“Nadine came to let my two boys out on Thanksgiving day, I appreciated the fact that she was happy to do it and also said she would come a little earlier as she didn't want them to be too long with out being able to go outside. She was very reliable and made good with my one dog Lewie who is not friendly to strangers. Thank you Nadine and I do hope we can use your services again! Lewie & Tito say thank you for the treats and taking them out for their potty break! Take care, Gail”

“Troy was awesome with Asher!! Left very detailed feedback, and got him some much needed exercise during the day while I'm gone. Asher was very tired after, which is the goal! I have no complaints and would recommend to anyone looking to supplement some socialization and exercise for their pets.”

About: I have well over 24 years caring for dogs. I believe a house isn't a home without a dog. We (me and my family) lost our dog, Teddy, about 11/2 years ago. It has been very hard living without him. I still look for him at the door whenever I come home. We are still heartbroken from his passing. Someday we hope to find the courage to love again. Until then we want to love on all the doggies that come to stay and play with us. When your dog is here he/she is part of our family. Please be willing to come by with your pup for a meet & greet before any reservations are made. Our main concern is that you are completely comfortable leaving your fur-baby with us. Here is a coupon for $20 off. Your Promo Code: TIFFAK87923 Your promo code is only for new Rover members you recruit through your profile link. Rules and restrictions apply—read our Terms of Service to learn more. I work for H&R Block during tax season, January thru April. I am home all day the rest of the year to care for your doggie. I care for your dog as if he/she were my own. We will go on walks to Greenbelt Park, Grays Lake, and all throughout our neighborhood. We can play fetch in our yard. Also, belly rubs are a must :)
“Monica was absolutely amazing! She sent so many great pictures of the dogs, so we knew they were good. She did so well with them, and our dogs are not exactly well trained. This was our first time, but I'm sure won't be our last. Would 100% recommend her to anyone!”

“Anna is absolutely Amazing! She is fantastic with both our furbabies...they get so excited to see her! She is very reliable, dependable, and great at communicating with me!! You would be lucky to have her take care of your furbabies!”

“Kendra is so wonderful! She noticed that my cat was out of food and gave him more for me. And my dog really emits her visits too! We’ll be requesting her services again, I highly recommended her if you need any help with your fur babies!! and... She is always right on time”
“Kelly was great with my dogs! She was very prompt with her responses and answered all our questions. Our dogs were well cared and super happy. Will definitely have Kelly watch them again!”

“Angela was so sweet with my dog! She came for a meet and greet and I and my dog were immediately comfortable with her. She gave my boy so much love and provided check ins with photos every time. He was so happy and well taken care of while I was away. I’m happy to have found Angela and to know that my pup was in such good hands!”

About: Hello! I’ve had dogs my whole life, but in the recent years my passion for training my dogs has increased. I’ve had dogs anywhere from 2 weeks old to 10 years old. I’ve successfully trained my dogs to sit, lay, stay, give paws, walk without leashes, potty train, and many more things. Along with this, recently I’ve began working with other pet owners and their dogs to improve their dogs performance. I’m very excited to get to work with your dogs! We have been blessed with lots of outside space! We have a fenced in backyard so your furry friend can play with others! My wife currently works at home and I have a very flexible schedule so you can count on someone always being available to be with your furry friend! Our mission is to make your pup have a mini vacation while you do! So please let us know any special requests you might have that’ll make your pup happy and keep your mind at ease! We’re all excited to meet you and your special friend! My wife currently works from home so she is home all the time to hangout with your furry friends! And I have tons of flexibility with my work as well! So your furry friends won’t be alone! 😊 We have a lot of outside space for your buddies to run around and have a good time! We are open to your pups roaming around our house if that’s what they do at their home! We’d like to keep a similar routine in our home as you have in yours so you furry friends feel at home!
“Our pup LOVES Kassy! She has been amazing with her even as she goes through her teething phase, follows our routine and shows up on time. Our cat also loves Kassy which is big bonus points because he doesn’t like anyone but us!”

