“Devin checked in on our pups while we were out of town. She sent us great updates with pictures for every drop in. Will absolutely use her in the future if our dogs ever need care!”
“Hannah did a great job looking after our 2 cats for a few days. We’re complicated because the cats don’t get along so have to be kept separate and Hannah understood and had no problem adjusting to our neurotic cats. Will definitely use her again.”

“Katharine was so great with my pups and getting into my apartment (which can be difficult), literally don’t know what I’d do without her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to show their pets some love and check in on them while they’re gone.”

“Frankie did a fantastic job with my 12-year-old American bobtail cat during my absence, especially on short notice. The drop-in visits were excellent in every way. I enjoyed reading Frankie’s updates, which showed creativity, thoughtfulness and caring. I didn’t have an opportunity to meet Frankie, but the vibe was a genuinely caring and wonderful soul. Buddy and I are highly satisfied with the care received, and, well, we just love Frankie. I will definitely try to book with Frankie in the future. Absolute trust. Thank you so much, from Buddy and me”

“First time using Rover and was so pleased with how helpful Kyle has been. He was fantastic with our cats for an entire week and followed my instructions beautifully. Highly recommend Kyle and will be using him for our future cat-sitting needs 😻😻”

“Cam is wonderful and I highly recommend her! She took great care of our two kitties while we were away. Her updates with photos were thorough and allowed us to feel completely at ease knowing our cats were in good hands. Such a great experience!”

“Krisie is always responsive when I request a drop-in even when it is last minute. She always takes good care of my cat even though he is a bit shy until he gets to know you, Krisie always makes an attempt to coax him out to say hello.”

“Rebecca was attentive and patient with my two special needs dogs. She went above and beyond during her visits and sent regular updates and photos while I was away. Definitely reccommend. Thank you, Rebecca!”

About: I’ve been walking dogs and pet sitting for years, caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Whether it’s a playful puppy or a senior companion, I treat every pet like family. I’m always up for a long walk, playtime, or just hanging out with your pet while you’re away. I’ll treat them like my own and make sure they feel happy and loved. I currently work from home and set my own schedule, so I’m generally free during the weekday and in the evenings. I also have a lot of free time on the weekends and would love to look after your furry friends! When I’m pet sitting in someone’s home, I treat it like my own, keeping it clean and cozy for your pets. I’ll care for your pets like they’re my own, making sure they’re safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away. You can count on me to keep things running smoothly and give them all the love and attention they need.
“Cody was incredibly kind to my senior dog. He was attentive, communicative and really easy to work with. I appreciated his willingness to help my family out when we really needed him. From what I could tell, Gus treated him like one of the family, and vice versa. Would highly recommend!”

“Hannah was so amazing with our kiddos- sent us lots of pictures and updates every visit! We’ll definitely be reaching out again next time we’re out of town. Thank you Hannah! 🤍”

About: My name is Janie, and I’m a student at Samford’s Cumberland School of Law. I recently graduated from Auburn University as well. I have been training and caring for a variety of dog and cat breeds since I was 14 years old, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. I am comfortable administering medications and providing any necessary medical care, and I treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. Your pet’s health, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities, and I am committed to providing them with a loving, safe, and attentive environment while you’re away. Pet care can fit in whenever I do not have classes which is Monday-Thursday 10am to 4pm and Fridays I get off at noon. I prioritize your pets over a social calendar or other non emergency obligations. I take care of them like they are my own. If the dog or cats sleep in beds at home, then they will be treated with the same care if that is what they prefer. If the animal needs medical care or medicine given, I am able to administer. Basically your animals won’t even know you are gone because of how similar their routine will be!
“Morgan was great and I will most definitely be booking her again the next time I am in need! She sent detailed updates and lots of photos showing my dog always looking so happy and cared for.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Mountain Brook
Britiany was such a responsible, communicative cat sitter, which was great because I'm always nervous about a new sitter. She really loved our cat, which meant a lot to us, and did a great job of sending notes and photos about how each visit went. She also left adorable "report cards" for each day of the stay, along with a little Polaroid picture. We would definitely hire her again (although we may be moving away!) and highly recommend her for your catsitting needs!

Royalty was very communicative and gave good details on my cat’s wellbeing on the report card. My cat is very selective on who she likes and she warmed right up to Royalty! He also went above and beyond keeping things tidy at my house. I highly recommend him to sit for your fur baby!

Kyle came once a day to look in on our cats, give them fresh food and water, and take care of the litter boxes. He communicated every day to let me know how it was going - even though the cats didn't come out for him (I have since talked to the cats about showing some gratitude). He was easy to work with. When we met in person I could tell he cared a lot about animals and had great attention to detail. Definitely will have Kyle back, and maybe the cats will be more appreciative this time.

Sarah is AMAZING!!! She helped us out for a last minute trip and went above and beyond. She came over for a 10 minute visit before the trip to go over everything and get all of the details she needed. She then gave us detailed reports on them after each visit with lots of photos. We are so grateful for attentiveness and will definitely be referring her to anyone who needs pets cared for. Thank you Sarah!!
I’m so grateful to have found Piper here! She did an exceedingly great job with my cranky old cat, she was always on time and sent lots of sweet photos, and she did a very good job communicating and asking questions when she needed to. 10/10 sitter! Thanks, Piper!

Wilfredo took such great care of my kitties! He sent me thoughtful, thorough updates each day, spent time playing with them, and introduced them to KittyTV. He’s very nice, and my cats seemed really comfortable with him. I was on a longer trip than usual and it was a relief to know they were being so well looked after.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
