“Cody was fantastic with our cat Spike. I sent him a sitting request in a pinch when our sitter canceled the same day we were leaving town. Cody jumped in and did a fantastic job with Spike. Excellent communicator and very helpful. Highly recommend and will book again!”

“Sass did an excellent job taking care of our 2 cats! She was able to get 3 meds into our cat with her creative food mixtures! We recommend her highly and will use her again!”

“I highly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a top-notch pet sitter. She recently watched my cat, Lea, and did a great job. She was patient with my cat’s “ways” (sorry she’s not the most sociable!), but Caroline was on top with the visit cards and pictures, and very reliable. It's such a relief to find a sitter you can trust. Thank you so much, Caroline, for taking such wonderful care of my baby Lea!”

“Monica & Mitchell have been such reliable caretakers for our dog when we are away for long days!! They give great updates and Copper is always happy and resting comfortably when we get home ❤️”

About: I have had experience with dogs of every kind since I was born. I have cared for dogs of all ages between eight weeks and eighteen years old. My family had no less than four dogs and two cats when I was growing up. I got to care for large golden labs and for elderly yorkies and I love them all! I have extensive experience with all kinds of dogs, and I would love the opportunity to love on your pet. I am a college student here in Birmingham and my schedule is flexible! I can easily customize my availability and accommodate my clients as needed. Due to dorm living I am unable to have pets in my home. Due to dorm living I am unable to have pets in my home.
“Devin is a life saver. I’ve had the pleasure of having her multiple times now to look after my 2 cats and they love her to death! She’s such a huge help. Always gives me so many pictures and updates!!”

About: Hi, my name is Kelsey! I have had pets my entire life and have experience with dogs and cats (and other animals, just ask!). I work full-time from home, so I will have plenty of time to stay with and pamper your pup! I am incredibly reliable, trustworthy and flexible, and I will make sure your pup is very happy while they are with me! If you do have any questions, please feel free to send me a message and ask! I have a flexible schedule that allows pups to have a great balance of relax and play time. While I’m a homebody and I work from home, I try my best to stick to your buddy’s normal schedule. I do try to go to the gym and errands, so I always try to coordinate the appropriate times to ensure I am able to give everyone a smooth time with me. I take tons of pictures paired with lots of updates on your buddy’s day while you’re away, so you can make sure they are comfortable and happy in their own environment. I always keep the house so clean it won't even feel like anyone was there after I leave!
“Carson was absolutely amazing! Needed someone to come feed and walk my dog and feed my cat last minute during the holidays and she filled. She communicated well and would definitely rebook!”

