“Always 5 stars. Camilla is not only doing the regular cat sitter things and she also took extra care for feeding meds and run to vet for our senior cat who needs lots cares. Thank you!”

“Ray is Great! I use him on repeat for boarding and dropping in. Great Communicator. My pup knows him and loves him. Always 5 Stars! Thanks again Ray for accepting this last booking on short notice!”

“Sarah helped us out for some drop ins over Thanksgiving. We had specific instructions because one of our dogs is dealing with Cushings and she followed everything as instructed. We received pictures and updates for each drop in and appreciated Sarah making herself available on a holiday. I will definitely keep her in mind for any future sitting needs with our pups!”
“Leah was great with our two dogs! She made us feel at ease while we were away and updated us thoroughly after every visit with lots of pictures included. We highly recommend Leah!”

About: -Constant care avaliable upon request** -Experienced with shy/anxious animals -Independently insured -Petsitting is my primary job. Your pets are my priority! -Capable of caring for small mammals and exotic pets, including reptiles and arthropods As a sitter, I pay attention to the details, such as making sure food and water bowls are cleaned, and I am diligent in keeping pets out of potentially dangerous situations. You can also be assured that I will take good care of your home. Overnight dog sits include at least one walk a day unless otherwise specified or the weather prevents it. I am comfortable administering medications, including injections. **Depending on your needs, I may not be able to provide constant care on Wednesday nights, as I have an 2.5hr evening class, but this is my only other commitment I am self-employed, so my schedule is extremely flexible and I am avaliable for constant care for an additional rate. Most of my exercise comes from walking dogs, so I am more than happy to take the long route if your pooch is up for it! I am very careful with your pets, avoiding encounters with unfamiliar dogs or people to avoid conflicts. My food is never within reach, and I pride myself on keeping your home clean and ready for your return.

“Caitlyn took such good care of Hambone while we were on vacation. She is thorough, communicative, caring, and trustworthy. Would recommend her to any pet parent. Thank you, Caitlyn!”

“We love having Joy come to see our dogs! And they love her! We will continue to have her come watch our dogs because she is professional, quick to respond, great with our dogs, and always gives us updates!”

About: Growing up I had experience with a lot of types of animals, from cats, dogs, sheep, pigs, cows and horses. In my adult life, I have had a lab mix and have had 4 boxers (3 currently still in the home) and a siamese mixed cat. I learned a lot about dog behavior when I got my first boxer through training, and feel like that has helped me with other dogs too. Two of my current boxers are seniors and they take meds so I am familiar with those types of things and my other one is 8 months old so I am currently also in the puppy phases as well. I do have a full-time job. Evenings and weekends are the best time for me on some days. I often work from home later in the week so I can be flexible those days. I am definitely open to chatting about options. I will keep my calendar up to date based on my availability. If your pups are coming to my house, I have a fenced in yard. I do have a pool, but I go outside with all pups for safety reasons. If your dog loves to swim let me know! I also have a quiet neighborhood for a nice leashed walk. I do have a lot of stairs so if you have a senior dog that has mobility issues my house might not be the best option. If they go out on a leash this would be less of an issue b/c I can take them for a walk out front. I crate my puppy when I am gone, and can crate your dog when/if you would like me too. I would like any special instructions about medications/food/behavior etc that are specific to your pets. I would need any specific instructions for your in home stays with your pets.
About: I’ve always had a soft spot for animals. I grew up with many dogs and started pet sitting for family members and friends once I was able to drive. I tend to bring pet treats (usually raw diet) and/or toys to soften the fur babies up so please let me know any dietary restrictions. I’m excited to become your pets new furry godmother and spoil your best friend as they so rightfully deserve. I usually work from 5am -1pm everyday except Wednesdays and Saturdays. My schedule is typically empty after 2 as I can squeeze in the gym at anytime. If you would like an early morning drop in I ask to know before 1pm the day prior I can deter pets away from areas you don’t want them in. I can crate them per request or put them in a preferred room with toys and favorite items to keep them entertained
About: I have grown up always having a pet in the house so I very quickly found a love for animals, specifically dogs. I understand that dogs can differ in personality and I have a good idea on how to deal with certain behaviors, especially being a pet owner myself. P.S. I had to leave my fur baby while away at school so I would love to take care of yours! I'm currently working part-time as well as attending The University of Alabama at Birmingham but I will have plenty of time for your fur babies! I will be providing services primarily in the mornings as that is what works best for my schedule. I will be available between the hours of 6am-11am. I am focusing on dog-walking but I will occasionally provide drop in services as well, so I will follow any instructions I am given regarding caring for a pet in the client's home.
About: I've had or taken care of pets since I was little. I have a house of 5 pups myself of all different shapes, sizes and personalities. Wallace(Pittie), Paco(Weenie), Fig(Frenchie), Eli and Brooks(Twin Frenchies). I've had dogs range from small to large all my life. I am currently working part time so I have plenty of time to check in on your fur babies. I can provide check ins, house sitting, walks and in some cases keeping your pets at my house(depending on temperament) I try and stick to care at your house as I have 5 pups of my own(super friendly), but if we did a play date to make sure they all get along your pups would enjoy a fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run around.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chalkville. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
