Pamela took wonderful care of our Bella Boo while we were away for 4 days. Bella Boo is our 7-year-old French Bulldog with paralysis in her back legs, so finding someone we trust is incredibly important. Pamela went above and beyond to make sure Bella Boo was comfortable, happy, and well cared for. She kept us updated, followed Bella Boo’s special needs with compassion and attention, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We came home to a happy, well-loved pup. We are so grateful for Pamela and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter—especially for pets who need a little extra support. Thank you, Pamela! ❤️🐾 Bella Boo absolutely adored her, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Pamela again!

Tabbatha watched our two dogs for two weeks in our home and she was truly amazing! It was clear that she really cared about our dogs and she went above and beyond for them, including sending lots of pictures of how they were doing! She was also flexible enough to stay an extra night when we had unexpected travel issues. Overall, we highly recommend Tabbatha!

Anastasia did an amazing job house sitting and taking care of my dogs! Both dogs take medications and supplements and she made they sure they were given correctly. She also took them on long walks and checked in regularly with updates. And I came home to a house that was just as clean as I'd left it. I'll definitely be asking for Anastasia's help again the next time I need to leave town.

About: I grew up with several dogs and cats in the family home. I have raised and trained a Doberman, so I know what it takes to teach them obedience and the importance of consistency. I love animals so much, they bring me so much joy. Fun fact: when I was a little girl I wanted to be a veterinarian. I feel that I have a special connection with animals; they are usually naturally drawn to me. I didn’t pursue a career as a veterinarian because I had other interests. I currently don’t have any animals because I enjoy the flexibility. I would love to take care of your animals and treat them with extra special care. I am currently working part time and would have the time to care for your pet(s) after work or on my days off. I currently work a 2-3 days a week and am available by the afternoons on the days I am working. I typically pet sit in the owners home. I find that is more comfortable for them. I am not currently able to have pets where I live.

Brooke was absolutely wonderful! She stayed in our home for a little over two weeks while caring for our 23-year-old cat, Chloe, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Coming home to such a happy, relaxed kitty was the greatest gift. It was obvious Chloe was loved, well cared for, and never felt neglected while we were away. Brooke also took exceptional care of our home—it was absolutely immaculate when we returned. She sent thoughtful daily updates with photos, which gave us so much peace of mind and allowed us to truly enjoy our vacation knowing everything was in great hands. Brooke is trustworthy, kind, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. We would hire her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable house and pet sitter!

Nathan did an amazing job taking care of our dog! He went above and beyond in every way and was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay. It’s clear he really understands dog behavior; he knew exactly how to read our anxious dog’s needs and adjust accordingly, which gave us so much peace of mind. On top of that, he’s genuinely a super nice person! We’d highly recommend Nathan to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to watch their pets!

Absolutely outstanding experience! Kate cared for our dogs and cat and also watched our home, and she exceeded expectations in every way. Communication was excellent from start to finish, with thoughtful updates and daily photos that gave us total peace of mind. Our pets were clearly happy, relaxed, and well cared for. On top of that, she left our home spotless, which was such a great surprise to come back to. It genuinely felt like our home and pets were treated with the same care and attention she would give her own. If you are even considering hiring Kate, do it immediately! We will absolutely book Kate again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and professional sitter.

About: I have never boarded my own dog because he is the most spoiled dog in the world and he loves the comfort of his own home! I believe all fur babies should have the same comfort! I also have walked my dog every day for the past 10 years! Puppies need daily exercise and play! I enjoy walking and being outside. I currently do not work and my kiddos are now in school full time! I love dogs and cats, as well as helping others, so I figured this was a great fit! I can be available after the kids go to school, until the time they come home. I would prefer drop in visits and dog walking. I don’t plan to care for dogs in my own home, but I will care for your pets as if they were my own. Also, I would follow any instructions you give.

Working with Jessica was a dream! She came over to our house a few days prior to meet the dogs. They loved her. As I shared instructions, she digested all the info in one go and executed on them so well. We didn’t have to repeat ourselves at all — impressive! While we were away, she gave us regular sweet updates and was very independent. When the dogs did unruly things (like my pyrenees pulling her into a nearby body of water for an unexpected swim), she stayed upbeat and had the situation totally handled before contacting us. We felt in very good hands. When we came back, our house looked great! Towels cleaned, bed stripped, floor swept, and even some veggies shared from her garden 🤗 We hope to book Jessica again for our next trip.

I would like to thank Keniana for providing exceptional care for my two pugs during my recent holiday. I truly appreciated her attention to detail and regular updates, which let me relax and enjoy my time away. Knowing that Mr. Flynn and Ms. Scout were in such capable hands gave me peace of mind. The photos she shared showed that she cared for them as I would. If you are looking for someone who cares for animals as much as you do, I highly recommend choosing her for your next sit. Vanessa was wonderful with our two fur babies. Our 1 year old Basset Hound is very timid with new people, however she quickly warmed up to Vanessa. Vanessa stayed in communication with us throughout our time away, sending regular updates and photos of our pups. It gave us great peace of mind knowing they were well cared for and loved while we were gone. We truly appreciated her thoughtfulness and highly recommend her!

We valued the responsiveness of Meg to the needs of our pets. She demonstrated her ability to adapt to one dog having several days of stomach issues and a bit more snow around the house than we had expected. She sent pictures daily, which we appreciated and gave us a summary of the week in a hand written note, which was helpful for us as well. Thank you for the snuggle time with the pups as well, Meg!

Kayla did a great job with our little senior dog. She did not leave him because he was anxious, which we expected since he had never been left with anyone but family. Each day we got at least 2 pictures and updates. Her patience was appreciated by us and our furry friends. We will definitely rehire Kayla and can highly recommend her .

FAQs for House Sitting - Briarcliff

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Briarcliff on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 4,559 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Briarcliff. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Briarcliff walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Briarcliff maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Briarcliff choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Briarcliff. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
