“Paul was awesome! My doggies had a great time and I know they were well cared for. Winnie was so tired at pick up, so I know she played a lot with his little dog which gave Ellie some time to relax. Appreciated the update during the stay to make sure all was well! Thank you Paul! Especially with a short notice weekend stay for two doggies. Thank you!”
“The dogs loved their stay with Ali N. - a very dog-friendly environment and positive vibe and you could tell how happy the dogs were from the photos. Very good communication and a real dog lover.”
“Shannon and her family were so amazing with our pups! We got daily updates with pictures of them enjoying their time away from home. Definitely would recommend for anyone and will return the next time we someone to watch our pups!”
“It’s difficult to find a place that will love on your pup and spoil her like you do at home — DL & Libby R gave our pup all the attention and love she needed and more. She was well taken care of and felt safe in their home. The pictures and updates made us feel at ease and will be treasured additions to our own photos. Thank you DL & Libby R!!! ?❤️?”

“Ashley and her family were great to Finnegan! Ashley sent so many photos and made sure I was up to date with how he was doing. He came home and tired and happy pup! Thank you!”

About: Drop ins: I’ll take your dog on a little walk before feeding them and spending time with your little furry love (20-30 minutes or so) Walking: I’ll take your pooch for a walk and/or run for as long as they require. House sitting: we will go on walks, snuggle, eat and I will be respectful of the owners home- clean up after myself and the animal so you come home to a nice clean home and you don’t have to rush to take care of your beloved fur baby! Boarding: not my preferred method of watching your pooch but if it’s absolutely needed, I can accommodate to make your pooch feel warm and welcome in my home.I have 2 large male dogs and a 2 year old- they’re great but getting older and less tolerant of other dogs.
“Tori has been hands down AMAZING with our pups! We have a 6 year old springer spaniel and a 6 month old husky/German shepherd mix! They get along well with her dogs and they love the fenced yard and all the attention!”

About: Dog sitting is more than potty breaks and bowls of kibble, it's loving an animal like they're your own, and I'm the best at what I do! I've had dogs all my life, and in addition to personal pet care I've worked in the pet business from the very beginning of my career. I've got a background in the veterinary world as well as a tour through the doggy boarding, daycare, and even training! I've done all the training and certifications to make me the very best in the industry! I understand the needs and behaviors of different dogs and can provide appropriate care based on their age, breed, and individual personality. I've got you covered down the very last detail! Your furry friend needs medication? I'm certified to administer everything from pills to insulin shots! Specialty diet? I'm minding every detail! Working with me is giving your dog a best friend who cares about them, from the tip of their nose to the top of their tail! I'm a stay at home wife, so I'm available all day every day to give your animal all the attention in the world! When you book with me you get the best of the best! If I'm in your home I'm a well mannered guest, I make the bed, do the dishes, and take out the trash. I leave it how you left it, my goal is for you to question if I was even there! When in my own home your animals have the run of our home during the day and a comfortable bed at night! I have two well socialized, well trained, pups who love to play but know when to settle and relax. We do kennel our dogs for their own comfort as they get restless when alone, but I offer a kennel free boarding experience!
“Quimyia is great. She was available on short notice. Her dog is super friendly. While I was gone she took multiple pics and videos while providing updates. My puppy came home happy and clean!”
“We are so happy the way Char cared for our 8 months old Cavapoo! She has some social anxiety but with Char experience, Naiyomi was at the dog park, doggy pool party and relaxing in her home with her fur babies in a couple of days! This made our heart smile:) She kept us updated with endless pics and texts which kept our mind at ease. Char will be the first we will book if we have to leave our fur baby behind again!”

About: I’ve been watching friends and family pets for about 15 years now. Enjoy playing with dogs and cats alike. Experience from 1 year old puppies to 10+ year old dogs. I am available most weekends along with Fridays and Mondays. I’m always running errands in the community and can provide drop in services at this time. :) I have a puppy that is 3 years old and loves making new friends. We would provide services in your home multiple times a day
“I can't recommend Olivia enough! We were in town for a graduation and our Airbnb didn't allow pets. I needed to secure a boarding place for my little maltipoo ASAP. Olivia accommodated my schedule and need so well. I appreciated her taking my last minute request and keeping me updated with pictures/videos. My furbaby had a great time and my mind was at ease. You can count on Olivia!”

About: I am looking forward to meeting and caring for your fur babies. Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns you may have! Generally, my pup gets some play time and exercise in the morning before work, during lunch, and then after work. During work hours, they hang with me in my office playing with toys, enjoying a chewy treat or just cuddling and napping while I work. I have a friendly dog who loves to play (he can be a little vocal - it's the terrier in him) and will be happy to give your fur baby some company. I allow my dog on the furniture and beds, but if you prefer not to, I am happy to adjust per your need. Let me know if your dogs need a specific routine or have play preferences. My main goal is to make sure their time with me is stress-free and they miss you as little as possible.

Nathan is a trooper, all in no matter what "in" entails. When we left Sam, Nathan immediately took time to connect with him - he met our dog's excitement with a peaceful, calm demeanor. Unfortunately while we were away, Nathan had an accident resulting in painful injuries. Due to flights, the earliest we could get back was a day early (he didn't ask, we offered.) I felt terrible, but there was nothing we could do from our end. When we did pick up our large and active pup, he was happy, peaceful, clean, and seemed to be cared for. Once Nathan has had a minute to heal we will absolutely book with him again. Much gratitude and swift recovery, Nathan!

Kat and her Mom took great care of Bailey. I was super concerned because I knew bad storms were passing by and Bailey is very afraid of thunder. Kat took great care of care of Bailey by wrapping her in a blanket and cuddling her. Apparently Bailey really bonded with “Mom.” This is the first time I left her with a sitter where she wasn’t excited to see me. A great sign but broke my heart lol. Will definitely use Kat again.

We love Sana so much! We are so lucky to have found her! She does an amazing job of taking care of our Coco. One of the hardest thing about going on vacation is leaving your pet but with Sana it helps knowing she is in great loving care with Sana! 😊 I can’t say enough about Sana she is just a wonderful caring person. She does so much with Coco taking her on many walks a day, takes her when she is running errands. We always tell her Coco isn’t going to want to come home. I would highly recommend Sana for caring for your pet. Suzy and Barry Dircks

Savanna was outstanding!! When we first contacted her, she was quick to respond and empathetic to this “first time leaving her dog for more than a weekend” Mom. As our vacation got closer, our schedule with Savanna had to be tweaked. She was so easy to work with. Then during our vacation, an emergency came up that caused us to adjust her time with our pup. She was so eager to jump in and help as much as she could. We also loved the daily pics and updates she shared with us. Our pup was a big fan of her, too!

Jena is awesome! This was my first time using Rover. I was nervous to leave my dog with a stranger but my dog was in good hands with Jena. She was easy to communicate with and gave frequent updates. My dog is usually pretty anxious but Jena made her feel right at home. We will definitely be using her again.

Rebecca took outstanding care of our beloved cat while we were out of the country for two months. She is caring, kind, professional, and knows how to interact with cats. We appreciated that she provided updates and photos whenever our spotty internet allowed. I would recommend her to others without reservation!

Ashleigh is THE BEST!!!! Sitter I've ever had for Mu. Her dog is so cute and friendly, and Mu (who usually hides in fear around other dogs) actually started playing with her immediately. Ashleigh sent so many pics and was so sweet to Mu, it was a huge relief to not have to worry about Mu's care on my trip. Mu usually refuses to eat when I'm not around, but she ate her full meals with this sitter. Ashleigh is something special, and will make your dog feel right at home!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
