About: I’ve cared for many pets and farm animals since I was a child. I have multiple years of experience previously volunteering at the Kansas Humane Society. I currently live downtown and work from home with a flexible schedule. I have the time to share my affection with your fur babies or enjoy a long walk. I’m able to visit your home and spend time with your pet inside or let them outside. I’m also available for walks as short or long as desired. DAYCARE: I’m available to host any qualifying pet, but usually watch after dogs who are used to walking downtown. I live in the French Quarter and do not have any outdoor space at my property. Potty breaks will be leashed walks to the park, one block away.

“Daphne was wonderful in taking care of my pups so thoroughly. I loved the detailed notes. She helped me on my wedding day which I am so grateful for. Would definitely use her again.”

“Deana was great at communication, recording the walks, and keeping my pup so happy! Will use again. If your dog/pet is your best friend/baby, you can trust that Deana will take amazing care of them!”

“Aura was willing to help me out on very short notice. She came to the house and met Two Bit and came back later to walk him. My job is very demanding and it gave me great comfort I Leung he would get his exercise and be cared for. He was in very capable hands with Aura.”

“I highly recommend Ginny.Ginny is awesome!!!!! Petunia my stubborn little Shih Tzu hates everybody, but when Ginny comes in to walk her, she goes up to her immediately and rubs on Ginny like a cat❤️🐶 Ginny is very nice, consistent and on time very reliable and most importantly Petunia loves her! When she comes back from the walk, Petunia is calm ,relaxed and tired👍 Thank you so much Ginny I don’t know what I would do without you!!!❤️🐶 Michelle”

About: My father raised and trained dogs so I have been caring for dogs since childhood. I have been personally caring for my own dogs as well as dogs of family and friends for the past seven years. I am medically trained for emergencies and can care for special needs and sick dogs. I will treat your pet with the love and kindness as I do my own. I can be available day and night, weekends and holidays even on short notice. I am hoping to make this a full-time position and will be available seven days a week 24 hours a day and can provide same-day service. I will follow all rules of the home in which I am sitting. I will never leave pets unattended. They will have my full attention and safety is my number one priority.
About: I provide attentive, individualized care designed to keep your dog's routine as consistent and comfortable as possible while you're away. Because I work from home and intentionally keep my boarding capacity small, I'm able to provide plenty of companionship, supervision, exercise, and individual attention throughout the day. To help you feel connected while you're away, I provide regular photo and video updates throughout your dog's stay. Every boarding also concludes with a personalized summary of their meals, walks, potty habits, behavior, and overall experience, so you know exactly how their stay went. I share my home with Tully, my friendly, well-socialized Golden Retriever. Because this is his home too, I prioritize good matches and a calm, comfortable environment for both resident and visiting dogs. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. As a university instructor with a flexible schedule, I have the flexibility to provide frequent walks, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. I care for every dog as an individual, following their normal routine as closely as possible while providing regular photo updates and a personalized boarding summary at the end of each stay. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priorities. I care for every dog as an individual by following their normal feeding, potty, exercise, and sleep routines as closely as possible. I require proof of current rabies vaccination before boarding to help maintain a safe environment for every pet in my home. I provide regular photo and video updates throughout each stay so you can have peace of mind while you’re away, and every boarding concludes with a personalized summary of your dog’s stay. My goal is to create a calm, clean, and welcoming environment where your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for like family.

“Robin was amazing! My dog, Leo, and I were in town for a work trip. Robin walked Leo while I was in meetings, and I know he had the best time. She took the most amazing pictures of him! I will definitely be using Robin again when we are back in New Orleans!”

“A great first meeting. Hannah was on time and attentive to my concerns. My boy laid his head on her foot within minutes of meeting. I feel fortunate that Hannah is close to our place.”

“Stacy and Patrick are awesome! They always leave detailed reviews of our dog’s walk which makes us feel comforted. We also appreciate their availability whenever we need them. We know they can take care of our crazy husky. We highly recommend them!”

“Amanda was amazing and accommodating of my last minute booking. I could tell instantly she deeply cared about my older dog. A+ communication. Strongly recommend. Thanks again, Amanda!!!”

About: Growing up, my nuclear family cared for roughly thirty cats, both indoor and outdoor. Naturally, part of my daily routine was feeding them all before getting on the school bus, keeping the litter boxes and surrounding areas tidy throughout the day, and of course providing AMPLE love to all. I have experience nursing abandoned kittens to health and maturity, as well as acclimating feral cats into the home. I am more than keen when it comes to feline behavior! (My mother used to "joke" that her four children should come together and open a vet clinic.) Today, my husband and I have a well-trained, 3 year old shepherd mix named Poet, whom we adopted at just 8 weeks old, and a 5 year old American bobtail kitty named Millie, who we also rescued. We both work from home and our animals are our absolute lives. Normal days for us include walks around the neighborhood, as well as trips to City Bark. We have a fenced in backyard for potty time, as well as sun bathing. Both as our animal have free reign of our home; they watch TV with us, answer email with us, snooze with us, cook with us, etc.! You can trust that your fur baby would be met with the same love, adoration, and care that we provide to our own. Both my husband and myself work from home and are able to provide near-constant care for your fur babies, whether that pertain to potty breaks or play time! We have a modest fenced in yard, as well as one dog and one cat of our own. Both are friendly with all species! We have ample space (spare bedrooms) to set up up a crate/kennel if desired.
“Darin is a great friend to animals and goes at their speed which is important for one of our girls who is unsure of everything. He is also communicative and reliable. Would absolutely recommend!”

“Angela did a terrific job walking my dog. She was prompt and flexible with start times. She even walked him in the cold rain one day! I would definitely hire her again as a dog walker to help me out.”
“Ayanna was such a wonderful person to have walk our dogs while my mom was away. One of our dogs takes a little time to warm up to people but after a day when she realized Ayanna was there to help her, she gladly joined her sister in their daily walks. It was great knowing they were in good hands! Thanks you, Ayanna!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Storyville
Deana does an amazing job meeting dogs where they are. She is not a “one size fits all” style care provider. She’s incredibly gentle and patient with our nervous girl. Our dog really likes her, but is anxious to go on walks without me coming with, and Deana has come up with dynamite suggestions to keep incrementally increasing our dog’s comfort level. Super practical, simple things that are definitely helping!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
