About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and they’ve always been my favorite kind of company. I’m patient and keep things calm and low-key. I usually watch just one dog at a time, so you can rest assured that I will treat your dog as if they were my own. Since I work remotely, your dog won’t be left alone much and will get attention throughout the day. I make sure to follow whatever routine helps your dog feel most comfortable. Happy to send you photos and updates throughout the day as well. I’m flexible with pickup and drop off times. I will be with your pup all day, and they’ll get plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m happy to adapt to your pet’s routine. If they’re a high energy dog, they’ll get long walks. If they’re a senior or low energy, I’ll take them on shorter walks or just let them sniff in the yard.

“Lily did a wonderful job with my senior, partially deaf, dog, and guinea pig. My dog can be challenging as he can be a bit standoffish, but she got him to warm up. Also, he only gets pain medication when necessary, so it was up to her observation and judgment. My guinea pig requires daily cage cleaning and feeding, in addition to handling my dog's needs.”

“Ayanna was wonderful with my pups! She arrived exactly when she said she would, she sent videos/pictures, and provided detailed updates about walks, meals, etc. Will definitely work with Ayanna again!”

About: I have lots of hands-on experience caring for dogs through dog walking and house sitting, along with having dogs of my own. I’m comfortable with different personalities, routines, and energy levels, and I always want the dogs I care for to feel comfortable and happy while their owners are away. I’m reliable, attentive, and make sure to follow their normal routine as closely as possible. I also love sending updates and pictures so you can feel at ease knowing your dog is being well cared for and getting plenty of love and attention! I’m currently a nursing student working part time, but I have a flexible schedule and make time for pet care. With summer break coming up, I’ll have significantly more availability and flexibility throughout the week. I’m available for walks, drop ins, and house sitting. I can accommodate more daytime care during the summer. I’m reliable with scheduling and make sure your pet gets the time, attention, and consistency they need. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every pet. I have experience caring for dogs and understand the importance of proper introductions, routines, and supervision. I will always follow your pet’s routine closely. In a client’s home, I’m respectful, attentive, and make sure your pet feels secure and cared for while you’re away.

“Cheryl K was a wonderful sitter of my dog and my house. I will trust her again in the future and highly recommend her to anyone in need. She is professional and attentive. She was respectful of my house, leaving it clean and neat and a dog clearly calm and happy. Thank you Cheryl. See you again”

“Alex was such a great help! She was super communicative and always gave me updates without having to ask. She even cleaned and emptied the trash before leaving even though she didn’t need to. I know Rufus was well taken care of and will definitely use her again :)”

“Cody was wonderful taking care of my 10 month old puppy for a week. Cody took him on lots of walks and made sure he had lots of play time. I really appreciate the photos and knowing my pup was in good hands.”

“Olivia just watched our 4 month old puppy Rosie for 10 days over the holidays. She took such amazing care of her, sent us so many cute updates, and really helped to socialize her with other dogs and even some kittens! Will absolutely reach out to Olivia again for help with Rosie - she had so much fun and came back to us tired and happy.”

“Can't say enough about Karen; she was attentive and sent pictures to keep me aware of how my baby was doing. I usually travel with my dog, but that wasn't an option this time. I was hesitant, but all my fears vanished when I saw the first picture! I knew she was in good hands.”

“Missy was excellent! Sbort notice for her to come to our hotel in the French quarter and sit with our foster puppy so we could still enjoy a preplanned date night. Much appreciated and she did a great job”

“What amazed me about Ryan was how organized, knowledgeable and self-sufficient he was. He even took notes at the meet and greet! We quickly concluded that we and our pups were in very good hands!(”

“Jennifer was the absolute best! She was very thorough when we first met. Jennifer gave me updates daily with pictures. She took such great care of our Ruby, 100% will ask her to stay and see watch Ruby again. If you want someone who is very reliable, thorough, caring and devoted to your pet, book with Jennifer!”

About: My connection with animals involves compassion, patience and communication. I have experience taking dogs for walks and home sitting with pets for an extended period. As a college student, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide pet care part-time. I’m generally most available on weekends, with additional availability throughout the week. I prioritize safety, trust, and a comfortable environment for every pet in my care. In a client’s home, I follow their instructions and respect the pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks and any other needs they might have.

