“Deana was great at communication, recording the walks, and keeping my pup so happy! Will use again. If your dog/pet is your best friend/baby, you can trust that Deana will take amazing care of them!”

“Lindsay is incredible. Our pup loved her as do I. I trust her as does my pup. She was mindful of a meniscus issue that my girl has by allowing her to dictate a much shorter walk, and instead Lindsay stayed with her for the remainder of the scheduled time to love and play with her inside. She thoughtfully filled her water bowl before leaving, and sent me a the most wonderful pictures of their time together. I will be scheduling a weekly standing with her.”

“Michelle is wonderful with my new rescue pup, Harriet. Michelle is on time, treats Harriet like her own fur baby, and is a great communicator. It’s so nice to have peace of mind knowing Harriet is in loving and responsible hands. Thanks, Michelle!”

About: My father raised and trained dogs so I have been caring for dogs since childhood. I have been personally caring for my own dogs as well as dogs of family and friends for the past seven years. I am medically trained for emergencies and can care for special needs pets. My dog is deaf and I have learned to communicate with her. I will treat your pet with the love and kindness as I do my own. I can be available day and night, weekends and holidays even on short notice. This is my full-time job and will be available seven days a week 24 hours a day and can provide same-day service for sittings, walks and drop-in visits. I will follow all rules of the home in which I am sitting. I will never leave pets unattended. They will have my full attention and safety is my number one priority.
“Our dog absolutely loved her walks with Olivia. I was very nervous to have someone walk our dog while out of town but Olivia was able to come for a meet-n-greet before we left. Our dog immediately took her, which was a relief. She sent us pictures through the app for every visit! Highly recommend Olivia and will be reaching out if we need her again!”

About: Growing up, my nuclear family cared for roughly thirty cats, both indoor and outdoor. Naturally, part of my daily routine was feeding them all before getting on the school bus, keeping the litter boxes and surrounding areas tidy throughout the day, and of course providing AMPLE love to all. I have experience nursing abandoned kittens to health and maturity, as well as acclimating feral cats into the home. I am more than keen when it comes to feline behavior! (My mother used to "joke" that her four children should come together and open a vet clinic.) Today, my husband and I have a well-trained, 3 year old shepherd mix named Poet, whom we adopted at just 8 weeks old, and a 5 year old American bobtail kitty named Millie, who we also rescued. We both work from home and our animals are our absolute lives. Normal days for us include walks around the neighborhood, as well as trips to City Bark. We have a fenced in backyard for potty time, as well as sun bathing. Both as our animal have free reign of our home; they watch TV with us, answer email with us, snooze with us, cook with us, etc.! You can trust that your fur baby would be met with the same love, adoration, and care that we provide to our own. Both my husband and myself work from home and are able to provide near-constant care for your fur babies, whether that pertain to potty breaks or play time! We have a modest fenced in yard, as well as one dog and one cat of our own. Both are friendly with all species! We have ample space (spare bedrooms) to set up up a crate/kennel if desired.
About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and my current dog is the center of my life. I’m hoping to pursue a career in dog training and I love spending time with dogs and doing fun activities with them. I’m currently working part time with a pretty flexible schedule so I have plenty of time to spend looking after and playing with your dogs! I have a fenced yard and a very well behaved dog that gets along well with other dogs. I am happy to crate for the dogs safety and I will keep a close eye on them when I am home.
About: I have grown up with pets since I was a child and currently have 2x 50 pounders. I have been house sitting and dog walking for neighbors and family friends for over 10 years, and been on pet care platforms for 5+ years. Happy to lend an extra hand where needed! Summer break! Loads of free time on my hands. Hospitality professional taking the month of July off and able to offer my services in Metairie, Kenner, New Orleans I pay lots of attention to pets when on the clock and at home. I also have reliable transportation. I can provide drop in, walking, and overnight stays for the next few weeks

