“This is the second time Mailo has stayed with them! Mailo is truly happy at their home! Thank you for taking such good care of him and for always communicating so well.”

“Joanna took excellent care of our pet and treated her with so much love and attention. She kept us updated every day with pictures and videos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. I would highly recommend Joanna to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter!”

“I left my little furry baby for 7 days to Carlos. And Carlos was so well taking care of my furry baby. He took care my little baby like their own. I'm so happy to find them. I definitely will leave my furry baby in the future again. Thank you Carlos! You are the best!!”

“Jean and Al did a great job with Biscuit. They accepted him on short notice so we could have a beach day out. He had a full day and enjoyed playing with their pups. Jean sent me text updates and a couple of photos. He came home worn out and ready to nap.”

“Mai was awesome! Her dog is super friendly and handled my skittish dog very well. Being the first time I boarded I was a bit hesitant. I arrived and realized I had left his bag with food and the leash! She assured me she had extra and not to worry about having to go back to get my bag. Overall great experience.”

“I’ve been using Rover for several years and Jean is one of my favorites! She’s not only polite but she’s super responsive, sends lots of pictures and updates, and most of all took great care of my pup! Thanks Jean!”

About: I've always owned & cared for animals my whole life. I grew up around a farm when I was a kid and I've always had dogs & cats of my own. I currently own 2 Great Danes and 3 cats. I currently work full time but will take appointments whenever I am off work and available. I will only take appointments for pet sitting/daycare in my own home. Since I have 5 animals of my own I cannot leave them for long periods of time to stay in your home. I do have a very medium/large crate in my home if your animal needs to be separated. I own my own home close to Starkey Park and several dog parks. My yard is completly fenced in with 6ft privacy fencing. I also have a screened in pool for those pets that like the water. I have a large sized pet door that goes from the house out to the fenced yard. My cats are very friendly and love my dogs but take a little to warm up to other dogs. They also have a small pet door to escape to the garage if they are overwhelmed . My dogs get along with all other dogs and don't mind cats.
“Thanks, Laura, for having Tuxy for the week. I know he's happy to spend time there because he runs into the house when he gets there, excited to have play time! The photos Laura sends are helpful when you're gone for more than a day. I can see him playing and napping and know he's well cared for.”

About: Being a dog mom for over 10 years and a cat mom for 3 years, now being a mom to my own babies and staying home full time with the ability to open my home or help others with their fur babies is my favorite hobby. I have a beautiful golden retriever that I’ve had since she was 6 weeks so I’ve been able to be with her and learn all stages of dogs. I have a large, fenced in backyard so plenty of space to play or sun bathe for the pups. I’m currently a stay at home mom to a newborn so I now have extra time for this hobby. I love dogs and sitting them is my fun way of interacting and enjoying a new pup without getting another one of my own. Dogs have always been members of the family to me. Spending quality time with them by going on long walks with plenty time to sniff and stimulate their brains, cuddling on the couch watching movies or playing with their favorite toy.
“Kimberly was great. She took great care of my dog and provided daily picture updates. Her own doggie Bailey was really sweet as well. I would book with her again and recommend.”

“Heather was very good with Spencer and he came home happy and healthy. She was flexible with time when we unexpectedly had to extend our time away. Would definitely want to book her again.”

“Katie and Patrick took expert and loving care of Duckie, our 10 month Great Dane puppy. This was her first home-away stay, and we couldn't be more pleased! Katie has extensive knowledge of different breeds, and she certainly knows Great Danes. We could tell from the numerous videos and pics that Duckie was having a great time, running around and socializing with the other dogs. A+, worry-free stay. She was well- taken care of. We will most definitely be using Katie again. Thank you, Katie and Gang!”

I work from home Wednesday thru Saturday, and off Sunday thru Tuesday. I have a large fenced yard for potty breaks and play time. Morning and nightly walks. I have a fenced yard to keep your dogs safe and protected I have two dogs of my own to keep your dogs company and play with.
“My pug Manny has separation anxiety but he was as cool as can be both when I dropped him off with Lorraine, and when I picked him up. Lorraine is experienced, insightful, and kind. She sent me photos of Manny so relaxed, he was sprawled out on his back on the sofa. I’m so happy to have found her and I know Manny is, too. Thank you, Lorraine!”

“Caring and fun boarding adventure for the doggies, with daily photos of them in the updates. Very responsible team Kathy and Dzeni whom we recommended highly.”

“Richard and Carmen are amazing people! They loved on Luna and made her feel comfortable and right at home from the first night! They sent pictures regularly, and loved her like their own. We will definitely be using them again when we have the need, and refer our friends their way!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Port Richey
I could not have wished for a better sitter for my Labrador Retriever, Winnie! Robin is a wonderful and warm person who truly loved and spoiled Winnie during the three weeks she looked after her. Robin sent pictures and updates every day, which gave me great peace of mind. Her two dogs are happy and friendly, and Winnie got along beautifully with them. I would not hesitate to recommend Robin to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter.

Alicia watched my dog and also took care of him over Christmas, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for anyone better. She is incredibly kind, loving, and attentive, and it was clear how much she truly cares about animals. I received daily updates, comments, and pictures, which gave me such peace of mind. My dog was happy, relaxed, and so well cared for the entire time. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such wonderful hands. I can’t recommend Alicia enough — she’s truly amazing!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
