“Came home to two very happy pups! Kayla was great to work with… even helped out last minute; kept me updated every day! As a bonus, my house is cleaner than when I left it!”

“Trevor was such a great sitter for our labradoodle, Odin. From the start his communication was consistent, clear and he included plenty of updates and pictures. We have our dog on a pretty consistent schedule and Trevor was able to accommodate to everything. We appreciate Trevor and know Odin loved having him with him! Can’t recommend Trevor enough.”

“Marina was fantastic with our crew of five cats! She was incredibly communicative throughout the sit, sending regular updates with photos that put our minds at ease every day. She gave all the kitties their regular outside cube time and even kept our fish thriving. What really stood out was how she won over our most particular cat, which is not an easy feat and speaks to her patience and genuine care. We’d trust Marina with our cats (and fish!) again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog does not like people other than my wife really. But she took to Christine on day one and was climbing into her lap that night. It is such a relief to know someone who gets along with our dog is taking care of them. Would definitely hire again!”
About: Hi there! I’m Courtney and I have three years of dog training under my belt, I've trained and cared for hundreds of dogs and animals of all varieties. From puppies, to senior dogs, to anxious dogs. From cats, to birds, even to snakes. I also house sit and take care of plants, mail, and all the extra house things at no extra cost. I take care of everything. I currently work in marketing at a 9-5 and I am remote on Wednesdays. I am a homebody and am usually always available, and trying to raise money to pay off student loans. I take them on long walks, make sure they have indoor play time, lots of cuddles, fed, watered, treats, and have background music on so they are not anxious. I am always talking to them so they can hear my voice and know that I am in a relaxed and friendly mood.
“Makaelah was so easy to work with and took exceptional care of my Gidget as well as my house. Gidget is older so she requires a little more care than other dogs, and Makaelah stayed on top of everything, making sure to give me daily updates and photos. I came home to thriving plants that had been watered according to my instructions, a house that was just the way I left it and a happy pet. Would definitely use Makaelah again and recommend to anyone looking for a top notch pet and house sitter.”

“Sarah was absolutely fantastic taking care of our Charlie for the night! Sarah was attentive, communicative, and went the extra mile to make sure everything was taken care of. She picked up on Charlie's habits and what would make him most comfortable, and also was aware and took away a toy that was no longer safe for him- we couldn't appreciate this more! We look forward to having Sarah back soon and would highly recommend!”

“Tessa is so sweet and kind and truly has a heart for dogs! She went above and beyond in caring for my little Maggie and our home. We have definitely found our forever dog sitter 🐶”

“Amazing job. She was so good with pups and kept us updated while we were gone on vacation. Puppies had a good time and when we returned to our home it was spotless. Highly recommend.”

“Nathan was absolutely wonderful as our house and dog sitter while we were away for Spring Break! From the start, he was communicative, reliable, and made us feel completely at ease leaving both our home and our dog in his care. He stayed in our home and treated it with great respect, everything was clean and just as we left it when we returned. Most importantly, our dog was happy, well cared for, and clearly got plenty of attention and exercise while we were gone. Nathan kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind during our trip. We truly appreciated how attentive and responsible he was, and it made a big difference knowing everything at home was in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend Nathan to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter, and we would love to have him back again in the future!”

About: I grew up with a cat, so I understand feline independence, quirks, and how to earn trust — even with the shy ones. Over the years, I’ve also lived with roommates who had dogs, so I’m comfortable with daily walks, feeding routines, and just being a steady, calm presence for a dog who’s used to company. Beyond my own home, I’ve pet sat for friends and family for years — everything from quick daily check-ins to longer stays while people were traveling. I know how important it is to keep pets on their normal routine, give them plenty of attention, and communicate with owners so they feel at ease the whole time. Whether your pet needs a playmate, a quiet companion, or just someone reliable to make sure they’re fed and loved, I’m happy to step in. Since I work fully remote, I’m home basically all day, so your pet gets plenty of company rather than long stretches alone. We will go for walks or dog park time throughout the day. My apartment doesn’t have direct yard access, but the complex has several dog parks nearby for outdoor time and socializing. I’m happy to adjust my schedule to match your pet’s usual feeding routine, and I send photo updates so you can see how they’re doing throughout the stay.

