“Jacob is wonderful! Our shepard mix can be a real handful, but she loves walking with Jacob. Before his first day on the job, he researched using the gentle leader we asked him to use and memorized the list of commands we gave him. He's always responsive and conscientious. Truly a great dog walker!”

“I am always happy to hire Geoffrey for a walk around the neighborhood! He makes sure to give my dog some extra pats and check his water while I'm at work and I love getting the photo updates too.”

“Jess is incredibly kind and patient with my dog. My dog is sometimes slow to warm and very shy. Jess took the time to let him adjust. She goes above and beyond. My dog is high energy and Jess made every effort to make sure he ran and sprinted to get his energy out. Would definitely hire again!”

“Royce is a wonderful conscientious dog walker who genuinely cares about my Baz. He’s had medical issues lately and she’s been so flexible & observant with him, really helpful tending and adjusting to his needs.”

About: When I was born I always had dogs around. Then, I owned my own. Also, throughout life I have been sitting my family’s and friends’ dogs. Dogs are family members without which I can’t imagine my life! I go on walks with dogs, I cook with them around, I do work with them next to me on a chair, so I consider dogs a part of my day! I feed and walk them, play and talk to them and pet them! :) I also make sure that they are feeling physically and emotionally alright!
About: I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and devoted cat mom. Caring for my own pet has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and attention to detail. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away. • Flexible availability on weekdays and weekends. • Morning, afternoon, and evening visits available. • Happy to accommodate your pet’s regular routine whenever possible. • Prompt communication throughout your booking. • Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. • I carefully follow feeding, medication, and care instructions. • Attentive to changes in behavior, routine, and wellbeing. • Regular updates and photos provided with every visit.

About: I didn't grow with any family dogs. As an adult I wanted a dog but never got my own due to mainly being in per free apartments. A few years back I adopted my own dog and have been caring for him since. I would like to take care of needs of other fur babies which has led me to sign up with rover. I am currently looking for a full time job. I care for my dog, Kaazoo as well. As a result, I have flexibility around my availability to suit your needs for drop in visits or dog walking. I have experience walking and caring for my dog. On multiple occasions I have also taken care of my friend's dogs either by letting them out when my friends have some longer hour commitments or walking them.
“Michelle was great when she came to walk our dog! Our dog can sometimes be anxious around strangers, but she warmed right up to Michelle and was so excited to see her when she arrived. Michelle followed all instructions and our pup was so tired after her walk. Would definitely recommend Michelle as a very reliable dog walker!”

About: Growing up my sisters and I started a dog walking business and offered our services to all the neighbors. We walked and played with dogs of all breeds and sizes! I’m currently working as a college softball coach and looking to fill up my my schedule! My schedule varies depending on the season, and my days being wide open in the off-season. I treat all pets like my own, making sure they are fed and played with like I know my Wayne would like. They deserve all the pets!

“Carol is very knowledgeable about dogs and has much experience taking care of them. She seems very comfortable with my large excitable Aurora. They had a good walk around the neighborhood and I plan to ask Carol for help again!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Waltham
Jess has been a reliable, flexible, and trustworthy dog walker for my 70lb hound/pitt mix! My dog can be reactive on the leash, and I have felt very confident to send her out with Jess. She provides great communication pictures every day, and adapts to meet the needs of my dog. Highly recommend for any animal care needs!

Sue is fantastic! She is super reliable and takes excellent care of my little dog. On top of that, Sue seems to really care about what she does and makes me feel like my dog is the only dog in the world. She makes me feel special and I know she makes my dog feel special as well! She responds quickly to messages and I’ve never had any issue communicating with her. When you book with Sue, you can be assured that your pet is in great hands

Paula was incredible. She took the time to visit ahead of her first walk to meet Pico, which we really appreciated. We had a number of unexpected changes to our schedule, and she handled everything with flexibility and grace. Her updates after each walk were thoughtful and reassuring. I would absolutely hire her again and highly recommend her.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
