention. I received daily updates and pictures! Definitely recommend!”

“Angie and her family gave Stark one of the happiest weeks he has ever had with any sitter. From May 12–17, we received nonstop updates, photos, videos, and hilarious messages that made it obvious he was being treated like part of their family. Every single day we could see how relaxed, loved, entertained, and completely at home he was. What impressed us most was how personal and attentive Angie was. She paid attention to Stark’s personality, routines, favorite activities, and even his moods. By the end of the stay he had apparently become a “country dog,” joined family movie night, made himself at home with the other pups, and spent his days running around outside living his absolute best life. The communication was exceptional. We never once had to wonder how he was doing because Angie constantly kept us updated with thoughtful check ins and genuinely funny commentary. You can tell she truly loves dogs and enjoys caring for them, which makes a massive difference. She even bathed and dried him before pickup after all of his outdoor adventures. That level of care and consideration says everything. Finding someone trustworthy is important. Finding someone who loves your dog like their own is rare. Angie is that person. We are incredibly grateful to have found her and will absolutely book with her again. Highly, highly recommend.”

“I cannot say enough great things about Liz & Jeff. They treated my pup like one of their own his entire stay. They sent me so many pictures and video updates which was so reassuring since I had to go out of town super last minute. I was 30 minutes late picking my pup up due to traffic and they were so accommodating and understanding. 10/10 recommend them! I will definitely be using them again :) thanks again Liz & Jeff!”

About: Dog mom to a friendly 3-year-old Lab mix and passionate about providing loving, attentive care. I’ve owned a dog for the past 12 years, but grew up caring for my friends and neighbors pets. Your pup will enjoy plenty of attention, walks on the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail, or relaxed time in our fenced backyard. Whether they’re young and energetic or a senior who prefers a slower pace, I’ll treat them like family and care for them as if they were my own. For boarding, during the work week we are not home from 8:30-2:30. We will be home all day on the weekends. For walking and drop ins, I am available in the afternoon and evening during the week, all day on the weekends. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. We have a secure fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely play, explore, and enjoy time outdoors. We have indoor cameras to monitor the house while we are at work. Our friendly 3-year-old Lab mix loves meeting new canine friends and provides great companionship for visiting dogs. I carefully supervise all interactions and make sure each dog feels comfortable in our home. We have an 11 year old and 6 year old that both grew up with a dog and are very caring and respectful of boundaries. They will be supervised while with your dog. Whether your pup enjoys active play, relaxing in the yard, or extra attention and cuddles, they’ll be treated like a member of the family in a safe, loving, and trustworthy environment.
“Lucia kept us up to date with our dog activities by frequently sending us pictures and we really enjoyed them. From the pictures, we could see that our dog was happy. We will definitely bring our dog to her next time we are going out of town again.”

We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter than Olga! She was absolutely wonderful with our senior dog, taking the extra time and care needed to keep them comfortable and happy. Administering multiple medications can always be a bit stressful, but Olga handled the routine flawlessly and gave us total peace of mind while we were away. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