About: Hi there! I’m Izzy, and I am thrilled to help you provide the best possible care for your sweet babies. Whether your pet needs a dedicated companion for drop-in visits or a reliable walker, I am here to ensure they are safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m a lifelong animal lover and a cat mom to my two babies, Juno and Iris. I have had my cats for two years now, which has deepened my passion for feline care. Because of this, I specialize in cat care and am fully comfortable handling the unique needs of cats. I have hands-on experience administering medication and remaining observant to feline behaviors. I have learned to recognize the subtle tell-tale signs that a cat may be feeling off or stressed, ensuring I can advocate for your pet’s health if necessary. When it comes to dogs, I have experience managing multiple dogs at a time, so I am comfortable handling the energy and attention required for your pups. I focus my services on small to medium-sized dogs, ensuring they get the focused, quality attention they deserve. I offer dog walking and drop-in visits. During our time together, I am happy to provide plenty of enrichment, including active playtime, gentle walks, and, of course, lots of snuggle time! I pride myself on being professional, reliable, and deeply empathetic to the needs of the animals in my care. I currently work a full-time job. I am available to offer consistent, dependable care during the following hours: Weekdays: Early mornings (before 8:00 AM) and evenings (after 5:00 PM). Weekends: Open availability throughout the day. I look forward to meeting you and your pets soon and becoming a trusted partner in their care! I currently work full-time during the week, so I’m especially excited to spend quality time with your fur baby on Saturdays and Sundays. I’m also available in the early morning and evening on weekdays. My goal is to help your pet feel as relaxed, safe, and loved as possible while you’re away. I believe caring for animals goes beyond just meeting their basic needs; it’s about showing them consistent affection, attention, and comfort. Every animal deserves emotional care, and I’m here to provide that with patience and kindness.
About: I’m 39 years old and there has been a pet in my life since I was 7. I’m an only child and my pets quickly became like siblings (we didn’t fight like them, promise). I became the primary caregiver for my mom’s two senior mini dachshunds a few years ago and was able to get them crate and pee-pad trained. One of them crossed the rainbow bridge sadly, but my other little old lady is doing well. I fall in love with every animal I see and I would love the chance to fall in love with yours. I’m currently working a full time second shift job (1pm-11pm) so I have the mornings completely open to check on your babies. I’m also a night owl and have no problem doing a nighttime check after work or begin an overnight stay. If you have a fenced yard, I will let them outside and let them do their business before tossing a ball or toy or running around with them to get the zoomies out. If no yard, then I will take them out on a leash for a walk then some playtime inside. Food and water will be checked and refilled; cuddles will be provided at will. :)
“Hannah is very sweet and professional. My cats love her. My cat, Cassie, was limping the first day she feed him and immediately sent me a video so I could arrange emergency vet care. I would 100% recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember! I was #1 dog sitter for about 5-6 neighbors through high school and college. I’ve taken care of many other dogs and cats as well. As a current medical student, I wish I could have my own dog but the time and finances won’t allow until I graduate. So for now, I can help take care of your pets and you can help me get my snuggle fix in! As a medical student, my schedule is often changing. I do have most evenings and weekends free for studying and I could always use a study partner or walk break! School is priority - but I will do my best to work with your schedule as well as my class schedule! I do currently live in an apartment, so boarding pets in my home is not a great option. I’ve stayed at very many homes to care for pets. Your pets health and safety will be my main concern - and I will always respect your home as well!
“Helena is incredible! She looked after my cat Koga while I was out of town for two weeks visiting family and I was able to relax and enjoy my time because I knew he was in great hands. Helena is an expert with cats and went above and beyond to make sure that Koga was happy, fed, entertained & getting tons of love. She sent tons of pictures and great report cards which I looked forward to reading each day. I’d love to book her the next time I’m away! She’s great! ?”

I highly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a top-notch pet sitter. She recently watched my cat, Lea, and did a great job. She was patient with my cat’s “ways” (sorry she’s not the most sociable!), but Caroline was on top with the visit cards and pictures, and very reliable. It's such a relief to find a sitter you can trust. Thank you so much, Caroline, for taking such wonderful care of my baby Lea!

Kaitlyn was amazing with Stevie and Garfield! She kept me updated, sent pictures, and treated them like they were her own. It made being away so much easier knowing they were getting lots of love and attention. I came home to two happy cats and a completely stress-free experience. I’d absolutely trust Kaitlyn to watch them again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pet sitter!

I've only ever had family members check in on my best cat buddy, Vinny, and I was apprehensive hiring a sitter for my 4 day vacation. I have to say Saskia was amazing and was able to get my shy cat to warm up to her within just a day or two. Saskia sent me plenty of pictures and her report card on her visits were thorough and put my mind at ease. She was on time at every single visit (and for our pre-interview), and she was very responsive and communicative, which I love. Vinny, my 10 year old domestic short hair became comfortable with Sas and allowed her to brush him and give scratches. He doesn't warm up to just anyone, so that says a lot. I will 100% book with Saskia going forward, and I'll recommend her to anyone who asks. 😻😊

We are repeat clients of Esther’s and can’t rave enough about how much us and our two kitties love her! She is always so thorough and caring to our girls and makes sure to send us the best updates / pictures. We appreciate her always going above and beyond, and are worry free during our trips knowing they are in great hands!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Acton. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
