“Raj is an excellent dog sitter. Raj easy going, paying attention to detail and accommodating. Raj kept sending pictures and updates throughout the stay. Will book again, no doubt.”

“Tanvi is super star host. We left Sailor with her for three days. He was very happy and relaxed during his stay and we received daily pic and video update everyday. Knowing your pup is happy while you are away, is a great feeling. I would definitely choose her again and recommend her to other pet parents.”

“Bubbles had an excellent stay with Kate. He really enjoyed playing with her kids and other dogs. We really appreciated all the photos, videos, and updates she sent and the fact that she allowed him on the furniture and bed.”

“Another great experience with Max and his family! Tucker had a great time, loved his walks, watching soccer games, and playing with the girls! I know he is happy and well taken care of when he is with them! We would not hesitate to have Tucker stay with Max again. It’s so nice to know that we don’t have to worry about our pup when we are out of town. Hopefully in the near future Tucker can visit with them again exclamation I think he already misses all of you!”

“Extremely happy with the care provided by Jalisa and her family of my furbaby Mya! She was treated like she was their very own and my Mya reciprocated 😊 Jalisa provided daily reports and photos without me even asking & my girl looked happy! Will definitely book with Jalisa & family again!”

“I was so glad that I found suna on Rover last minute. suna and her husband took such great care of Charlie and I felt at ease during my entire vacation, knowing that Charlie was in good hands . They kept me updated daily and send pictures. I was so happy to see Charlie getting so much love and attention.”

“Our dog had an enjoyable time. Savi asked many questions to ensure that he keeps as close to his usual routine as possible. She also accommodated our drop off and pick up times easily.”

“If they had 10 stars I would give them to Meaghan. She is amazing. We left our havapoo Milo for 8 days with her. After seeing her reviews and meeting her we felt super confident and rightfully so. Milo had a great time. Her family is super dog friendly, loving, caring and genuinely want your dog to be comfortable not just watch him. The photos she sent were not just a snap shot but him doing the things he likes , like staring out a window(like he does at home) , sleeping in her husband's office while he works (like he does with me in mine), to running in the yard and playing with their dog. She gave our dog a home for 8 days not a kennel or doggie daycare(not knocking them) but this is different. I can't speak for other Rover sitters but Meaghan made a customer for as long as she wants to do this. Great person, great family, great dog sitters.. Thanks Meaghan for everything.”

“Namrata is great in taking care of my Bichon. She sent me picture every day and updates me on my dog's status. My dog usually does not eat at stranger's place, but at her house, she ate everything and slept well. My dog was able to cuddle with them and play with them everyday. I feel that my dog had a vacation while I was one vacation. Namrata is the person to go to for dog sit while I am away. Thanks for the great service.”

“Lori was incredible with our puppy, Frank! He was extremely anxious and challenging this trip, but she handled him with such patience, calmness, and care. It was clear she has a lot of experience and knows how to make dogs feel safe and comfortable. She kept us updated throughout his stay and gave us real peace of mind.”

“First of all we’re so glad Brandon was able to accommodate our last minute booking. Another thing is that our little corgi Benny felt right at home because 1. We live in the same complex ? and 2. Because of his Shiba Inu Milo! We’ve only had Benny for 20 days and he’s been crate trained as he’s still teething and chewing up stuff, as well as he wasn’t fully potty trained yet. After staying with Brandon for two nights, on his first night back with us, Benny was finally able to sleep outside of the crate, calm, not anxious, no accidents, and quiet as well!”

“This was our first time leaving Mya with anyone. We felt very comfortable leaving her with Elina. She was very flexible with our drop off time when we needed to leave a day early and also with pickup when our flight was delayed. She also sent us a video and picture after we dropped her off, which put us at ease. We would definitely use Elina again to watch Mya.”

“Anish was absolutely amazing with our dog Max. Having being a long term dog owner, he knew all about how to handle our dog Max . I felt at ease from the time Max was dropped off till the time we picked Max up. Anish took the extra effort to make sure Max was taken for walks even in the pouring rain, and give him plenty of exercise and company. Max returned home happy, rested & well exercised. I highly recommend Anish to take care of your pet, its their home away from home.”

Our boys loved their time at Lenny's! Lenny was very welcoming to both our senior dog and our young puppy, and made us feel at ease leaving them for the first time. Lenny sent us pictures when out on walks and they genuinely seemed to be having a great time. They seemed to feel right at home! We would definitely consider boarding with Lenny in the future.

This was our first time leaving Leo. We were very anxious of how Leo would cope with the separation. Dhara and family took extremely good care of him and provided us with constant updates. They gave him timely meals and walked him. They treated Leo as they would treat their own. I would without any hesitation leave Leo with the family and not have second thoughts about it.
Marsha and her husband Harold took such good care of my Dante. It was his first time there and being that he’s a senior dog I was worried he would have a difficult time in a new surrounding, but Marsha made sure to ask me a lot of questions in order to get to know my dog. She sent frequent pics and when I picked him up he seemed very happy and well cared for. I highly recommend them

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
