“Olivia was fantastic! So grateful she was available last minute when I had car troubles coming home from a trip. She was communicative and followed all instructions. Would definitely have her back!”

About: I grew up with dogs at my parents' house and currently care for my own 4-year-old cat, so I'm comfortable with both. I also regularly watch my friends and family’s cats when they're out of town, which means I'm used to following feeding routines and making sure pets feel safe and loved while their owners are away. I'm patient with young pets and attentive to senior care needs too. As a nursing student with a flexible schedule, I can give your pets consistent, reliable attention. Pet care fits easily into my routine since I'm currently unemployed and have a flexible schedule. I'm starting school on August 17th, but outside of classes and studying, I'll still have plenty of availability. I won't be able to work on Fridays or Sundays. Mondays and Tuesdays I'm free around 3pm, and Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays I'm free all day. Just let me know what works best for you! I offer pet sitting and drop-in visits. In your home, I'll follow your routine feeding, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, and any meds. I'll keep things tidy and send updates so you know your pet's doing well. In my home, I'd provide a safe, supervised space with plenty of attention, though I'd focus on pet sitting at your place since I have my own cat. Either way, your pet gets consistent care and love while you're away.

About: Family and friends have trusted me to take care of their fur babies and homes while they're away, by keeping up with their pets' routines and caring for them like they're my own. I bring a calming energy that animals easily take to. I currently care for both dogs and cats. I'm currently in between jobs and doing sitting for friends and family. I have a lot of free time around appointments to provide care, check-ins, and sittings for your pets! While caring for pets at a clients home, I ensure that the pets stay on their routine and get lots of love. I provide reliable care for not only pets but also the homes.
“Missy was excellent! Sbort notice for her to come to our hotel in the French quarter and sit with our foster puppy so we could still enjoy a preplanned date night. Much appreciated and she did a great job”

“I had her pet sit my 2 cats while my boyfriend and I were away. She sent me pictures and followed my instructions really well. I was REALLY happy to come home to 2 healthy and happy cats and I DEFINITELY look forward to using her services for my next trip! ?”

“Lauren was a very reliable and responsive sitter! She kept me updated with plenty of pictures and messages throughout the stay, which I really appreciated. My dogs were well cared for, and I’ll definitely continue booking with her in the future!”

“Megan was fantastic! She took great care of Stewie, and we’d love to book her again. She double checked his medications and gave daily updates/pictures. She was responsive when I checked in and loved on my boy all week. She went above and beyond cleaning up before she left (stripping the sheets off the bed, taking out the trash). I came home to a happy, well-cared-for boy.”

About: I have pet sat cats and dogs (as well as various reptiles and birds) of all different ages. I have 4 cats and a snake of my own with one cat that takes daily medication. I have fostered cats and assisted in senior pet care (dogs and cats). I also trained 2 of my cats and when we had dogs, I also trained them. I am very experienced with administering medication and caring for pets of different ages! I am happy to take care of your other pets (reptiles, amphibians, birds, fish, and rodents) in addition to your cats and/or dogs:) Three of my cats are fed twice a day, and my elderly cat gets 4 small meals. I work from home so am able to give my cats plenty of attention. I am fairly flexible with my routine and can easily check in on your pet(s) and walk them 2-3 times a day except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Those days I have to be physically at my job so I can only check on your pet(s) in the mornings before 11am and afternoons after 4pm. My cats are treated as equal family members and have a wide range of enrichment within our house: cat trees, toys, a screened in porch, and forage puzzles. Our elderly cat is on daily medication and is showered with compliments (she is a queen and she knows it!) . I spend time every day playing with all of my cats and snuggling them as much as they like. I am incredibly gentle with animals and respect their space. I try my best to maintain a clean, stress-free environment at home and in the homes I pet sit for. I know how stressful it can be for a pet to meet someone new, so I always move at their speed and respect their comfort. Your pet's safety and trust are a top priority, and I will treat them with the care I give my own cats.
About: Friends and family have relied on me to take care of their parents since I was a teenager. I am comfortable walking dogs, playing with them, letting them out for bathroom breaks, feeding them, cuddling them, and administering any needed medications, just as I do with my own dog. I am also comfortable taking care of cats. I can change their litter boxes, play with them, feed them, and just hanging out more passively with them or that's what they prefer. I have two cats of my own, with very distinct personalities. I'm currently studying law in New Orleans. I am available for boarding on Fridays after 4:30pm and any time on Saturdays and Sundays. Though my pets are generally friendly with other animals, they can get nervous when there's an intrusion on their space. For that reason, I prefer to care for your pets at your own home, but I am willing to take your dog out to the park where I take my own dog for walks every weekend if you'd like. I do not require written instructions for daytime or nighttime care of cats or dogs, but they can be very helpful if there are certain routines and medications that you would like me to keep up with. For safety reasons, I will not bathe cats, but I will bathe dogs. All dogs will remain on a leash at all times when we are going out for walks, and I will bring poop bags along. I have a dog sling/car seat protector in my car for travel, but if you provide another type of car seat that you prefer, I will use that. If you have a cat, I will clean/change their litter box as frequently as you'd like, on the condition that you provide the litter and other supplies that may be needed. I do also require that you provide dog or cat food yourself, as I do not want to be responsible for any adverse reactions to changes in food, such as allergies or diarrhea. Please message me for any questions that you have.

