“My dog Dash loves going over to Rachel’s house to play with her dogs and of course to go see Rachel! She always makes sure that Dash gets enough play time and goes on plenty of walks. Dash also loves car rides and gets to tag along whenever she has quick errands to run, and he often gets spoiled with pup cups through the Starbucks drive-thru. With my permission and built trust, I have allowed her to take him anywhere to run errands, visit friends, and family. Thank you so much Rachel for taking care of Dash!”

“Susan is a very nice person and you can tell she really loves dogs . She was very good at communicating and sending photos during my dog’s stay . Susan’s husband Mark is also very good and a dog lover . My dog had a lot of fun with her dogs . I highly recommend her . She took really good care of my dog for the week he stayed .”

“We think Erin is great and would book again. It’s nice knowing you can leave town and your pet is well taken care of. Erin sent us pictures of Winston while we were away and that was so nice because we sure missed our boy! When we got home Winston got to play with other pups and he loves that, I think he was sad he had to come home.”

“Sana has been a great hostess/sitter for Lucy. She sends frequent updates and pictures. Also asked great questions to get to know Lucy better. Lucy is an aloof cat who is slow to warm up to people, however she allowed Sana to an approach and pet her almost immediately. She has gone the extra mile to make sure Lucy recieved her medication”

“Quimyia is great. She was available on short notice. Her dog is super friendly. While I was gone she took multiple pics and videos while providing updates. My puppy came home happy and clean!”
“Lori and her husband were amazing! Our puppy was worn out after having a weekend of playing with their dogs. We got updates with pics which is always reassuring when you’re a worry wart lol Will definitely be contacting again for future boarding needs!!”

“Paul and his son did an amazing job caring for my dog! I felt like we were long lost friends by the time I left when I dropped Kitty off because they are so personable and kind! Paul sent videos and kept in contact with me throughout her stay. Paul went above and beyond by making Kitty some homemade food when I miscalculated and she ran out. I would hands down recommend Paul to anyone looking for a sitter that pays individual attention to your fur baby!”

“They took wonderful care of my new puppy and senior dog that is fearful of storms. My senior dog was given meds as instructed and I was told DL stayed up with him til midnight to comfort him during the storms. I so loved the pictures they sent.”

“We are so happy to find Grace. We are pretty new to Iowa and she took amazing care of Callie during our wedding and honeymoon. I didn’t worry one bit and felt so comfortable knowing she was in good hands!”

About: I am looking forward to meeting and caring for your fur babies. Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns you may have! Generally, my pup gets some play time and exercise in the morning before work, during lunch, and then after work. During work hours, they hang with me in my office playing with toys, enjoying a chewy treat or just cuddling and napping while I work. I have a friendly dog who loves to play (he can be a little vocal - it's the terrier in him) and will be happy to give your fur baby some company. I allow my dog on the furniture and beds, but if you prefer not to, I am happy to adjust per your need. Let me know if your dogs need a specific routine or have play preferences. My main goal is to make sure their time with me is stress-free and they miss you as little as possible.
“Ashleigh was so so caring and conscientious in her care of our slightly grumpy and annoyed older dog! Definitely the best possible care out there! We will definitely be back. :)”

“Shannon and her family were so amazing with our pups! We got daily updates with pictures of them enjoying their time away from home. Definitely would recommend for anyone and will return the next time we someone to watch our pups!”
About: I’ve been watching friends and family pets for about 15 years now. Enjoy playing with dogs and cats alike. Experience from 1 year old puppies to 10+ year old dogs. I am available most weekends along with Fridays and Mondays. I’m always running errands in the community and can provide drop in services at this time. :) I have a puppy that is 3 years old and loves making new friends. We would provide services in your home multiple times a day

“Stacy did an AWESOME job with my 1 year old (LARGE) dog, Jemma. She worked with her on commands that we'd been working on and gave her lots of love! She sent pictures every day and was very easy to work with. She is great with animals and was able to watch Jemma for a week while I was travelling - what a life saver she is!!!!”

“Madi was wonderful! So communicative and sweet! I think my girl had the best time with her, she didn’t even want to come home! I felt my dog was so loved like her own. Thank you Madi!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Marion
Pamela and her husband were the best! Pixel bonded immediately when we had a meet and greet to get to know each other. She kept us abreast with pictures during the time Pixel stayed. We could not have been happier or more comfortable with our choice. We will definitely use them again if we need someone to care for Pixel.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