About: Ive taken care of all sorts of animals since 15 and have given medical injections to pets; going to a vet tech class in spring! This is my full time job right now which gives me plenty of time to care for your Furbabies! I try to give myself days during the week for a break so I can take care of other things as well! I keep my eyes on them at all times making sure they are okay, giving them all the care and love and safety! I will always keep the owner updated on everything with photos and videos and text updates on how your Furbabies are doing!
“Kylie is so sweet. My cats responded differently to me when I came home, so I know they had a good time with her. She communicated on my door cam when she was leaving. Would definitely recommend.”

About: I’ve been a dog lover for 20+ years, and dogs have always been a huge part of my life. I recently lost my German Shepherd, Trout, and while I’m still getting used to the quiet house, I’d absolutely love the company of a dog again. I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. I have a nice ground-level patio, a front door with easy outdoor access, and I’m just a short distance from open fields and a dog park—perfect for walks, playtime, and getting some energy out. Most importantly, I’m happy to welcome dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Whether your dog wants to run around and play or simply hang out next to me while I work, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and right at home. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else, and I’ll treat your pup like they’re my own. 🐾 I work from home all day, so your pup will have plenty of company and attention throughout the day. I usually head to the gym from about 6–7:30 PM, but otherwise I’m home and available. I’m happy to work walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles into my day! Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll treat every pup like my own, with plenty of attention, patience, exercise, and affection. I keep a clean, comfortable home and provide a calm environment where dogs can relax and feel secure. I’ll also follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, routines, and any special needs. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing your dog is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

“Emily was great with my pup Winnie! Winnie is very anxious but Emily handled her perfectly. She sent regular updates and photos throughout the stay which was really appreciated and also left the place spotless. I’d highly recommend her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Point Venture
We highly recommend Payton. This was our first time and there are quite a few things to share. First and foremost, she accommodated our request for a 4-night stay literally last minute. Payton was very transparent with a certain window that doesn't work for her, and we really appreciate that. She was able to spend a lot of times with our pet Bones, gave him a lot of good attention, took him out for walks, gave him timely meds and spoilt him with timely treats 😆. Payton also watered our plants (indoors and outdoors), and gave Bones a bath. I want to highlight that Payton was very responsive throughout, shared updates proactively and also washed the bed sheets before she left. We were very anxious about our last minute situation, and thanks to Payton - we were fully relaxed during our trip. We're definitely going back to Payton next time as our first option!

Wren was an amazing sitter for Juno! She took the time to understand Juno’s needs and followed all of my instructions perfectly. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Juno was able to stay comfortable at home and was receiving great care. Wren also kept me updated with photos throughout my trip, which I really appreciated! She left my apartment clean and organized, everything was in great condition. I would absolutely recommend Wren to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter, and I look forward to booking with her again!

We had a fantastic experience with Chris as our pet sitter! From the very beginning, she was professional, responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. Her communication was excellent — she kept us updated and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Our flight was delayed coming home, and Chris was so flexible and accommodating, which we truly appreciated. It made a stressful travel day so much easier knowing our pets were in such good hands. We came home to happy, healthy pets and everything in great shape. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. We will absolutely be hiring Chris again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring pet sitter!

I have never seen my crazy dog so calm around a person. She clued in quickly that Thomas had treats. We were very nervous leaving our house full of pets for a week, but all was well when we returned. He sent us lots of texts with photos and the house was very clean when we returned. Definitely recommended!!

We valued the responsiveness of Meg to the needs of our pets. She demonstrated her ability to adapt to one dog having several days of stomach issues and a bit more snow around the house than we had expected. She sent pictures daily, which we appreciated and gave us a summary of the week in a hand written note, which was helpful for us as well. Thank you for the snuggle time with the pups as well, Meg!
Aaliyah exceeded all expectations. She followed every instruction carefully, went above and beyond in caring for my dog, and provided consistent communication throughout her stay. I felt completely confident knowing my pets were in her attentive and capable hands. Highly recommend her services.

Rebecca was great. Despite having very short notice, she replied and arranged a meet and greet that occurred within a few hours of me contacting her. She was very communicative and asked a lot of questions and took detailed notes on what my pups needed for their routines. She stayed over at my house for 2 nights while I was out of town, sending pictures and videos frequently and showering my pups with attention. I would highly recommend you consider Rebecca for your pet sitting needs!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Point Venture walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Point Venture maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Point Venture choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Point Venture. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
