“Angela was amazing! She was so kind, attentive, and kept our dog active and happy while we were away. She is a true animal lover! We really appreciated all the updates, photos, and videos, it gave us so much peace of mind. Highly recommend her and would absolutely book again! 🐾”

“Celena was great with our 7 month old pup, Ace! He had so much fun at her house. She sent us many pictures and videos several times a day and for all of them he was playing and have the best time with her dog and her family. We would definitely book Celena again!”

“Candice was great with our Bo. She sent loads of pictures (which we loved) and kept us up to date on feeding/sleeping schedules. We especially appreciated her flexibility on the pick up time. Thank you!!”

About: I have grown up with medium to large sized dogs my whole life. I have experience with very friendly dogs and dogs that cannot play with others as well as puppies to older dogs. I have cared for my own pets and friends while growing up and can be trusted with any task to ensure your pets needs and safety! I can offer dog walking in the mornings (7-9am) or afternoons (4-7pm) during the week or anytime during the weekends. I am available on the weekends to check-in or stay with your animal overnight as well. I can check-in and care for your animal during the day or overnight at clients homes. I will ensure your pet is fed, walked, bathed, played with and let outside for their needs. I am comfortable with any specific instructions from the owners as well (medication that needs to be taken, crate training, etc).
“Megan was great! We enjoyed getting photo and video updates. She made our dog feel right at home and helped our dog get more comfortable with being around other dogs.”

“This Tiko’s second time staying with Yousef and we couldn’t be happier, they are communicative and always send pics. Tiko is always happy when he returns and there is little to no anxiety. I can tell that he truly enjoys his time there!”

“Marta was fantastic with our 6-month-old Basset Hound, Charlie!! It was my first time ever leaving a pet with anyone and she made it so easy. I received multiple updates each day with pictures, videos and text. It was great to see him with his new friends having such a good time! When I picked Charlie up, five days later, I told her that I never worried about him the entire trip. We missed him, but knew that he was in good hands! I highly recommend Marta and will definitely take Charlie back when needed! Thank you Marta for everything!”

About: As stated, I have an 8 almost 8 year old German Shepherd myself. I’ve trained him myself to be quite obedient off leash, to listen well, and overall he’s very well behaved. I’ve grown up with dogs, cats, turtles and more so I know my way around animals. I’m currently enlisted in the United States Navy. I work at the Naval Academy typically from around 9 in the morning to about 3pm most days. I’m also married with two kids and my wife is a stay at home mom who can also look after your furry friends as well. I don’t work weekends so I’m always available during the weekends and can be flexible throughout the week as well. At my home my dog is never crated he is always out and house trained. However, when looking after your fur babies if they need to be crated I have no issue catering to your needs. I don’t have a yard but we have a massive field and live in a circle so long walks are always a must. Whatever the needs of your fur babies, I can take care of those from daily dog walking, spending and playing time with your animals, staying over night at yours/my place, and giving g medicine if needed.
“Janice and Stalio took amazing care of our dog Charlie! Couldn’t be happier with the experience and they were exceptionally understanding when our return flight was cancelled due to the winter storm and we were delayed coming home. Would highly recommend.”

“Kacie was absolutely fantastic! Extremely flexible, took great care of Juno, and sent us lots of videos of their play. Juno is a very happy pup and cannot wait to go back. My highest possible recommendation.”

“Eli took care of our rambunctious Nala girl for 5 days while in the Dominican Republic. We never had to worry about her and got updates of her walks. We can't wait for our next trips in the future knowing we have an expert caring for her!”

“Jasmine was wonderful with our dog, Sonic. Sonic was well-fed, walked, and played with when he was in Jasmine’s care. We received frequent texts and pictures. We didn’t have to worry about Sonic at all while we're away, and I highly recommend her".”

“This was our second time leaving our dog Peach with them and she had the best time. It was a relief to know that she was in such good hands while we were out of the country. Jill kept in contact and sent regular pictures. 10/10 recommend them and will continue to use them!”

“Dana was great with our 2 older but very active pitties. We're always a bit worried with a new sitter but she went above and beyond to make us (and them) feel comfortable and relaxed while we were gone. They loved being around her kids too which is a plus since they rarely get to play with kids anymore. We'll definitely use her again!”

“Andy boarded our two boys for a night and was very responsive, keeping us updated with pictures, and playing with them. Our dogs got along great with his dog Luna. When our dogs had behavioral problems Andy was honest and understanding about it. I trusted him completely to take good care of them. They seemed relaxed and happy to have been there.”

