About: I have always lived with dogs since I was a small child. The last 8 years I have been house/dog sitting for a retired couple with multiple dogs. This past May I lost my 16 year old rat terrier- broke my heart. Shortly after a relative asked me to keep his chocolate lab for a week and I loved it. I miss having a dog at the house! I work full time currently from home until COVID pandemic is over. My office is 10 minutes away from home- lunch visits to the house would be made on days needed. I own my own home with a fenced in yard next door to a empty lot. I have no children do it would be just me at the house.

“Amanda had been a huge part of helping Dodger to grow into the happiest and best behaved pup ever! She is caring and always takes the time to send me details of her time with Dodger. Highly recommend Amanda!”

“McCall is incredibly responsive and a great addition to our routine. She provides updates and pictures from their walk which is so appreciated. Our dog has epilepsy and she has gone out of her way to give my family peace of mind. I am confident our dog is happy and safe while in her care.”

About: I've been caring for dogs since I was a 15. Spoiling pets is one of my biggest personality traits! My dog has dietary and physical limits so I am comfortable doing whatever your pet needs. I am currently working part time and my schedule is very open and flexible. I can visit or walk your pet any time before 7 pm. I can walk your dog however long they need. I can play with them or feed them. Making you and your pet happy and comfortable is my highest priority.

“For the past 3 years Andy has been caring for my animals, and we have been ever so grateful to have them. You'll never find a more caring, bigger animal loving, and patient person to care for your pets. Andy has been a rock to lean on when I needed it most, and has always been super accomidating to my needs. They will always have a place in our home & hearts, and my whole household will always love them dearly. They are more than just our dog handler for walking, drop-ins, and sitting... they are family to us.”

“Alexis is amazing! My dog broke out with a rash and Alexis went above and beyond to communicate with me and spend time getting her the proper medication and giving her a bath.”

About: Currently servicing Metairie and Kenner only. Veteran volunteer at Jefferson Parish Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS). I am interested in doing some extra afternoon pet sitting and dog walking. I am used to walking most large and mid-size dogs, as well as small dogs. When it comes to an initial visit, It's important to establish a rapport with pets to gain their trust and confidence. Visits and walks are 30 minutes; however, I am happy to to spend extra time if needed. I am retired and have a lot of free time on my hands. So I am available afternoons 11AM to 5PM, Monday through Sunday and most holidays. Pet safety and security is always a top priority. Leaving a pet unattended can lead to them to go missing or vulnerable to outside prey. I believe every pet should wear a GPS collar to be aware of its whereabouts at all times.

About: If you're seeking a sitter who has been there, done that, and got the t-shirt, look no further! I was born and raised on a small farm, so I am no stranger to the needs of horses, cattle, chickens, sheep, goats, rabbits, fish, lizards, cats, dogs, and wild critters. Every job I've had has revolved around the care of animals, such as being a veterinary technician for large and small animals going on roughly 6 years. My education is centered on animals as well, soon I will have my DVM! My best friend, an Australian Shepherd who went by the name Tayt, passed away in January from Addison's Disease. I know how important your fur babies are to you, to some they are your world, your children. Tayt was my world. Under my care, I will look after your pets and treat them with respect, care, and love. Right now I am a part time veterinary technician and part time student. I am seeking clients on Rover so I can cut back hours at the clinic, hopefully altogether, and become a full time student again. I am a firm believer of schedules. If your pet is on a schedule for meals, medications, outdoor time, potty breaks, etc, I will follow that schedule. If you have a pet that requires lots of attention, I can give them that. If your pet is more of a solitary individual, I will respect that. If your pet requires medication I can administer iv, im, and subcue injections, topical ointments, and oral suspensions. My house is located on a 20 acre horse farm - loads of room to run and play!

About: Hi! I’ve been around animals my whole life. My mom is a biologist so she taught me from a very young age how every living thing has a soul and a place in this world. She would pick up mice and spiders that got into our home with her hands and take them outside (instead of killing them). Needless to say, I am very comfortable around animals. I’ve had dogs and cats as pets my whole life and I consider myself pretty good with them, even when meeting stray cats or other people’s dogs in the street; I am very patient with them and always let them feel confident with me before I pet them. I have never house-sat for dogs before but I have taken care of roommate’s and friend’s dogs while they are at work or out of town, feeding them, and taking them for walks, etc. I have house-sat for my mom’s cat before (at the end of 2021, actually, for her birthday) which you can read about in my testimonials. Full-disclosure – I’m currently looking for a part-time job so I have plenty of time to play with your pups! I have a car so I can drive over to you, just let me know what your daily and weekly needs are so we can figure out a schedule :) I’m currently not allowed to have any fur babies at my apartment so I will give your pups all the attention and play-time they want. Like I said above, I’ll let them get comfortable with me at their own pace but, of course, take care of their basic needs like food, water, and walks. Just let me know how they do with other dogs on the street and with other humans – if they’re shy, really energetic, etc.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life ranging in age from puppies to senior dogs. I’ve taken care of and dog sat for multiple family members and family friends. I’m currently looking for part time work. So I’ll have plenty of time to look after or walk your pups. I’m able to do walk morning, afternoon, or evening and can even dog sit but am unable to offer boarding. I make sure the pets have food and water. I also try and make sure they go outside and in walks constantly. I try and make sure all energy is out before I leave or go to sleep.

“Ryan was on time and reported on my dogs with photos!! My first time using Rover app and was a great experience!! I will for sure use him again.”

About: I’ve grown up in a household with four pets—two cats and two dogs—so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. As our dogs got older, I helped my family with their care, including giving them pills and administering shots. I also took on a lot of responsibility with the younger ones. During high school, we had a German Shepherd puppy and a Pitbull mix at the same time—definitely a handful (I wouldn’t recommend getting two puppies at once!), but I loved every moment with them. I manage Club Pilates Uptown on Magazine Street and have the flexibility to create my own schedule. I launched our monthly event, Puppies & Pilates, in partnership with Take Paws Rescue, combining my passion for both dogs and Pilates! I’m always excited to meet new furry friends! I grew up with a fenced in yard but also have been trained to use a leash with bigger dogs. Our cats didn’t get along with our dogs growing up so we had to separate them and constantly watch them.
