“Cam is the best. She has consistently gone above and beyond for our kitties. The updates she provides are thoughtful and make our trip even better. Highly recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter.”

“Frankie was great - we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! They took wonderful care of our 3 golden retrievers, giving them plenty of extra cuddles and attention. We were especially impressed by how they handled a little accident, cleaning it up quickly and with no fuss. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pups were in such caring hands. Highly recommend!"”

“Sarah is an absolute dream come true, I am so glad I found her! She was so good with my dog, and so accommodating with a last-minute change of plans in my needs. I will be using her again (and again and again) and highly recommend her to anyone else.”

About: i have 5 years of dog grooming experience, 3 years veterinary technician experience, and 2 years kennel technician experience. I have worked with pets off all support needs: senior, special needs, nervous, aggressive, puppies, all kinds! I have had extremely hands on experience working in vets offices and seen any and everything! I can administer medications of all types (including injections). I have experience with dogs who have potty issues or need to use pee pads. Seriously I've seen it all. Pet sitting is my full-time job! My entire schedule revolves around these furry babies. I basically devote all my days to taking care of pups! I'm home 24/7 while your pet is there unless im out checking on other pets. Every single doorway in my home is dog gated. I have a gate blocking off my front door and I have a fully fenced in backyard. They will never have direct access to any exit of the home. I have cameras in everyroom a pet would be in. I'm never gone for more than about an hour MAYBE two hours if im checking on another pet :) I never feed any pets in view of each other or in the same room. I only allow group play if you are okay with them being around others. I have full view of all dogs at all times.
“Leah is a great and caring sitter. I feel relieved leaving my three kitties under her care. Shes a great communicator and goes above and beyond to ensure everything goes well. Thank you!”

About: **Privately Insured for Peace of Mind** I've been pet sitting since childhood for all kinds of pets. My care experience has even involved small mammals, piglets, arthropods, and repitlies. I particularly enjoy working with shy and anxious dogs and cats. As a sitter, I pay attention to the details, such as pet body language and making sure food and water bowls are cleaned, and I am diligent in keeping pets out of potentially dangerous situations. Overnight dog sits include at least one walk a day unless otherwise specified or the weather prevents it, in which case indoor playtime will be had instead. I am comfortable administering medications, including injections. I am avaliable for constant care overnights (no leaving the dog(s) alone) for an additional fee. I am self-employed, so my schedule is extremely flexible and I am avaliable for constant care for an additional rate. Most of my exercise comes from walking dogs, so I am more than happy to take the long route if your pooch is up for it! I am very careful with your pets, avoiding encounters with unfamiliar dogs or people to avoid conflicts. My food is never within reach, and I pride myself on keeping your home clean and ready for your return.
“Louann did an great job, it made my vacation all the better knowing my kitties were in good hands. She kept me up to date with pictures. She spent time playing with them which was appreciated. Will definitely reach out again in the future”

“I really don’t know what we would do without Mya when we travel. She is just the best! She communicates with us so much and our kitties love her. Feel so lucky to know her!! ❤️❤️”

“Leah was great! She dropped in to feed let my dogs out. She followed the instructions perfectly and even went above and beyond. They were very happy pups when we got home and she took some great photos as well.”
About: Growing up I had experience with a lot of types of animals, from cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, cows and horses. In my adult life, I have had a lab mix and have had 4 boxers (3 currently still in the home) and a siamese mixed cat. I learned a lot about dog behavior when I got my first boxer through training, and feel like that has helped me with other dogs too. Two of my current boxers are seniors and they take meds so I am familiar with those types of things and my other one is 8 months old so I am currently also in the puppy phases as well. I do have a full-time job. Evenings and weekends are the best time for me on some days. I often work from home later in the week so I can be flexible those days. I am definitely open to chatting about options. I will keep my calendar up to date based on my availability. If your pups are coming to my house, I have a fenced in yard. I do have a pool, but I go outside with all pups for safety reasons. If your dog loves to swim let me know! I also have a quiet neighborhood for a nice leashed walk. I do have a lot of stairs so if you have a senior dog that has mobility issues my house might not be the best option. If they go out on a leash this would be less of an issue b/c I can take them for a walk out front. I crate my puppy when I am gone, and can crate your dog when/if you would like me too. I would like any special instructions about medications/food/behavior etc that are specific to your pets. I would need any specific instructions for your in home stays with your pets.
About: I promise to give 100% of taking care of them as my own. I was always be with them in my home. If I need to walk them from your home I will follow your directions so they feel safe at all times. I am always available and ready to help. What ever you need I will give my all to making it happen. Pets are amazing in my world. I have a big fence in yard for fun and a 1 year old bulldog to play with. They are allowed on the furniture. I also have plenty of toys.

About: As someone who has had pets in the home for as long as I can remember, I know it is important for them to be in a loving, patient, and attentive environment and I thrive in providing environments that are such! I work from home and I’m a SAHM, so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and supervision throughout the day. I have a large fenced in backyard and only two cats inside the home. I make sure that the pets that I care for have enough space of their own but are also attended to closely.
About: Hello! My name is Amber and I live in the Irondale area. I love animals! I know how hard it is to leave your fur babies and you just don’t want to leave them with anyone! I am trustworthy, caring, patient and can give you a worry free experience being away from your fur babies! I have experience with cats and dogs and have worked for WAG in the past. Animals love me! I have owned cats and one dog. I am comfortable around all types and sizes. Let’s schedule a meet and greet! I will be the one and only pet sitter for you! I had a great experience on here and want to provide the same to you. Thank you for reading! Roll Tide! I work a hybrid schedule so I am able to work around your schedule as needed for care. I can also come around lunchtime as needed. I keep my cat indoors so I know how important it is to be careful when opening doors to the outside. I respect leash rules and have a fenced in yard.
“Steven was great with communication during each of his check-ins on our dog. He always took several pictures and was very intentional about bonding with our dog instead of just doing the tasks I had listed for him. We will definitely be using him again.”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets all my life I’ve always had a special connection with animals and been very reliable! I have worked at a vets office and I am now a Dog Groomer! Currently pet sitting will just be part time when I’m not at my full time job but once business grows I look forward to providing more of these services in the future! I care for all pets as if they were my own. I adjust to their needs and do anything in my control to make it a great experience for them and their owner!
“Susan is a wonderful kitty sitter and I'm so grateful she was able to check in on my three kitties while I was out of town. This was the first time I'd traveled that long in quite some time and two of the kitties are just six months old and had never experienced me being gone more than several hours. She made extra effort to ensure they were comfortable, not anxious, and sent cute pictures of them. I looked forward to getting that text with the check-in and their daily report card and it was a huge comfort to me to know they were in good hands. I highly recommend Susan!”

“Ray is Great! I use him on repeat for boarding and dropping in. Great Communicator. My pup knows him and loves him. Always 5 Stars! Thanks again Ray for accepting this last booking on short notice!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