“Cheryl was great to work with this weekend! She kept in contact and sent pics. My house was just like I left it, and my 3 fur babies were well cared for when I returned. I’ve already booked her for next month.”

About: I’ve always loved animals growing up. I loved them so much I wanted to become a Veterinarian. Even though I did not become that Veterinarian, I still deeply care for animals. With a dream to start my own rescue one day. God willing. Saving all the animals that need the most love and care. I have worked with animals in the past, volunteered for the LASPCA & have been the proud owner of 2 cats and 2 American Pitbull Terriers. I’m the one at the party with the dog instead of the people. I enjoy hanging out with cats and dogs, playing and giving them love and attention they deserve. Pet care fits into my daily/weekly routine because I care for my own dog. I take her for car rides, walks (when it’s not too hot) and giving lots of love. It’s something I look forward to everyday. I currently live in an apartment so I like to take my dog out for rides and long walks to get her exercise. As well as my own steps. I am very good with animals and being able to gain their trust. There’s no dog too big or small, they are all mostly big babies.
“Adia took extra special care of our pups as an in-home sitter for a week long vacation and kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind while we were away. It was clear that our pets were happy, comfortable, and well cared for the entire time. Communication was prompt and friendly, and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”

“Danielle has stayed with our Boxtonians numerous times now. They would rather be with her than with me! 😩 She’s super dependable, keeps me informed, and I’m always able to have a worry-free vacay when Danielle is here. Thank you Danielle!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs/cats of all kinds for 6 years now. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and extend love to their pets. I enjoy meeting new pets and adapting to their needs. I work a full time job myself but adjust so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I know how important it is to show care and love to all pets any time of the day! I have a fenced yard and one dog that’s not even close to harmful. I also have two cats that live a life of their own and cause no bother to anyone. Anything that is requested can certainly be met.

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and fish, and I’ve been pet sitting for family and friends since I was 15. I’m also Cat & Dog CPR certified and a proud cat mama to two sweet cats of my own, Iris & Manu Chao. I’ve worked with several local animal rescue organizations, including the Louisiana SPCA, ARNO, and Trampled Rose Rescue. I also worked at a veterinary clinic for two years and volunteered at a zoo hospital for one year, where I gained hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. I’m comfortable administering medications, giving baths, and attending to the individual needs of different pets. I was originally studying to become a veterinary technician before changing paths to pursue a career as a pharmacy technician, so I’m also very familiar with common medications and understand how important it is to follow instructions carefully and consistently. I’m naturally very attentive to detail and take pride in making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I love going for walks and getting exercise, and having a four-legged companion along for the adventure makes it even better! Whether your pet needs medication, extra patience, a good walk, or simply some loving company while you’re away, I’m happy to give them the care and attention they deserve. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility and availability to care for your pets. I work Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12 PM–6 PM. On those days, I’m available in the mornings from 8 AM–11 AM for walks, feedings, and check-ins, and I’m available again from 7 PM until later in the evening. I am fully available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, giving me plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-in visits, and extended pet care throughout the day. I’m happy to work with each pet’s individual routine and needs to make sure they receive consistent care and plenty of attention while you’re away. I prioritize safety, trust, and a comfortable environment by following each pet’s routine and their owner’s instructions closely. During walks and drop-in visits, I provide attentive, loving care while respecting their home and making sure their pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I also provide photo and video updates so owners can see how their pets are doing while they are in my care.
“Jennifer was the absolute best! She was very thorough when we first met. Jennifer gave me updates daily with pictures. She took such great care of our Ruby, 100% will ask her to stay and see watch Ruby again. If you want someone who is very reliable, thorough, caring and devoted to your pet, book with Jennifer!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Kenner on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 777 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kenner. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kenner walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kenner maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kenner choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kenner. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
