“Julia is fantastic. Took amazing care of our pooch and her communication throughout was phenomenal. Highly recommend Julia and will absolutely use her services in the future. Great experience all around.”

“Overall, I was very impressed with Stephanie's dedication and the genuine bond she formed with my dog. It's comforting to know she's in such capable and caring hands. Thank you, Stephanie, for providing excellent care! I will definitely be reaching out to you the next time I need someone to look after my furry friend.”

“Monica is amazing. Very attentive to my neurotic/traumatizes pups needs. She is quick to respond and sends updates throughout the day. Will definitely be utilizing her services in the future. <3”

“You take a great leap of faith when you let someone you don't know well stay at your house and take care of your dogs while you are away. I had chosen Hannah based on her profile and reviews and she came over several times before we left to meet the dogs and chat with me. She wrote down everything in her notebook, asked many pertinent questions and seemed very trustworthy. I hired her, and she dog sat our two dogs and house sat for two weeks and was absolutely amazing! Hannah emailed me pictures and videos every day we were gone and wrote little descriptions of how the days went with the dogs. It was very charming and I felt safe, knowing the dogs were in the best of hands. When we came home, the dogs were happy, well fed and relaxed and the house looked great. When Hannah came over a few days later to say hi, the dogs greeted her with the kind of hysterical welcome the have until now only showed my husband and myself. This tells me how much they loved and trust her, and so do I! Hannah also worked on housebreaking with my youngest dog, and leash training with both of them and showed me how to continue their training. I will definitely ask Hanna to take care of my dogs next time we go away. You should too!”

“Hannah was great! Super responsive from the get go, kept me updated throughout each day I was gone, and left my house exactly as I left it. Loved the daily photos so I could see my pup having a blast. Thanks, Hannah!”

“Sam stayed at my home and looked after my 9 year old golden retriever for the night. When I returned, I found my place in impeccable condition, and he had taken excellent care of my pet. Sam followed instructions diligently and proved to be a trustworthy caregiver. I will certainly continue to rely on him to take care of my home and dogs.”

“This was my first time leaving my cat overnight since adopting her a few years ago, so I was definitely a bit nervous but Katherine made the whole experience completely worry-free. She provided frequent updates and adorable photos that gave me peace of mind while I was away. She was incredibly friendly, responsive, and accommodating throughout. I also came home to a spotless house, exactly how I left it. I’m beyond grateful for the care she gave my cat and am absolutely certain I’ll be hiring her again for any future cat-sitting needs. Highly recommend!”

“Best dog/house sitter we have ever had. Hugo is the kindest man and so gentle with our rescue pups. He sent us multiple videos and photos daily and was always in touch. We returned home to our house in impeccable condition. Our dogs clearly did not miss us as they were so well cared for!”

About: I'm incredibly responsible and have a deep, lifelong love for animals. I cared for my dog for 16 years and my cat for 18, both well into their senior years. My dog recently passed, and I miss him every day. Joining Rover felt like a natural next step, as I'm not quite ready to get another dog of my own. I have hands-on experience with senior pet care, kidney disease management, and the administration of subcutaneous fluids. I also volunteer at a farm sanctuary. My office is in the Arts District, so I can walk dogs in the neighborhood before/after work and on my lunch break. For pet sitting I can work remotely from your home, or bring your dog to work with me if they prefer a change of scenery. I'm extremely responsible and will make sure your instructions are followed. I've spent over 10 years caring for animals, including 16 years with my own dog and 18 years with my cat, both of whom have since passed. Through caring for my dog, I gained hands-on experience with senior pet care, kidney disease management, and administering subcutaneous fluids. I've used Rover myself when traveling, so I know firsthand how hard it is to find the right sitter and how much trust you're placing in someone. I take that seriously. Whether I'm walking your dog, sitting in your home, or bringing them to my office, your pet's safety and comfort will be my top priority. I'm new to Rover, but happy to supply personal and professional references.
“Wow! Jeff did an incredible job taking care of my two dogs. I was away for three days, and my pups were truly in great hands. Every walk was completed, and I received numerous photos and updates; the communication was terrific 10/10. Jeff was thoughtful, patient, and incredibly accommodating, especially with one pup who has some special needs and likes to hide under the bed. I’m so grateful for the care and attention given to my girls. Will absolutely book again. Highly recommend- a fantastic dog sitter and person!!!! Thank you, Jeff!”
“Riley is a warm and caring pet sitter! I knew my chihuahua was in good hands at the first meeting, and Riley's confidence and capability in handling my puppy was greatly reassuring. From the pictures, videos and updates it was clear my dog had a great time and felt very comfortable with Riley! So happy to have found her before my trip!”

