“My boy Saint lovesss Yukia. After a 9 day stay he didn’t want to come home. I know under her care he is safe, active and loved. She speaks his love language — Amazon box lol. Yukia is officially Saint’s auntie. There’s no one like her.”

“Kiki is my go to! Apollo absolutely loves her, I enjoy that she takes her time to get to know him and seems to enjoy him, I always feel safe and confident when Apollo stays with her. Thanks Kiki!!”

“This was Tytus' first time away from us since his birth almost 5 years ago. Angela gave us a since of peace and comfort by providing us daily updates via text, photos, and videos. She and her daughter took great care of Tytus with giving him lots of love and hugs, which his very spoiled sweet spirit demands. I've already booked my next appointment and I would highly recommend her multiple services, which are flexible and reasonable. Thank you Angela for your exceptional service!”

“We can’t say enough good things about Megan! She took such amazing care of our mini golden doodle, Boston — treating him like he was her very own. From the start, Megan showed incredible communication skills, sending us daily photos and videos that reassured us Boston was happy, comfortable, and having a great time. You could instantly tell he felt safe and loved with her! Megan is friendly, professional, and clearly has a natural connection with animals. She was also incredibly patient and kind when our flight was delayed and we were late getting back — no complaints, just kindness and understanding. If you’re looking for someone who’s dependable, loving, and treats your pet like family, Megan is the one. We’re so grateful to have found her, and we’re sure Boston already misses her! Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter — she’s truly a gem!”

“Absolutely Amazing!! CHance loved his stay with Bria. There was alot of doodle energy with Chance and Bria's dog. She was so attentive and shared updates often. I'd definitely rebook.”

“Angie & family were wonderful hosts! Angie sent us photos and videos and messages throughout the stay and it was very clear that our puppy loved their big yard and hanging out with all the other dogs. He crashed hard as soon as we got home!! We would absolutely stay with Angie & family again.”

“Diana was great with our two dogs. She sent plenty of pictures/updates and it looked like they enjoyed their stay bery much. Diana was very accommodating and flexible with it came to pick them up due to our flight getting cancelled because of the weather. Thank you very much for everything regarding your care for our furbabies. ❤️”

“Never boarded a pet before but Jessica reassured me that Parker was in good hands. The photos of Parker showed me he was having such a good time. Parker had no anxiety or shyness. Since Parker was born during the pandemic he did not have an opportunity to socialize with other animals and people. This stay with Jessica move this needed skillset forward and I am so grateful. I also appreciated the pickup service because it alleviated my anxiety with long good byes. Jessica earned every star in this rating and then some. I will continue to check her availability for boarding.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