About: I've had dogs my whole life. Grew up in a house with 2+ dogs near constantly. All family dogs were 60+ lbs each with the largest being 110lbs. My 75lb dog crossed the rainbow bridge Sept 2025, I am not ready for a dog full time but I do miss the company. I will spoil your dog. I do not care about breed. I am looking for weekends. I work full time, so I am ready to go around noon on Friday and depending on the needs can be around all weekend. Generally I do leave the house during the weekend for a couple hours during the day to do chores and stuff but other than that can be a total home body. If the dog is good on leash I have a great neighborhood to take walks. If you are looking for me to stay at your house over the weekend, I can provide as much potty coverage as you request. If you want me to stay over the week, I do have a day job with my schedule being 7-3. I have a 8ft privacy fence the whole way around my backyard with a dog door. I do not have a crate, but I can use yours if you want your dog crated. I follow your food rules. I used to make hot breakfast/dinner for my dog. I do keep some dog treats in the house but I will check with you if your dog can have that specific treat first and if there are any dietary needs. If you want me to stay in your house, lets write the rules down and I'm happy to do whatever. If you have poor cellphone service, it'd be great to get a wifi password.
About: Dog mom to a friendly 3-year-old Lab mix and passionate about providing loving, attentive care. I’ve owned a dog for the past 12 years, but grew up caring for my friends and neighbors pets. Your pup will enjoy plenty of attention, walks on the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail, or relaxed time in our fenced backyard. Whether they’re young and energetic or a senior who prefers a slower pace, I’ll treat them like family and care for them as if they were my own. For boarding, during the work week we are not home from 8:30-2:30. We will be home all day on the weekends. For walking and drop ins, I am available in the afternoon and evening during the week, all day on the weekends. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. We have a secure fenced-in backyard where dogs can safely play, explore, and enjoy time outdoors. We have indoor cameras to monitor the house while we are at work. Our friendly 3-year-old Lab mix loves meeting new canine friends and provides great companionship for visiting dogs. I carefully supervise all interactions and make sure each dog feels comfortable in our home. We have an 11 year old and 6 year old that both grew up with a dog and are very caring and respectful of boundaries. They will be supervised while with your dog. Whether your pup enjoys active play, relaxing in the yard, or extra attention and cuddles, they’ll be treated like a member of the family in a safe, loving, and trustworthy environment.
“Elena did an amazing job with our Old English Sheepdog Lady. I could really tell that she loves taking care of animals, and she did a great job. Our dog was pretty nervous as she went to the vet the day before, but Eleana made her feel at home and I thank her for that. I highly recommend her.”

I am so glad I found Lindsay to watch my dog!! Giles had the absolutely best time playing with her dog and sleeping with them! Lindsay sent so many pictures and videos, which I loved, and Giles didn't want to leave when I came to pick him up! Her place is totally a doggie fun ranch.

We were lucky enough to have Julia care for Remmie on two occasions - one full day and one overnight. On both stays Julia provided clear instructions for pickup and drop off as well as regular updates. She even took Remmie to the local park, which meant she came home tired but happy! We would call on Julia again and highly recommend her as a sitter.

Amy is fabulous! She watched our dog for 2 weeks while we were out of the country and we didn’t have to worry about him at all! She sent us lots of pictures, videos, and updates and was very accommodating when we were scheduling his meet and greet and his stay. She has a large fenced in yard and our dog was super happy to be able to play outside so often. She has an awesome room just for the pets to stay in if she has to leave the house and our dog was just as comfortable there as he is at home. Our dog did not even want to get in the car to leave when I picked him up. And she even sent him home with 2 new toys! Definitely recommend and will for sure be using her again next time we need a pet sitter!!!

I cannot say enough great things about Amy! She took such wonderful care of my senior dog, Kylie, and truly made the experience stress-free for both of us. From the start, Amy was incredibly accommodating—her home was clean, welcoming, and perfectly set up for an older dog who needs a bit more comfort and calm. What really stood out was how sensitive and attentive she was to Kylie’s needs. She understood the slower pace and extra care an older dog requires, and I could tell Kylie felt safe and loved in her care. As someone who can get a bit anxious leaving my dog behind, Amy completely put my mind at ease. She sent me daily updates along with the sweetest photos of Kylie looking happy and relaxed. Knowing my dog was in such good hands made all the difference. I highly recommend Amy to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter—especially if you have a senior pup who needs that extra bit of attention.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