About: I’ve been caring for pets for family and friends for much of my life and am excited to bring those skills to Rover. I have owned my own dog for 6 years now and have learned a ton about having a dog that requires boundaries and maintenance for triggers of his reactivity. I’ve learned patience and am happy to do that for your furry friends as well! I work from home on Mondays and Fridays which gives me the flexibility to leave for drop-in visits throughout the day and after work! Tuesday-Thursdays can also be arranged if your home is near my office - contact me for details! While I’m unable to care for others’ pets in my own home since my pup prefers human friends, I will care for your pet in any way you need in your own home. I prefer homes where I can let your pet out into a fenced yard but am happy to take pets out on a leash if they are leash trained and/or you prepare me for their behavior.
“Jessica treats my pup great, he seems so happy when she comes for check ins! She always sends pictures and communicates how the visit went. I highly recommend her!”

“Megan was able to make a home visit in the middle of the day on short notice. Though she was there a short duration, she still sent pictures. We could tell our dog was happy to see her again.”

About: I was raised volunteering at a local animal shelter. I have experience with both small and large breeds of dogs. I have a teacup Chihuahua and a black cat of my own that I am here for, walk, and groom. I am able to work with any breed. I love cats as well and will gladly provide care for them too. I am looking for regular daily drop in care for either cats or dogs. I am willing to provide walking services as well. I am free from early morning to early afternoon. I currently work second shift from 3:30 to 10 PM as a Security garden Sunday through Friday. I understand the privacy of your home and will respect that. I believe, compassionate and empathy is very important and I hope to gain the trust and love of your furry family. I am clean and organized and will respect your living space. I have no criminal record and I have good references.
About: Hi! I’m a veterinary technician with 7 years of hands on experience providing compassionate, skilled care to animals of all ages and medical needs. I have a strong background in pediatric care, critical care nursing, and monitoring medically complex patients, so you can feel confident your pet is in knowledgeable, capable hands. I’m experienced in medication administration (oral, injectable, topical), post surgical care, monitoring vitals, recognizing early signs of illness or distress, and providing supportive care for senior pets and those with chronic conditions. I’m also comfortable caring for puppies, kittens, and pets that need extra patience, structure, or special routines. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and emotional well being are always my top priorities. I treat every animal as if they were my own and aim to provide a calm, stress free environment while keeping you updated with regular photos and messages. Whether your pet is young, aging, or needs a little extra medical attention, I’m here to provide reliable, loving, and professional care while you’re away. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. I intentionally schedule my availability to ensure pets receive consistent attention, proper exercise, and timely meals and medications. With my background as a veterinary technician, I’m very accustomed to structured care schedules, monitoring routines, and adapting to each pet’s specific needs. I prioritize regular check-ins, enrichment, and calm one on one time, and I plan my days so pets are never rushed or overlooked. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding schedules, medication administration, or extra monitoring for puppies, seniors, or medical cases, pet care is a planned and reliable part of my routine, not an afterthought. For drop-ins and house sitting, I care for pets in their own home to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I follow their normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and medications. I also monitor their health and behavior during each visit and make sure their space stays clean and safe. I always send updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.
“Amanda is so caring for my animals. I had to run for an emergency and she came to rescue, executed everything perfectly and gave me peace of mind and heart that my pet was given love and comfort and cared for when I had to run out of town. Thank you so much it means the world.”
About: My family has had pets my whole life, and I spent a lot of time taking care of them. I’ve always had an ability to connect with animals of all sizes (and attitudes)! One of my strongest suits when meeting a new cat or dog is to evaluate and understand their own specific body language. They can tell us what they need, we just have to listen! I know some pets take a little longer to feel comfortable around a new human, and I always give them the space and patience that they need. I work during the day at a school, so I’m mostly free outside of school hours. I am also off work during school holidays. I do have some evening and weekend activities, but I still have plenty of time to take care of pets. Routines are very important for animals, so I will do what is needed to keep those routines in place and make them feel happy in their own home. As long as I know what the expectations are, we are good to go!

About: I have taken care of friends and neighbors animals from dogs to chickens since I was 11. I love animals and am patient with senior dogs. Available all summer until August 10th, Minus a week in July. Earliest time available in the morning for drop ins is 6am, latest time is 11pm. I have a reliable car and can make it pretty much anytime of day to your house! I can make accommodations for dogs with any personality- I can create a calm space for hyper dogs and a comfortable space for scared or shy dogs.
“Jaden cared for our cats with drop-in visits while we were gone on a trip. She came to meet our two cats and learn their routines in advance, and captured pics each day when she visited. Thank you, Jaden!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Johnston with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
