I care for pets in clients’ homes the same way I always hoped people would care for mine: attentively, responsibly, affectionately, and with enormous respect for both the animals and the home itself. I understand that allowing someone into your home and entrusting them with beloved pets requires a tremendous amount of trust. Having spent decades as both a pet owner and homeowner myself, I take that responsibility very seriously. I’m mature, observant, communicative, calm under pressure, and exceptionally conscientious. If something seems off with your pet, your home, or anything else, I will notice it and communicate immediately. I treat your home as I would my own - with care. It helps that I am extremely neat and tidy (maybe a tad OCD when it comes to cleanliness...). And, I am happy to follow any rules or guidelines the client has. As for the animals themselves, I genuinely enjoy being with them. I’m happy to do long walks, slower strolls, playtime, snuggling on the couch, medication routines, keeping to familiar schedules, or simply providing calm companionship and reassurance while you’re away. I know firsthand how much pets thrive on consistency, patience, affection, and a sense of safety. At this stage in my life, I do this because I truly enjoy reconnecting with the joy animals bring to everyday life. I’m not trying to build a huge business or rush through appointments. I simply love animals and enjoy caring for them well.

Pet care experience
My parents had dogs and cats before I was born, so I've literally had animals my entire life. As a young adult living in NYC, I shared a small apartment with two dogs and two cats for nearly 20 years. They were the center of my world, and honestly, the most important things in my life. More than 30 years later, I still dream about them. I’ve always loved animals—every single one. I’ve traveled the world to encounter and marvel at them. I’m the person who will stop at nothing to rescue the baby squirrel, injured bird, or stray dog, and who tries to gently guide the errant bug back outside, even though it completely grosses me out. But beyond loving animals, I'm also a preternaturally mature, responsible adult. I’m 58 (my mom would argue I’ve been 58 since I was five), and I retired early, which means I'm home, unhurried, and genuinely available, aside from taking long walks, swimming, yoga, and social plans. Having spent decades relying on pet sitters and dog walkers myself, I understand firsthand what separates someone adequate from someone truly invaluable. You're not just trusting someone with your pets — you're trusting them with your home, your routines, and the beings you love most in the world. I take that seriously. I'm attentive, observant, communicative, and calm in a crisis. I notice when something seems off in your house, with your pet, or otherwise. At this point in my life, I don't want another pet of my own — the emotional effort and the inevitable heartbreak. What I do want is more animals in my days: the walks, the companionship, the silliness, the comfort. In many ways, I've become the grandparent option — thrilled to love, walk, spoil, and care for your pets wholeheartedly, then hand them back to you exhausted and adored.

Reviews
Five stars, without hesitation. I was a little nervous handing off my dog to someone new, but from the moment I read her profile, I knew she was different and she absolutely delivered. Wendy is someone who has loved animals her entire life, not as a hobby but as a core part of who she is. She's mature, calm, and genuinely pays attention. She noticed little things about my dog that even I sometimes miss, and she kept me updated in a way that felt reassuring without being excessive. You can just tell she's been on the other side of this, she knows what it means to trust someone with an animal you love. What I appreciate most is that she's doing this because she wants to, not because she has to. That comes through in everything. My dog, Ozzy came home happy, tired, and clearly well loved. If you're on the fence, don't be. Your pet is in the very best hands. 🐾
Wendy loves animals as much as I do — and that’s saying something! I’ve witnessed the incredible care and devotion she gave her own fur babies throughout their long lives, with a level of attentiveness and love that few animals are fortunate enough to receive. Having personally relied on pet sitters for her two dogs and two cats, Wendy understands exactly what pet owners hope for and need when entrusting someone with their beloved companions. Throughout several successful careers, Wendy has consistently demonstrated professionalism, responsibility, adaptability, and the ability to think on her feet. Her extensive world travel has only deepened her compassion, curiosity, and understanding of both people and animals. These qualities make her one of the most exceptional people I’ve ever known. Wendy is completely trustworthy, dependable, and capable, putting any worries about leaving your pets in someone else’s care at ease. Medications, schedules, special routines, or unique needs? No problem. Most importantly, she genuinely loves being around animals. She’ll care for your pets with affection, attention, and tenderness as though they were her own. I truly can’t imagine anyone I’d trust more to care for my own pack than Wendy.
I’ve never met someone who loves animals as much as Wendy does. Her warmth, patience, and genuine excitement with my dog Jett gave us real peace of mind and meant the world. Wendy is an exceptional pet mom in every sense. I watched her treat Jett as if she were her own, providing walking routines, plenty of affection, and careful attention to her needs. She consistently went above and beyond to keep her happy, comfortable, and well-loved -- through midday cuddles, playful romps, and a soothing bedtime routine. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and dependable caregiver who will treat your pet like family, Wendy is the perfect choice. I wholeheartedly recommend her.
