About: I love all types of animals and have always had at least one pet in my life. I particularly enjoy spending time with dogs -- I had an Australian Shepherd mix for 11 years and we went on many hikes, long walks, dog park adventures, etc. I recently lost her to old age, and would like to spend my newly freed up time getting to hang out with all of the Rover community's dogs! No dog is too big or too small. I'm comfortable with all sizes and breeds. I am available to walk dogs on weekdays in the mornings before 8:00, on my lunch breaks between 12:00 & 1:00, and anytime after 4:30 p.m or at any time on the weekends. I can also do in-home visits during those hours. In-home stays can be worked out as well depending on your location. I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember! I grew up with cats, hamsters, and an Australian Shepherd who became my best friend. She was so attached to me that when I left for college, she came along! We spent countless hours hiking, exploring, and going on long walks together, and I was lucky enough to have her in my life until she passed away at 14. I also rescued a kitten during college who was my companion for the next 16+ years. Between the two of them, I have plenty of firsthand experience caring for pets through all stages of life, including their senior years. Both required regular oral medications as they got older, so I'm comfortable administering medications and following established care routines. I also have previous experience as a Rover sitter, providing drop-in visits and house sitting for clients, and I'm excited to be getting back into it! Although I don't currently have pets of my own, animals are still a big part of my life. About: I've had pets all my life, and have worked at pet stores, kennels and vets. Animals are my true passion and calling and I do not discriminate against any species. Christi was amazing—on her fourth visit, one of my cats was suddenly really lethargic and clearly unwell (based especially on a video of him hiding, very out of character). I flew back early, but she was able to take him to the vet so he could get treated immediately since it was going to be several hours until I could make it back. She stayed with him at the vet until they were able to release him. It's obvious that she knows cats and loves them. All my other cats were happy when she visited to distribute food and lots of pets.