“Alexus was fantastic with Stella, very good with communication, and I felt so comfortable knowing someone responsible and enthusiastic was taking care of my sweet girl while I was away. Already booking her again for the next time I’m out of town!”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and fish, and I’ve been pet sitting for family and friends since I was 15. I’m also Cat & Dog CPR certified and a proud cat mama to two sweet cats of my own, Iris & Manu Chao. I’ve worked with several local animal rescue organizations, including the Louisiana SPCA, ARNO, and Trampled Rose Rescue. I also worked at a veterinary clinic for two years and volunteered at a zoo hospital for one year, where I gained hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. I’m comfortable administering medications, giving baths, and attending to the individual needs of different pets. I was originally studying to become a veterinary technician before changing paths to pursue a career as a pharmacy technician, so I’m also very familiar with common medications and understand how important it is to follow instructions carefully and consistently. I’m naturally very attentive to detail and take pride in making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I love going for walks and getting exercise, and having a four-legged companion along for the adventure makes it even better! Whether your pet needs medication, extra patience, a good walk, or simply some loving company while you’re away, I’m happy to give them the care and attention they deserve. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility and availability to care for your pets. I work Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12 PM–6 PM. On those days, I’m available in the mornings from 8 AM–11 AM for walks, feedings, and check-ins, and I’m available again from 7 PM until later in the evening. I am fully available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, giving me plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and extended pet care throughout the day. I’m happy to work with each pet’s individual routine and needs to make sure they receive consistent care and plenty of attention while you’re away. I prioritize safety, trust, and a comfortable environment by following each pet’s routine and their owner’s instructions closely. During walks and drop-in visits, I provide attentive, loving care while respecting their home and making sure their pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I also provide photo and video updates so owners can see how their pets are doing while they are in my care.
“William was terrific. He was very flexible with our times as they changed with family visiting. He was very good with our two retrievers - fed them, walked them and kept an eye on our crazy pup, who gets into everything and tears up our yard when not supervised. I would trust William to house sit our dogs again in an instant. I highly recommend him.”

About: I have pet sat cats and dogs (as well as various reptiles and birds) of all different ages. I have 4 cats and a snake of my own with one cat that takes daily medication. I have fostered cats and assisted in senior pet care (dogs and cats). I also trained 2 of my cats and when we had dogs, I also trained them. I am very experienced with administering medication and caring for pets of different ages! I am happy to take care of your other pets (reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and rodents) in addition to your cats and/or dogs:) Three of my cats are fed twice a day, and my elderly cat gets 4 small meals. I work from home so am able to give my cats plenty of attention. I am fairly flexible with my routine and can easily check in on your pet(s) and walk them 2-3 times a day except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those days I have to be physically at my job so I can only check on your pet(s) in the mornings before 11am and afternoons after 4pm. My cats are treated as equal family members and have a wide range of enrichment within our house: cat trees, toys, a screened in porch, and forage puzzles. Our elderly cat is on daily medication and is showered with compliments (she is a queen and she knows it!) . I spend time every day playing with all of my cats and snuggling them as much as they like. I am incredibly gentle with animals and respect their space. I try my best to maintain a clean, stress-free environment at home and in the homes I pet sit for. I know how stressful it can be for a pet to meet someone new, so I always move at their speed and respect their comfort. Your pet's safety and trust are a top priority, and I will treat them with the care I give my own cats.

Grace was an excellent sitter for my dog Gus while I was away! She was professional and kept me updated with pictures and texts. She provided me with peace of mind knowing my dog was in the hands of a caring sitter. I would recommend her and plan to use her services again!

Lucy is sooooo good with Jolly and Jasper. Jolly literally sleeps at her feet and gets so excited when she comes over to hang with him. You can tell she knows how to love and care for all animals through her caring personality and I will definitely booking my girl again!

Cody was so awesome with our two boys while we were away! They were super communicative and sent lots of updates/photos. Our two cats are very different personality-wise and Cody was amazing with both of them and catered to their individual needs. They also left our place super clean! 10/10 would recommend and we’ll definitely be booking again for our next trip!

Lily did a wonderful job with my senior, partially deaf, dog, and guinea pig. My dog can be challenging as he can be a bit standoffish, but she got him to warm up. Also, he only gets pain medication when necessary, so it was up to her observation and judgment. My guinea pig requires daily cage cleaning and feeding, in addition to handling my dog's needs.

High quality care!! Tamara helped us out last minute and was very communicative! She and went above and beyond! We got regular, detailed updates and she helped us when our trip had to be modified. We would absolutely recommend Tamara for in house pet care of the highest quality!

Emily was absolutely amazing! She arrived on time, sent photos, asked questions when she noticed Charlee wasn't going potty as usual and communicated consistently and with details! Having just moved to the area, I was nervous with a new sitter, but after this first experience with Emily, I will definitely choose her as my first choice for furbaby care, and hope that she is available! Thank you, Emily!! :))

Cole did a great job pet sitting for our two pups. One is very high energy, which was no trouble for Cole. The other is diabetic and needs insulin. Cole didn't have previous injection experience but was willing to learn and up to the task. We came home to two happy and healthy dogs and would definitely use Cole again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Westwego walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Westwego maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Westwego choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
