About: My family has had at least one dog in our house since I was born. Everybody in my family has dogs. I have a few family members that rely on me to help them with their dogs when they need it. Everyone in my family treats their pets like they are humans and I do just the same! I am currently in between jobs so I’m available pretty much whenever. I do have my own dog at home so I prefer to not stay somewhere for a long, extended period of time. I am pretty flexible with that though so just ask me and I’ll let you know if it’s doable! I have a fenced in yard. I have a 14 year old rescue that just mainly stays to herself. There is a 1 year old Shih Tzu/Yorkie mix now living here as well, under the care of someone else that’s not me, however she is very rambunctious with other dogs. I do not mind walking them around the neighborhood. In my family, we treat our dogs like they are humans and they are like our children!
About: I have 2 dogs, a boxer named Goose that is a rescue and a lemon beagle. I love all animals and I will treat your dog or cat like it’s my own. I have a very flexible schedule. Im employed under contract basis and I’m working on a special project is which allows for very flexible availability. I’m available for feedings, play time, long walks or just to spend time with your animal. I love to cuddle or play indoors or outdoors
“Celeste is lovely!! My girl, Lemon, gets anxious around new people, but Celeste is extremely gentle and patient, and Lemon came around and enjoyed her walk and company. 10/10 will definitely be utilizing her again!! She is so helpful and amazing :)”

“Elizabeth was a fantastic babysitter our big golden retriever pup while we were out of town. She was in constant contact with us, sent plenty of pictures and updates about their romps, meal breaks, water breaks etc. And she kept the house spotless. I will most definitely use her services again. Thanks Elizabeth!”

“I couldn’t be happier with my first experience with Olivia on Rover. From the start, she was communicative, punctual, and clearly passionate about caring for dog. My pup enjoyed every moment of the walk and came home tired and content. The detailed updates and friendly demeanor made all the difference. I highly recommend Olivia’s services!”

“Wow! I am so impressed with Mimi! She is a doggie angel! I was soooo nervous on her first day walking my sweet Bowman. But she put all my fears to rest and sent me pics and a synopsis of his walks. She spends quality time and is very attentive to Bowman Thank you so much for taking care of our fur baby! We really appreciate you :-)”
About: ---> Sorry, I do NOT accept most spunky, young dogs Over 30 pounds. Most of the small pets I care for cannot physically handle playing with most dogs over 30 pounds. There's no setting for that weight on Rover. (Unless your pet is an elder and/or they're very mellow) <--- My name is Melissa (aka. "Missy"). I'd like to care for your precious pet the next time you need some help. Do you have somewhere to go, or something to do? Let me help you, at your place or mine!?! You can book your pet for a caring, one hour, drop-in visit to your home, a few overnight visits, or an extended stay at my house. Do you need help at the last minute ... ? No problem. I'm happy to provide pet transportation, if needed. I can also help you fulfill the rules & requirements at a "Pet-Friendly" NOLa hotel, when the rules say, “you cannot leave your pet in the hotel room alone”. I work from home as a bookkeeper & tax consultant - This means your precious pet will NEVER be left alone for long hours, whenever they're in my care. I will be at your pet's side, while you take care of business or if you have a fun get-away planned. I’m very comfortable with many different animals & dog breeds, including elderly dogs that need a mellow, safe space with calm, gentle care. I pay close attention to what your dog likes & dis-likes, along with their personality quirks & individual needs. I enjoy caring for all animals, both young & old. I do not accept more than 2-3 dogs at a time. ((I USUALLY only schedule ONE family's pet(s) at the same time, especially if there’s a new dog client)). I always put in a great deal of consideration, before scheduling more than one family's pet at the same time. My home is very spacious, clean, well-organized & safe. I have a large, gated/enclosed & secure, backyard. The dogs that stay with me are ALWAYS supervised. My eyes will be on your pet constantly, while we play at your home or mine, both inside & outside. Allow me to love & care for your precious pet, while you take care of you. Let's discuss your needs. I do offer one free meet & greet. Other than dogs, I also have experience caring for: Cats, Birds, Bunnies, Turtles, Lizards, Snakes, Hamsters, Fish, Frogs, Chickens & Plants. Most of my pet guests are small, therefore any extra frisky, playful pet, over 30 pounds may cause physical harm, even if they are just playing. I'd rather not take that chance. I work from home as a bookkeeper & tax consultant. I’m rarely away from the house for more than 2-3 hours. I will always keep my eyes on your pet, even when the pet is roaming around the backyard. My backyard has a 9 ft. high, wooden fence. I also have a double gated entry, front-yard patio. I can also provide crates if needed. My 20 pound dog is 8yrs. old and he is very mellow & well behaved. He always welcomes another dog friend, anytime. We have a trusted routine for introducing new pet guests.

