About: I have had experience with dogs of every kind since I was born. I have cared for dogs of all ages between eight weeks and eighteen years old. My family had no less than four dogs and two cats when I was growing up. I got to care for large golden labs and for elderly yorkies and I love them all! I have extensive experience with all kinds of dogs, and I would love the opportunity to love on your pet. I am a college student here in Birmingham and my schedule is flexible! About: I have a special gift for noticing the emotions and personalities in pets that people often overlook. Whether your dog is playful, shy, independent, or simply needs a little extra love, I take the time to understand what makes them feel comfortable and happy. I’ve been around dogs since the age of 7. My specialty is dogs, but I happily welcome my feline friends too! :) When your pet is with me, they’re not just being watched. I want to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and joyful during every visit—so much so that they remember me when I return! My goal is to make sure your pet has a great day, because they give us so much in return: security, joy, companionship, and unconditional love. I want them to feel that same care and connection while they’re with me. 🐾 I don’t have a full time or part time job, I don’t own any pets of my own, no kids. My only exceptions would be my personal daily task that come with general life. I do not board more than one dog at a time just to keep things safe. I also live in an apartment complex with two other roommates who are my best friends. With this set up, I can ensure both your fur baby and my roommates are comfortable.

About: I have always loved animals- any and all types. I have owned dogs and cats as pets my entire life. I’m an honest and loyal person. I will provide the greatest care for your furbabies and make sure they are loved as my own. I volunteered with local humane societies and I also worked as an animal cruelty investigator for years. Animals live shorter lives than us humans so we have to make sure everyday is great. I have fostered numerous dogs and puppies that I found in abusive situations so providing a little extra care is no biggie to me. About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I can remember! I was #1 dog sitter for about 5-6 neighbors through high school and college. I’ve taken care of many other dogs and cats as well. As a current medical student, I wish I could have my own dog but the time and finances won’t allow until I graduate. So for now, I can help take care of your pets and you can help me get my snuggle fix in! As a medical student, my schedule is often changing. I do have most evenings and weekends free for studying and I could always use a study partner or walk break! School is priority - but I will do my best to work with your schedule as well as my class schedule! I do currently live in an apartment, so boarding pets in my home is not a great option. I’ve stayed at very many homes to care for pets. Your pets health and safety will be my main concern - and I will always respect your home as well!

I've only ever had family members check in on my best cat buddy, Vinny, and I was apprehensive hiring a sitter for my 4 day vacation. I have to say Saskia was amazing and was able to get my shy cat to warm up to her within just a day or two. Saskia sent me plenty of pictures and her report card on her visits were thorough and put my mind at ease. She was on time at every single visit (and for our pre-interview), and she was very responsive and communicative, which I love. Vinny, my 10 year old domestic short hair became comfortable with Sas and allowed her to brush him and give scratches. He doesn't warm up to just anyone, so that says a lot. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