“Amber is awesome. We were very nervous about leaving our newly adopted and anxious pup and she eased all of our concerns! She was very calm and patient with Poppy. We can tell Amber truly loves dogs and has a gentle way of working with them. Will definitely rebook!”

“I am so happy that I had Liana care for my dog Sparky. Sparky is a geriatric special needs dog that needs medication for heart disease 6 times a day. He also has degenerative disc disease so needs help going up steps and lifting him. Liana was tender and lovingly caring for Sparky, knew where he was all the time he was in her care. I highly recommend her without any reservations. I was totally at ease knowing Liana was cring for Sparky.”

“Nikki is amazing! Professional, experienced, kind, communicative, and most importantly, excellent with our dog. She watched our dog in our home and made sure he was well taken care of while we were away. I'd highly recommend her services!”

About: Since I was 10 years old, my family has always had an array of pets (bunnies, parakeets, fish, dogs, and cats) at home. Additionally, neighbors, friends, and family members have also relied on me to care of their pets at times as well. I offer dog-walking and pet watching/boarding services because I moved away from home and can’t be around my pets as much and I would love the chance to offer my experience to those in need of pet assistance while they’re away. I am reliable and would take care of your fur baby as if it were my own! I am responsible, reliable and respectful and can assure you your pet will be well taken care of. I have experience administering medication and taking care of injured pets. I also have experience cleaning litter and potty pads. I work a full time job on weekdays from 9:30am-6pm, but I work from home two days out of the week. I am able to provide walking/drop in services in the mornings between 5am-8:30am and in the evenings between 6:30pm-9pm. I also have weekends open for any pet walking/sitting needs! I live in a gated community and am very cautious about keeping your furbaby safe. I have always taken great care of my own pets and wish to extend the same care towards my client’s pets. I am respectful and responsible and will do my best to not tarnish anything within your home. I tend to keep a tidy place and would do the same in your home should you hire me for any pet sitting services.

Mahita watched our 3 dachshunds for a total of 10 nights, including our 18 yr old who needs medication 3 times a day. She did an amazing job caring for our pups and home while away. She shared photo updates and even performed a couple small tasks around the home. We 100% will be booking with Mahita again.

Hannah provided incredible care for my dog, cats and house. She had to deal with an animal healthy emergency and I was extremely impressed with her communication and the work she put in, getting my cat to the vet, and then an emergency care hospital. My animals loved her! My dog is very shy, and I’ve never seen him so happy. She left my house shining, and my animals very safe and loved.

Emily crushed it! She was super throughout the entire process. Will definitely use again. She was very proactive from the first message - setting up a meet and greet. She was great with Rory during the meeting. For the stay, she was also great! Updates came in frequently, she asked questions, etc. Zero concerns or questions with how our pet was doing. At the end of the stay, she provided an overall summary and some thoughts on Rory which were super helpful. Our house was kept as if no one had stayed here - in a good way! Clean and tidy. Thanks again Emily!!!

Ashton stayed in my home, with my dog Lulu, for two weeks while I traveled for work. Most importantly Lulu was happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for when I returned. Ashton was also just a great house guest. She was clean, quiet, and communicative. 10/10 will rebook with Ashton!

Angel is wonderful and we were so happy to have him care for our dog while we were away for a holiday weekend. He is very professional and caring and it’s clear he knows how to find the right approach to different dogs. He gave our boy plenty of exercise, walks, hikes, and play time and was consistent about sending pictures and updates!

Malin is truly always the best sitter. She takes amazing care of our two pets every time, looking out for them and providing us with the cutest photos ever! She also always leaves the house better than she finds it, and is super responsive. We, and our pets, love malin!

Paula did a wonderful job taking care of our dog and cat. She followed our very detailed instructions, especially for caring for our cat with health problems and who has a habit of ingesting foreign objects. She sent tons of photos and responded promptly to our messages. When we came back, the house was clean and the pets were happy. We’d definitely hire her again!

Christine took the time to get to know our dogs and know us. She listened to us and followed and applied all the tricks and usual plan we had for our babies. She walked them and snuggled with them, knowing that they needed lots of loving. Christine sent several updates and pics daily which was greatly appreciated. She cared for our property and the house was in great shape when we got back. I highly recommend Christine.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Ladera Heights on Rover is $60 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 14,195 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ladera Heights. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ladera Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ladera Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ladera Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
