“Samanta was the biggest blessing to our little family while we were away. We have a five-year-old cat who was recovering from a cold and a three-month-old kitten who is full of energy and curiosity—so they’re not exactly low-maintenance! But Samanta cared for them both as if they were her own. She went above and beyond to make sure they were safe, healthy, and loved in our absence. From sending us updates that gave us peace of mind to letting us know when food or supplies were running low, Samanta’s thoughtfulness and communication made all the difference. She even noticed when one of the kitties wasn’t feeling 100% and checked in right away, which we appreciated more than we can say. Leaving our pets behind is always hard for me, but this time felt different. Samanta’s calm, trustworthy presence made the usual guilt melt away. About: Hi, I’m Jonathan! I grew up in a home known throughout the neighborhood for dog sitting and for always opening our doors to any animal in need. At any moment, our home was filled with at least four dogs, a bird room, and a rotating mix of rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, and lizards—all equally cherished members of the family. I started taking on real responsibilities for their care at around 8 years old and caring for animals has been an immensely rewarding part of my life ever since. Today, my own home is just as full of love: we have two wonderful Labradors (one senior who needs a little help moving, one energetic and reactive youngster), a short-haired cat, and a newborn son. My experience ranges from caring for senior dogs to managing dogs with special behavioral needs, including reactivity. Because of that, I’m especially attentive to safety and never allow dogs to interact without full owner consent and ample distance. Priority #1 will always remain making sure your dog is safe at all times. I always stay aware of surroundings and respect every dog’s comfort level with people, sounds, and other animals. I’m happy to reinforce basic commands during walks, offer structured play during drop-ins, or simply keep things calm and comforting for your pet. Whether your dog enjoys a slow sniff around the neighborhood or needs more structured activity, I’ll follow your lead to give them exactly what they need. I treat every animal in my care with the same love and responsibility I give my own. You can expect clear communication, safe practices, and genuine respect for you and your animal's needs and routines. It's important that both parties feel comfortable so please reach out to schedule a meet and greet prior so we can do our best to make sure that we both feel it's a good fit. I am available for walks and check-ins anytime morning to evening from 6:00am until 6:00pm with the exception of Sundays. If there's something outside of those time frames you're needing covered please reach out and I'll do my best to see if I can accommodate. When I’m in your home or out on a walk with your dog, safety is always my top priority. I never allow dogs to interact with other animals or humans unless I have been given clear consent. I will always maintain safe distances from others by shortening the leash when needed or when avoiding certain hazards. During drop-ins, I respect your home as if it were my own. I follow your instructions carefully, double checking to be sure gates and doors are secure, and will always be sure that your pet is comfortable before I leave. I know that every home and dog has its own rhythm, and I make it a point to adapt to that, not disrupt it. On walks, I stay mindful of the ever-changing environment of a city at all times and stay attentive to not only our surroundings but the body language of your pup and how the route is impacting them. That means avoiding overly stimulating routes for reactive dogs or taking a path with a few more flowers to give more good sniff time for dogs that like to take their time walking. I understand that every dog has different needs, so I tailor each visit to their personality and your preferences.

About: I was surrounded by animals in my household throughout my entire childhood, from my first dog, Buddy, to our current dogs, Megan and Cleo, to my three cats growing up, Lucy, Tammie, and Shiloh. I strongly advocated for our current two dogs as a child, obsessively researching local shelters and persuading my parents. I took care of these two dogs with such a deep passion - from walking, playing, and feeding them to being the first one to advocate for vet visits, pouring hours and days into finding the right solutions for medical problems that came our way. Presently, they're senior dogs, with Cleo (our chihuahua rat terrier mix) being the oldest and having to recently have several teeth removed, and her anxiety worsening with age. But I still love her all the same. I will sit with her for hours patiently calming her down, giving her treats, and ensuring she eats healthy, soft food for her comfort. I will wait for her to go potty as long as needed, and be patient and loving even if she can't make it outside in time. While Megan is aging, her needs are simpler, and I focus on ensuring she's getting the adequate play to match her still-high energy levels. Overall, I'd be over the moon to meet your pet, big or small, energetic or shy, high or low support needs - all pets are welcome in my book! Please see my cat care experience for more details on my love and experience with cats! I'm currently working full-time on a hybrid two-day in office schedule in the Santa Monica area. Ideally I would love to see your pet on weekends but also have flexibility on my 3 WFM days throughout the week, particularly around lunchtime and after 5, but I can also work around as needed! I'd love to meet your pet in their comfort space (typically your home), offer some treats, and get to know their personality through light play and pets (depending on what they are comfortable with). After we've gotten acquainted and they feel safe, I'd love to take your pet on a walk or lean into more active play if they are a homebody. Overall, I will use my best judgment to ensure that we're not pushing your pet out of their comfort zone and ensure that they feel comfortable and supported while I care for them.
