“My Blue came home happy! Marliez was great, she sent tons of pictures and gave me reassurance my fur baby was having a good stay. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Lovely couple with a baby and a toddler. Buffy had to warm up to Parker, their German Shepherd but I hear it went well. Tyler and wife watched Buffy on a holiday, July 4th. They were very gracious when I requested an itinerary change. I felt like they were really attuned to Buff-dog. Will definitely ask again for their assistance.Highly recommend.”

“Melissa and Thomas are fantastic! I was anxious as this was the first time Oreo had stayed away since we got her almost two years ago, but Melissa and Thomas were great and she settled really quickly. I really appreciated the quick notes, photos and videos! Oreo will beck for her next stay very soon, and neither of us will be anxious this time! Thanks so much!!”

“Mady was so kind and caring. She treated our Cooper with such love. We received many pictures and updates. I highly recommend her and will not hesitate to use her again. She is a top pick.”

“James was wonderful caring for my senior dog with special needs. He kept me well informed daily and sent many beautiful pictures. Excellent care, communication, and flexibility! Highly recommend!”

“Maizie is a very shy girl with people. So dropping her at a sitter is usually a bit difficult for her. Elaine had 2 other dogs arriving too which brings Maizie out of her funk. She had a blast running around the fenced yard. All in all she came home very happy.”

“This was Tytus' first time away from us since his birth almost 5 years ago. Angela gave us a since of peace and comfort by providing us daily updates via text, photos, and videos. She and her daughter took great care of Tytus with giving him lots of love and hugs, which his very spoiled sweet spirit demands. I've already booked my next appointment and I would highly recommend her multiple services, which are flexible and reasonable. Thank you Angela for your exceptional service!”

“Our first visit was so smooth. My dog seemed immediately comfortable with Katie. She sent pictures through the weekend and was flexible with pickup times. We are already looking to rebook her for next month. Thanks Katie?”
About: As stated, I have an 8 almost 8 year old German Shepherd myself. I’ve trained him myself to be quite obedient off leash, to listen well, and overall he’s very well behaved. I’ve grown up with dogs, cats, turtles and more so I know my way around animals. I’m currently enlisted in the United States Navy. I work at the Naval Academy typically from around 9 in the morning to about 3pm most days. I’m also married with two kids and my wife is a stay at home mom who can also look after your furry friends as well. I don’t work weekends so I’m always available during the weekends and can be flexible throughout the week as well. At my home my dog is never crated he is always out and house trained. However, when looking after your fur babies if they need to be crated I have no issue catering to your needs. I don’t have a yard but we have a massive field and live in a circle so long walks are always a must. Whatever the needs of your fur babies, I can take care of those from daily dog walking, spending and playing time with your animals, staying over night at yours/my place, and giving g medicine if needed.
About: I've had dogs since I was 9 years old. Friends and family rely on me to walk and feed their dogs. I love playing and caring for dogs! I mostly work from home during the week so I am able to be fully present and attentive to those I am watching during that time. I stick to a schedule based on what their owner has told me what their needs are. I like to stick to their walking and feeding routine, as well as gaining their trust so they are comfortable in my home.
“Elena is confident, professional, and I felt secure while my dog was under her care. She asked the necessary prescreening questions to ensure it was a good fit- which I appreciated. There were plenty of long walks, beach trips, photo updates, and play time with Elena & family. Would highly recommend and will be looking to rebook in the future. Thank you Elena!”

“Nichole was amazing! I was new to Rover and after our meet and greet, I was positive I was leaving my dog in capable hands. While I was away, Nichole sent me pics of my fur baby, which eased my mind. He wasn’t even thinking about me lol! I will definitely be reaching out to Nichole for future stays.”

“Ruth took great care of our senior dog. She provided daily updates and he seemed very content and relaxed when he came home. We would definitely ask Ruth to watch our dog again.”

“Megan was great! We enjoyed getting photo and video updates. She made our dog feel right at home and helped our dog get more comfortable with being around other dogs.”

“Jake and Melissa were FABULOUS caring for our Max! We received regular updates, pictures and videos which really helped to know Max was enjoying himself and was is safe hands. He was part of their family! We are so grateful to have found Jake and Melissa on Rover - no more kennel for Max!”

“Really appreciated Noor and her family caring for my 4 legged son. Especially since it was last minute. After a night of getting use to everyone he was settled. Thank you for being patient and understanding with him. This is the first time in a long while he has come back home without being stressed or anxious. You really made him feel like home!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Debra. She was AMAZING. Communicated with me often throughout her stay, sent pictures and loved my baby like I would. I was nervous to leave her with someone else for the first time but Debra made me feel comfortable. Thanks so much Debra!!”

“We used Kacie for two nights of dog boarding and she was awesome! Excellent communication, sent lots of photos/videos, daily walks and dog park visits. Our dog was in good hands and it was obvious he enjoyed his time with Kacie and Blu. We will definitely be booking with Kacie again and highly recommend her to anyone else.”

Katie made Rosie feel right at home right away. Rosie has always been a bit slow to come around. She sent plenty of photos and videos and was very responsive. She even responded within minutes after we had picked up Rosie when I accidentally called her. She genuinely has a caring heart. Definitely recommend her.
This is Maggie’s second stay with Lindsay and we are so grateful to have found someone like her to take such good care of Maggie while we were gone for 3 weeks. We received photos and videos daily and Lindsay is very responsive, great at communication, and most importantly our pup is so happy with her! Thank you Lindsay for being the absolute best dog sitter! We will definitely come back :)

We were lucky enough to have Julia care for Remmie on two occasions - one full day and one overnight. On both stays Julia provided clear instructions for pickup and drop off as well as regular updates. She even took Remmie to the local park, which meant she came home tired but happy! We would call on Julia again and highly recommend her as a sitter.

Amy is fabulous! She watched our dog for 2 weeks while we were out of the country and we didn’t have to worry about him at all! She sent us lots of pictures, videos, and updates and was very accommodating when we were scheduling his meet and greet and his stay. She has a large fenced in yard and our dog was super happy to be able to play outside so often. She has an awesome room just for the pets to stay in if she has to leave the house and our dog was just as comfortable there as he is at home. Our dog did not even want to get in the car to leave when I picked him up. And she even sent him home with 2 new toys! Definitely recommend and will for sure be using her again next time we need a pet sitter!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