About: I’ve been a dedicated pet owner for several years and know how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family members. I’ll respect your home, follow any special care instructions, and provide regular photo and message updates so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
“Julia was wonderful when caring for our dog Freya! Our girl is very shy and nervous around strangers and Julia helped her to feel more comfortable and less anxious. I appreciated the updates of how Freya was doing as well as the adorable pictures she sent! I will definitely recommend Julia to our friends and family and anyone in need of a reliable and professional pet sitter.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life growing up! I got my first on cat (Katniss) as a freshman in college, and she is now 12 years old and thriving well! I got my first dog (Albus) the next year and he is a 106 pounds black lab who is also doing very well. I am a teacher so I am off from June-July 20 all day, every day. I can show up on short notice and stay for extended periods if needed! My schedule for the next 2 months is extremely flexible, and I’m willing to work with your schedule as well! I have a dog and a cat of my own, so I’m very experienced caring for multiple pets in a home environment. I have a condo in Metairie a block from the levee where I can take a dog on a good walk, and my parents house in mandeville with a fenced yard where pets can safely play and get fresh air. I can easily crate your dog or cat if needed, follow any specific feeding, medication, or routine instructions, and provide plenty of love, attention, and enrichment. Whether the service is at my home or yours, my goal is always to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away.
About: Hey there- I’m Diana and I have always loved animals from the bottom of my heart. I am a Rover sitter and use Rover for sitters for my own pets when I’m out of town, so I personally understand the significance of trusting a sitter with your animals. It’s never easy to leave the fur babies at home, and so I do everything I can to make them comfortable and loved till you’re reunited. I’m good at juggling responsibilities and remembering small details, which makes my care attentive to the unique needs and personality of each pet. I choose to do pet sitting and walking because I can’t have as many of my own pets as my heart desires. I would be happy to care for your furry one and spend genuine time ensuring they are having the best time in my presence! Thank you for trusting me with your sweet family and I know we will have a great time. I work from home right now doing program management for local nonprofits, so I can be flexible with caring for your pets with some notice. I don’t mind early morning or late night care. We are newer to New Orleans and enjoy getting to know different neighborhoods. I take notes of all the details you share about your home and care for your animals to make sure I have a thorough understanding of their needs and usual routines, and anything to be cautious about.
About: Since I was 7 years old, my family has loved two golden retrievers in our home in a town of Los Angeles. Rocky, our hyper and enthusiastic 1st one, was with us since I was 5 years old, and Spencer, the 2nd one I took care of, was a sweet senior dog who stayed in my family home until 2022 when he passed. My close friends and neighbors have relied on our family as the designated pet sitters for them because we love and respect dogs so much! We always think of our house as a mini dog-hotel during those times. With these experiences growing up, Rover has become the perfect place for me to help others with caring for their dogs in New Orleans. I am happy to walk/feed/bathe your pets whenever you request it too! I am currently studying for an exam for medical school. I would be happy to take study breaks as an opportunity for myself AND your pup to get some sunshine. I will be present with the dogs and take care of them to make sure your pups are happy. I like to keep my eye on dogs I’ve dogsat before, and I will be in contact if there’s anything unusual going on. I’ve let my dogs roam about the house, but if you prefer to keep them in an enclosed area, please let me know! Taking them for frequent walks or to the park is always nice too!

Lori was prompt, and very communicative! She was so great meeting my timid little Shelby, and gave me great insight and resources for some future dog training. I would highly suggest her for anything in the future with people who are looking for a kind and communicative dog walker.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
