Pet care experience

Pawesome care 4 the pets out there!

As a young fosterkid in Sweden I relied on animals as my constant companions. As I grew older I realized I preferred the company of animals because they showed their true nature. I have spent years rescuing dogs and cats, but I have experience caring for other furry and feathered friends too. Through the years, I have cared for the youngest to the seniors needing hospice care. I take pets to the vet if their humans can't. I have administered medications with a heavy dose of sweet whispers and loving attention. I have also been present as a calming source for the trip across the Rainbow Bridge when the humans needed me to be. Loving any pet is a gift not to be taken for granted. I have professionally taken care of other people's pets since 1997. I have clients I have been with since 2001. Some clients who moved away pay me to travel to their new State. I spent November in Wisconsin for example. Pets love me and their humans trust me.

Safety, trust & environment

I will care for the pets in question according to the desires of their humans and as if they were mine. As I don't board pets my care is made up of visits or stays in your home. When in your home I will care for it as if it was my own too, and respect what rules are normally followed. When I stay in your home, I will tend to the usual things that go with that: mail, take out trash bins, water plants, coordinate with possible workers coming by, etc. I am experienced with emergencies popping up for both pets and homes and have successfully handled the situation in the moment. This is a reason I always ask for an Emergency contact, in case a homeowner/pet parent is out of reach. Been there. Done that.

Marie took great care of our kitties and was very sweet to bring some churus and a toy for them.

Marie was wonderful with my cat, Fluffy! She was very responsive and responsible throughout, keeping me updated and giving me peace of mind. It was clear how much she genuinely loved spending time with Fluffy and enjoyed her job. I would definitely trust her again and highly recommend her to others.

Marie is the absolute best! She took such incredible care of my senior dog, Honey, treating her as if she were her own. She has a special way with dogs, providing them with so much love, patience, and attention. I never had to worry for a second because I knew my pup was in the best hands. Marie is trustworthy, compassionate, and truly goes above and beyond. If you’re looking for someone who will love and care for your dog like family, Marie is the one! Plus, she sends the most amazing pictures. 💗🙏🏼

Marie embraced our two dogs like they were her own. We have one senior dog that needed extra TLC as well as meds & she administered them with no issue as well as sent many photos. Our other dog is high energy & she spent quality time with both making sure they got what they needed. We felt so comfortable with her & I can't imagine anyone else looking after our fur babies. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her, she has many years of experience & is just an overall sweet person. She reached out a few weeks after our trip to make sure our older dog was doing okay. She really cares.

There is nobody better than Marie! I don’t think I can ever leave town again unless I can secure her to take care of my kids ❤️

Schedule

If I am showing as AWAY, I am either traveling or staying with pets off Rover. Otherwise, my schedule is rather flexible, with appointments for both animals and humans. First come first serve. However, there is plenty of time to fill in the void in between commitments. Many animals need extra care, while others are fine spending 6 to 8 hours alone, because this is what they are used to with working families on a regular basis. Animals/pets of all kinds are part of my daily routines so the desire is to make the day as normal for all. If you book a night of housesitting, that includes day time visits to feed, walk and play as well. If you do not need as many visits during the day I will give you a discount of up to 30% off my part of the daily fee, since it opens up my schedule for other appointments during the day. (A reminder... Rover adds a 25% surcharge based on my fee.) We can discuss details when we speak/meet. A Meet & Greet is necessary to even decide to go ahead with an assignment, to make sure both parties are a good fit. I charge $10 for the meet and greet, due to gas costs. If the assignment goes ahead the M & G fee will be waived. I will charge $10 for pick up and $10 drop off of keys if needed, again to cover gas costs. If you need help with administration of medication etc... you'll have to book an hour visit. If medication or other needs are desired while during a scheduled house sit... there may be an added $10 to $20 surcharge. It all depends on circumstances, cooperation from the pet in question, as well as timing. These would be things to discuss when we meet.

I need to know each pet and their routines, as far as eating and play, or other specifics. I need to have all the pertinent information for the vet office normally used. I need to know if the pet in question is used to spending time alone, and for how long, since I may have other appointments throughout the day.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
