“Joree was super sweet and communicative. Quick responses and very flexible. Left my place looking tidy and with a happy pup to come home to :) Highly recommend and will use again!”

“Joel is the perfect dog sitter for our 13 year old Weimaraner. He does a great job caring for her and makes her very happy. We’re very lucky to be able to go out of town and not worry about our pet.”
“Danielle C was an outstanding pet and house sitter! I could not recommend her more. She communicated with me throughout her stay, sent amazing photos and clearly loved being with my dogs. I can’t wait to have her back :-)”

“Ebony did such a great job with our dogs! She was super easy to communicate with, sent pictures of the pups multiple times a day, and followed all the instructions we left. Ebony also took great care of my less people friendly dog and ended up earning her trust by the end of her stay. We will definitely be booking Ebony again and we highly recommend that you book her as well!”

“Ian and his partner Anna (which was disclosed to me before booking) did a superior job watching my two pups. Ian was accommodating to my short notice booking request and was even able to squeeze in a last minute meet n greet. I received plenty of updates while I was away and felt totally at ease. I could tell just from the pictures/ updates that the dogs were given plenty of exercise. I came home to a spotless home and happy/ rested pups. 10 stars to Ian, we look forward to booking him again!”

“Cheryl took wonderful care of my pups - one of whom is 14 and has a few special care needs. She also took great care of the house and had it in wonderful condition when I returned. She stayed in contact with pictures and was easily reachable throughout my trip. Highly recommended!”
“We had a great experience with Stacy sitting our pup Archie in our house over the holiday! Stacy was super responsive and took the time to understand Archie's habits and routine in the house before booking. We loved getting frequent updates and pictures while we were away, we know Archie was getting lots of love and exercise, and we came home to a happy pup and a clean house!”

“Caitlin was wonderful with my two dogs. She was extremely responsive from the start--even before the stay--and communicated often during the stay with pictures and to give updates. One of my dogs has some allergy issues that require as-needed oral medication, and Caitlin was great about reaching out to update me on my dog's symptoms and then giving him the medicine. My dog also has pretty bad separation anxiety. Caitlin was wonderful with him and my dog even warmed up to her after a day or so--he's usually skittish when I'm gone, so that's really saying something!”

About: I've spent my whole life around animals— dogs, cats, snakes, spiders, bunnies, and hamsters. Whether it's a big ol puppy or a senior cat, I’ve cared for them with love and attention. Being with animals comes naturally from a lifetime of training, and I treat every pet like my own. Be prepared for a new nickname for your pet. I work at a business in the French quarter and my schedule is flexible. I can take a long lunch in order to check on pets. I follow all instructions and act as if I'm being watched by the owner in the moment. I was a residential housecleaner for over a decade and appreciated supervision.
“Cody was fabulous! See sent multiple updates while we were away for two weeks and did a solid job taking care of one our pups who had an emergency while we were gone! Will definitely use again.”

“Jared was such a perfect fit for what I needed. My dogs were carefully taken care of, and very well entertained by him. He kept me in the know of anything with the pups and was very attentive to one that needs a little extra for her anxiety. I would highly recommend Jared to anyone, I will for sure be a repeat!”

“I cannot say enough amazing things about Deana! She was so wonderful with our very, very quirky dachshund who was sick with pneumonia, and equally as wonderful with our very shy cat. She was also so incredibly responsive and reliable. She picked up meds at the vet, and made sure they both got everything they needed. She also had to deal with a water leak in our apartment and was on top of everything, and overall just very respectful of our space. She is the absolute best house sitter we have ever had, and she is truly amazing. Thank you Deana 🙏🙏🙏”

“Emily took such great care of our pack (including our senior diabetic cat and senior pup with special needs) and home while we were away. We appreciated the regular updates and adorable photos and felt totally at ease knowing everything and everyone was in great hands. 🥰”
“Karen is THE BEST! She took care of our sweet Bella and our home over the freezing weekend in NOLA. She went above and beyond by making sure our pipes didn’t freeze and our puppy was loved! We didn’t worry at all when we were away since she took care of everything! Can’t say enough about how wonderful she is !!”

“Carly did an amazing job watching my anxious dog, best sitter I’ve ever had! She stayed overnight and sent soo many photos and was very gentle and sweet with my nervous girl. She quickly got her to calm down and I started getting so many cute pictures of them snuggling. I will definitely be asking her to come back again!”

“Macie was great taking care of Ava during the long weekend. She went above and beyond at caring and playing with her. She even took care of the house and did way more than expected. Jessica was incredible and took great care of Roco. It was our first time using Rover and first time we would be leaving our dog at hope for someone to come by and do drop in visits — Jessica was so helpful in navigating the booking and really took such great care of our quirky little pup. Would recommend her to anyone and will definitely be returning.

E was the perfect sitter for our young pup's first overnights without owners. Communicative, attentive to our dog, and navigated our nervousness with ease and confidence. In addition to providing wonderful care for our dog, they left our home in immaculate condition which was greatly appreciated, too. Working with E is great and highly recommended!

Adam has taken care of our beloved cat, Gonzi and stayed at our home many times over the last several years. Once again, they were a wonderful carer and sitter. It was a delight to return home to a very happy cat and a well cared for home. We highly recommend Adam to others. Thank you once again, Adam!

Thank you Stacy for taking care of our dogs as we transitioned to New Orleans! It's been hectic and the dogs have been stressed out and having you available to support us has been wonderful!! I highly recommend Stacy, she's great with our dogs, flexible and very responsive!

I’m not from here, so finding someone I could truly trust with my dogs was a huge deal. From day one, Melissa gave me complete peace of mind. I knew my dogs were loved, safe, and cared for like they’re her own, which makes being away so much easier. Having someone I trust this much is priceless, and I can’t recommend her enough!

Emily was absolutely amazing! She arrived on time, sent photos, asked questions when she noticed Charlee wasn't going potty as usual and communicated consistently and with details! Having just moved to the area, I was nervous with a new sitter, but after this first experience with Emily, I will definitely choose her as my first choice for furbaby care, and hope that she is available! Thank you, Emily!! :))

Anika was ABSOLUTELY amazing. She gave plenty of updates on our girl, i had zero worries about if nova was okay or not bc she loved her girl Anika, they became fast friends! Anika went above and beyond for us and i can’t thank her enough! I actually can’t recommend her enough to anyone who needs their fur babies taken care of! we will definitely rebook with Anika next time we need a sitter!! 10/10 no notes!! We love her!!

Mike has been a excellent communicator with me and my husband since day 1. They stayed with our 2 cats who are a little high maintenance while we were away and we came home the place looking great and 2 very happy cats :) highly recommend!! Thank you Mike! Will definitely be booking with them again.

Cole did a great job pet sitting for our two pups. One is very high energy, which was no trouble for Cole. The other is diabetic and needs insulin. Cole didn't have previous injection experience but was willing to learn and up to the task. We came home to two happy and healthy dogs and would definitely use Cole again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Storyville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Storyville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Storyville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
