Carly did an amazing job watching my anxious dog, best sitter I’ve ever had! She stayed overnight and sent soo many photos and was very gentle and sweet with my nervous girl. She quickly got her to calm down and I started getting so many cute pictures of them snuggling. I will definitely be asking her to come back again!

Rose was an amazing sitter. She was very communicative, flexible, and great with my fur babies. Due to holiday travel changes, I needed to leave earlier than originally expected and get back a day later. She was incredibly flexible and accommodating and was able to meet my extended pet sitting within 24 hours of the request. thank you, Rose for taking such great care of Barnabe and Theo! I will definitely schedule Rose as a sitter in the future.

Alex was amazing! She not only came to the house before to meet Ava so she was comfortable with her, but went above and beyond taking care of her and my home. She kept me informed with how Ava was doing and treated her like her own. She was great and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter, just not on the days I need her :)

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and they’ve always been my favorite kind of company. I’m patient and keep things calm and low-key. I only watch one dog at a time, so you can rest assured that I will treat your dog as if they were my own. Since I work remotely, your dog won’t be left alone much and will get attention throughout the day. I make sure to follow whatever routine helps your dog feel most comfortable. Happy to send you photos and updates throughout the day as well. I’m flexible with pickup and drop off times. I will be with your pup all day, and they’ll get plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s routine. If they’re a high energy dog, they’ll get long walks. If they’re a senior or low energy, I’ll take them on shorter walks or just let them sniff in the yard.

About: I have hands on experience with dog walking, house sitting, and cat sitting, and I’ve also had dogs of my own, giving me a strong understanding of daily care, routines, and pet behavior. I’m reliable, communicative, and detail oriented, making sure your pet stays on their routine and feels comfortable at home. I provide updates, follow instructions closely, and prioritize your pet’s safety and well being at all times. I’m currently a nursing student working part time, but I have a flexible schedule and make time for pet care. With summer break coming up, I’ll have significantly more availability and flexibility throughout the week. I’m available for walks, drop ins, and house sitting. I can accommodate more daytime care during the summer. I’m reliable with scheduling and make sure your pet gets the time, attention, and consistency they need. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every pet. I have experience caring for dogs and understand the importance of proper introductions, routines, and supervision. I will always follow your pet’s routine closely. In a client’s home, I’m respectful, attentive, and make sure your pet feels secure and cared for while you’re away.

About: My father raised and trained dogs so I have been caring for dogs since childhood. I have been personally caring for my own dogs as well as dogs of family and friends for the past seven years. I am medically trained for emergencies and can care for special needs and sick dogs. I will treat your pet with the love and kindness as I do my own. I can be available day and night, weekends and holidays even on short notice. I am hoping to make this a full-time position and will be available seven days a week 24 hours a day and can provide same-day service. I will follow all rules of the home in which I am sitting. About: I have a calm demeanor that appeals to all sorts of animal personalities. In the past i’ve volunteered with Zues' Rescue and I’m generally the go to pet care friend :) I’m a school counselor, so during the school year I am available after school and on weekends. During the summer, I am available 24/7. I can make exceptions if I am on PTO, holidays, etc. I make sure to observe an animals natural routine. Where they like their toys to be, their food dishes, etc. I am especially understanding of animals who may have experienced trauma and have triggers; I make sure to meet them at their level when I approach, speak quietly, etc.

Highly recommend Martha! This was my first time leaving my pup with someone I didn’t know, and she put all my worries to bed after the meet and greet. Sent daily pictures and messages, so I knew my dog was having a nice time :) Very attentive to the details I laid out and responsive to any questions or concerns I had throughout the entire experience and left my house just like it was when she arrived. I would book her again and would easily recommend her to anyone else!

Lydia did a great job with our pets while we were on vacation. She was very timely at sending updates and responding to my questions. She sent pics every day and I could tell she was a strong pack leader for my wild child, Kona. She planned ahead when bad weather was on its way, and put their Kongs with peanut butter in the freezer. Kona is afraid of storms so if she has a treat, she does better. She contacted me at 4 am letting me know she had all the pets in the hallway because there was a tornado warning. Our backyard got hit hard. She took pics of the damage and sent to me so I knew what I was coming home to. I would feel very confident leaving my pets with her again.

We don’t trust just anyone with our dogs or our home, but from the very first time we met Dani, we knew they were in the best hands. She was incredibly communicative right off the bat and took the time to ask about our preferences, even the little things that helped keep the dogs comfortable and on their normal routine. That level of care and attention made such a difference and immediately put us at ease. While we were away, Dani kept in regular contact, sending thoughtful updates and lots of pictures that made it clear our dogs were happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Coming home was such a relief! The house was spotless, everything was exactly as we left it, and our dogs were calm and content (which says everything). Dani is reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring, and it’s clear she treats pets like her own. We are so grateful to have found someone we trust completely and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional pet sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Bridge City

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Bridge City on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 762 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bridge City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bridge City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bridge City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bridge City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bridge City. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
