“Gaileen was great! She was very easy to communicate with and always quick to respond. She sent us some great pics and a video to update us on our pup’s stay with her and nice feedback as to how he was settling in during his stay. She took great care of our guy and we will definitely book her again!”

“We love Julius and so does our pup! We've used his family so many times and each time has been easy and no problems at all. It's so nice having peace of mind that our pup is loved and well cared for.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for Piper’s overnight stay with a sitter! Karen did a fantastic job keeping us updated throughout the five days, sending daily photos and messages that gave us peace of mind. It was clear that Piper was well taken care of, happy, and even got to enjoy many trips to the park! Knowing she was in such great hands made our time away so much easier. We highly recommend Karen and would absolutely book with her again in the future!”

About: I love animals. I grew up with dogs and as an adult have owned a Black Lab, King Charles Cavalier, and now have a Jack Russel mix! I'm very active and like taking dogs on long walks! I work from home and am very active. I walk my dog to the beach or harbor every day, into town, and for hikes on nearby trails. I'm a very caring and responsible dog owner.. I have a safe home and would be happy to keep your dog with me or pet sit at your house and take him or her on several walks!
“Sherry gave my dogs the attention and affection they needed while they were in her care. She has gone above and beyond for my one dog whom is a little difficult. We had a great experience.”

“Jayme is amazing! I appreciated her attentiveness to Jazzy’s idiosyncrasies . She texted whenever she had questions in a way that I knew she really cared about him. Thank you for taking such good care of my little boy!”

“Wonderful couple! They give your pet lots of love and ensure that your pet is happy and well taken care of. They send photos and updates on a regular basis. I would recommend highly to use this couple for dogsitting your loving pet! Amazing! I am definitely having them again!”

“Honestly we could not be more pleased with Jill. She is a true dog lover and a wonderful person to deal with. We literally felt like we were leaving our Golden Retriever with a family member! I highly recommend her.”

“Wonderful experience boarding our dog! Kristen allowed us to do a meet and greet with her cat before booking, to ensure that her home was a good fit. Despite being Christmas week, Kristen was super accommodating and made us feel comfortable leaving our dog with her. She was great at communicating and took amazing care of Raya! ❤️”

“Carolina was so accommodating and understanding. I could tell my puppy enjoyed being around her and her family. She gave his his meds as she was asked to and kept him on my same routine. Would definitely book her again.”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Elizabeth! The pups were happy to see us, but obviously very well cared for! We received daily updates and photos which gave us such peace of mind. I would definitely recommend Elizabeth to everyone, and will be using her again!”

“Danielle and her husband were absolutely amazing while watching our little guy (Jaxson) for a quick getaway this week. We were given constant updates/pictures, and he clearly made himself right at home and was as comfortable as can be. Communication was prompt from the beginning and we were truly at ease while we were away that he was receiving more than adequate care. Jax became quick friends with their pets, and was moping around when we got home because he clearly misses them! Could not recommend enough!”

“Klaudia was awesome! Our elderly dog had a health crisis while she was caring for him, and she took him to the vet, was very good with communication, and really cared about our guy for 2 days while we made our way home early from vacation. Highest recommendation!!”

“Brianna has watched 2 dogs for us a couple of times now, and both times, she was amazing with them. One of the dogs is a low maintenance elderly dog that does need medications, and the other is a high maintenance velvro dog with fence and leash reactivity (though he does play nicely with other dogs). She has taken both into her home and embraced them as they are. I’m so impressed by how well she handles both of our dogs and we always try to book with Brianna first when we travel before making other arrangements. You won’t regret using this sitter!!”

“Excellent experience with Aileen. Communication before and during my trip was excellent. Many photos and videos were sent during my time away. Would highly recommend Aileen and will re-book in the future when needed.”

“This was Luna's first time being away from us and I was so afraid with how she might be with someone new and away from her family. To my surprise she did fantastic with Lauren and had alot of fun! I received many pictures of Luna throughout her time away and little updates. She socialized with other pups, smelled amazing since she was bathed before she came home, and I can tell she was comfortable because when I got there she wiggled her little rump and was so excited to see me but she also would go back to Lauren to say goodbye. It was the sweetest thing. Thank you again, Luna will definitely be back!”

“Liza was an excellent care taker for Lexington during his overnight stay. She provided daily updates and timely responses. Would definitely recommend and I plan to continue to use her moving forward.”

“Yajaira was excellent. It was my first time boarding my dog. She answered all my questions and I was able to go on my trip knowing my dog was in great hands. She sent daily pictures and updates. My dog was well cared for. I will definitely leave my dog with her again.”

“Bianca is very responsible and does an amazing job at caring for my dog. I have left my dog with her multiple time in the past and every time she goes above and beyond. Thank you Bianca!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Killingworth
Holly hosted my dog for a sleepover on super short notice while we visited family. She provided many updates and several pictures of their walks. Holly even took her to several trails during the quick stay! There aren't many that will take on an opinionated or chatty husky for even a night but I'm thankful Holly was up for it! I'll definitely use her again next time we are in the area.

Holly was more than outstanding! Right from our initial text conversations I knew we'd have a great experience with her! The meet and great was wonderful and she was just so sweet with our dog, and so very understanding of our dog's needs. We were at ease right away. And our dog took to Holly and her home immediately...she just seemed very comfortable with Holly and in her home. By the end of of the meet and great we knew this would be a great match, and we felt confident leaving our dog with her. (We have an senior dog with some special needs who we adopted only 1.5 years ago, and we're always a little nervous leaving her hoping she doesn't think she's been left again for good.) Well, what a time she had at Holly's. We kept joking that our dog was having so much fun that she wasn't going to want to come back home with us! Holly's updates and photos while we were away were such a great comfort for us and showed us how at ease and well taken care of our sweet senior dog was at her house. We will most definitely use Holly again....and again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