About: I have years of professional experience in the animal industry, including managing dog daycare and boarding facilities, as well as managing a veterinary molecular diagnostics company specializing in PCR testing for animals of every kind, literally A to Z, from anteaters to zebras! My background combines hands on pet care with animal health knowledge, allowing me to provide attentive, safety focused care for pets of all ages, breeds, personalities, and medical needs. I am also PACCC Certified, a Certified Professional Animal Care Provider, as well as Pet CPR and First Aid Certified. My home is designed to be a safe, comfortable, and enriching environment where dogs are treated like family. Guests are welcome throughout the home and can enjoy cozy dog beds, the couch, enrichment toys, tunnels, brush outs, a kiddie pool, a fully fenced yard, and plenty of photo updates during their stay. Dogs are welcome to sleep in bed with me if that’s what they’re used to, or they can be kenneled if that’s their normal routine. Because I have two friendly resident dogs, all boarding and daycare guests must be comfortable around dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and genders. Playgroups are carefully matched based on temperament, play style, size, and energy level. My home is generally best suited for low to medium energy dogs, and I especially love caring for senior pets and laid back personalities. High energy dogs are welcomed on a case by case basis. Safety is always my top priority, so I do have a few requirements before accepting bookings. • Dogs should be potty trained. I completely understand that occasional accidents happen, especially during transitions or with puppies learning routines. However, frequent accidents or ongoing indoor marking may not be the best fit for my home. • Puppies are welcome, but I ask that owners are completely transparent about their current potty training progress and care needs. • Please disclose any bite history, behavioral concerns, previous daycare dismissals, reactivity, resource guarding, destructive habits, separation anxiety, escaping crates, counter surfing, digging, chewing, or other behaviors that may affect their stay. • Dogs displaying normal stress behaviors such as growling, air snaps, baring teeth, or setting boundaries while uncomfortable are not automatically disqualified. However, true aggression toward people or other animals is not accepted. I maintain a zero tolerance policy for aggression within my home. Transparency allows me to safely manage personalities, prevent conflicts, and create the best experience for everyone. Please also let me know whether your dog is kennel trained, whether they need to be crated when left alone, and if they relax well in a kennel or become stressed while confined. Depending on each dog’s behavior and routine, many guests are able to enjoy supervised free roam privileges. Since Rover does not cover damage inside a sitter’s personal home, owners are responsible for any damages caused during a stay. Repair or replacement costs may apply, with a minimum charge of $100 if damage occurs. While my home environment is intentionally structured and carefully managed, I am also comfortable taking on more complex behavioral or medical cases within a client’s home. My care style focuses on structure, enrichment, positive guidance, manners, redirection, safety, and making every dog feel comfortable, confident, and at home. Every routine is individualized because no two dogs are exactly alike. If you’re new to Rover, feel free to use my referral link for $20 off your first booking. NOTE: Rover keeps 20% of sitter earnings while adding approximately 11% in fees to the client. The more I know about your dog’s routine, personality, quirks, anxieties, favorite activities, and individual needs, the better I can tailor their stay. I would always rather know too much than not enough. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through everything and for considering me with your pet’s care. I truly believe great communication creates the safest and most enjoyable experience for everyone, especially your pet. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I never take that responsibility lightly. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! Pet care is an important part of my daily routine. I make sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, and care throughout the day. Whether it’s morning walks, feeding schedules, playtime, or administering any special care they need, I prioritize their well-being. I also plan my schedule to allow flexibility for pet sitting, ensuring I can accommodate different needs, whether it’s daily walks, overnight stays, or drop-ins I have a fully fenced yard and a friendly fur baby to keep your pup company! There are plenty of enrichment toys to keep them busy, along with natural, tasty treats for some extra tail wags. It’s definitely a dog’s world in this household!

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Jefferson
Mallory was great and most importantly, my dog thought so too! We were visiting New Orleans from out of town and a bit leary about leaving our boxer in a strange place with strange people. Mallory responded quickly to my somewhat last minute request for a 3 day dog walking booking during jazz fest. She even came for a pre-visit meet and greet. She sent us photos and updates of her visits, and offered flexibility on her times. This is my first time using Rover and Mallory made it an amazing experience. I would absolutely call her again and again and again! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 5/5 PAW Rating!

I had a great experience Sara. She was punctual and communicated really well, so I always knew what was going on. Also, she took amazing photos like seriously, the pictures were so good I couldn’t believe it. My dog absolutely loved her and now she’s basically my dog’s new best friend. I’d definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, friendly, and genuinely good with dogs.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
