Lucky had a wonderful time with Lizett! Lucky is still adjusting to his life after being rescued off the streets, but he connected with Lizett instantly. She took him on many walks, which is he loves! She sent me pictures while I was away, so I was extra peaceful knowing Lucky is in good hands. She fed him and made sure to give him lots of cuddles. I am definitely going to get her to watch Lucky again.

About: I'm incredibly responsible and have a deep, lifelong love for animals. I cared for my dog for 16 years and my cat for 18, both well into their senior years. My dog recently passed, and I miss him every day. Joining Rover felt like a natural next step, as I'm not quite ready to get another dog of my own. I have hands-on experience with senior pet care, kidney disease management, and the administration of subcutaneous fluids. I also volunteer at a farm sanctuary. My office is in the Arts District, so I can walk dogs in the neighborhood before/after work and on my lunch break. For pet sitting I can work remotely from your home, or bring your dog to work with me if they prefer a change of scenery. I'm extremely responsible and will make sure your instructions are followed. I've spent over 10 years caring for animals, including 16 years with my own dog and 18 years with my cat, both of whom have since passed. Through caring for my dog, I gained hands-on experience with senior pet care, kidney disease management, and administering subcutaneous fluids. I've used Rover myself when traveling, so I know firsthand how hard it is to find the right sitter and how much trust you're placing in someone. I take that seriously. Whether I'm walking your dog, sitting in your home, or bringing them to my office, your pet's safety and comfort will be my top priority. I'm new to Rover, but happy to supply personal and professional references.

About: Dogs have been my heart since I was 10 years old — and that love has only grown deeper with every cuddle. I am not just a dog lover; I am the kind of person who named their production company after their dog. That is how serious this is. I share my home with two rescue pups — a sweet deer chihuahua and a gentle little terrier mix — both 8.5 lbs of pure calm energy. They set the tone in our space: relaxed, loved, and completely at ease. Any dog who visits steps into that same warmth. Our apartment is 1,300 square feet with a private side yard, so there is always room to stretch out, sniff around, or simply soak up some fresh air together. I work from home full-time, which means your dog is never left waiting — I am here, present, and happy to take them out for walks throughout the day as often as they like. I treat every dog I care for the way I treat my own: with patience, attention, and a whole lot of love. Your pup will be in good hands — and honestly, probably a little spoiled. As a work-from-home writer, dogs are woven into every part of my day — and honestly, they make it better. My own two rescues get three walks daily plus two additional pee breaks, and any dog in my care gets the same rhythm. Stepping away from the screen for a walk isn't a disruption — it's the best part of my routine. I'm always home, always available, and never watching the clock. Your dog will be comfortable, safe, and genuinely loved here. Our home gets beautiful natural light, and our tree-lined neighborhood is calm and walkable — perfect for a curious nose. Sleepovers are absolutely welcome; this is a real home, not a facility. We have a small balcony and side yard if they love to sun! I'm also experienced with medication administration — my own dog Charley is 16 and keeps me well-practiced — so if your pup has a health routine, it's in good hands. We're also pee-pad friendly for senior dogs or those who need that option. What I can promise: your dog won't spend the day in a crate waiting for attention. They'll spend it with me.

Monica is an absolute gem! I haven't left my dogs with a non-family member since before Covid, and I was so nervous to go out of town and leave them with a "stranger." You can absolutely trust Monica with the care of your pets. She provided daily updates and pictures and communication was great. My dogs typically don't have much of an appetite when I'm out of town, so seeing pictures of them eating and coming home to empty bowls shows me how comfortable they were with Monica. She even tidied up the house before leaving. I highly recommend!

About: Hi, I’m Mireya. I am a public health professional by day and a passionate dog walker on the side. As the proud owner of two adorable miniature doxens, I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I’m dependable, patient, and love spending time outdoors. Whether it’s a quick potty break, a long walk, or extra belly rubs, your pup will be in caring hands. I have a flexible work from home schedule. I enjoy talking walks during lunch , so why not walk your dog :). During the weekends , I am free any time. I always make sure my dogs have water right after their walks and always ensure I carry extra potty bags. If warm , we always walk on the shady area.

Kimberly was an exceptional furbaby sitter while we were out of the country! She was incredibly attentive, loving, and caring with our babies, and she sent us pictures and updates every day, which gave us such peace of mind. We were able to truly relax and enjoy our vacation knowing they were happy, comfortable, and so well cared for. Our babies absolutely adored her! They even slept in the bed with her, which brought them so much warmth, comfort, and joy. They became so attached that they followed her around the house like the paparazzi! 😂🐾 Kimberly was also incredibly clean and respectful of our home. 🏠 We returned to everything beautifully cared for and just as we had left it. Having someone you can trust not only with your precious fur babies, but also with your home, is priceless 😍🥰! Thank you, Kimberly 💕😊 We truly couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for our babies. Kimberly treated them like they were her own, and we are so grateful for all the love, attention, and care she gave them. We would absolutely trust her with our babies and our home again without hesitation. We highly recommend Kimberly to anyone looking for a loving, dependable, trustworthy, and respectful pet sitter! ❤️🐾

She was great with Rory during the meeting. For the stay, she was also great! Updates came in frequently, she asked questions, etc. Zero concerns or questions with how our pet was doing. At the end of the stay, she provided an overall summary and some thoughts on Rory which were super helpful. Our house was kept as if no one had stayed here - in a good way! Clean and tidy. FAQs for House Sitting - Ladera Heights

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ladera Heights on Rover is $62.16 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 13,942 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ladera Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ladera Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ladera Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ladera Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ladera Heights. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
