“Tao has a calm confidence that puts both people and pets at ease. During our dog’s 9-night stay, Tao provided us with daily photo and video updates. And lucky dog, she got to swim in the pool! Thank you, Tao!”

“Tom was great! He’s very friendly and worked well with our dog Lyla! He gave great feedback on her stay so we weren’t worried about our dog at all! I’d highly recommend Tom!”

“I couldn’t be happier with the care Radwa provided for my Frenchie Ramsay. She was attentive, loving, and kept me updated with quick responses. Ramsay loved her and her children right away. My dog came back happy and did not want to leave. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a trustworthy and caring sitter. 5 Star all around.”

“Lisa and her family did a wonderful job watching our dog while we were away. We received daily pictures and updates. We were so relieved to know Buddy was in good hands! We will definitely be taking Buddy back sometime!”

“Brandon took great care of my dog Aari! It was a pretty last minute booking on my end but Brandon was very flexible and asked great questions to get to know Aari before we dropped him off. Aari seemed very comfortable with Brandon!”

“Sam is amazing! Our dog has the best time at her house, and we can always tell she is so well cared for and truly treated like part of the family. We get wonderful pictures every day showing our dog happy, exercised, and loved, which gives us so much confidence and peace of mind while we’re away. We’re so grateful to have found Sam - I’m sure our dog Sophie is too!”

“Lenny was very warm and welcoming. She took good care of Oreo and kept me posted with daily activities with messages, pictures and videos. Oreo was very happy. Will definitely keep Oreo with Lenny again!”

“This was my first reservation eith Chastidy. I was nervous because it was for an extended duration. When reviewing Chastidys profile and photo if her dog, I was assured she would be a good fit for my American Bully. A quick meet and greet confirmed this. Over the 9 days Chastidy was very responsive, sending photos and updates. All dogs have free reign of the large fenced in back yard. Most importantly, when picking up my pup he was happy. That is the ultimate test for me.”

“This was our first time leaving Teddy for an extended stay with anyone outside our home and from start to finish we felt reassured and confident that our dog was in the best hands! Anmol & Trupti loved our dog as if he was their own! Frequent texts and pictures were so appreciated and we cannot thank them enough for caring for Teddy!”

“Another great stay! We were delayed in picking up our dog but she was very understanding! Her commentary and pictures about our dog's stay make us very comfortable that he's well taken care of. She's always our go to caretaker!”

“This was my first time letting my dog overnight board anywhere— and it was the best experience for both me and him. Jessica took us in very last minute and was communicative the whole time. I was states away, yet I always knew what my dog was doing and I got so many pictures of him smiling. Would 100% recommend!”

“Dhara and her family were friendly and caring hosts for our little man Mr. Darcy. That includes their pooch “Coco” who was playful and not territorial with a visiting doggie scampering around the house. Dhara sent plenty of updates and photos during Mr. Darcy’s visit as of an upcoming longer stay. The stay could not have gone better, and we’re very confident and comfortable leaving Mr. Darcy in the caring hands Dhara and her family going forward. Its clear that they’re “dog people” who care.”

About: My home was set up for an 80lb dog with a fenced in yard and areas around the house. Should be very comfortable for any dog. I’m very attentive to the pets, making sure their needs are met and that they are safe and sound. When I take on a job, my schedule is pretty cleared out for it since I’m a retired person. I can schedule my time around the care of your pet. I care for pets in my home by keeping an eye on them. Taking them out into the fenced yard and walking them twice a day. If they like to play fetch or tug I’ll do that with them too. I keep them fed, watered, exercised and rested.
“What a great experience! We’ve already decided we’ll be using Elias again in the future. Our pup was so relaxed at drop off (which is not common) and came home tired, but calm. From start to finish it was a great experience and I highly recommend!”

“I would highly recommend Kayla and her family. She was affordable, friendly, reliable, Professional, and kind. Ace had a great time. Her daughters were so polite and met me at the car and helped me carry everything in. She sent photographs of a string, his stay. I am so glad that I found her”

Catherine was wonderful with Pippa! She was incredibly kind and thoughtful, and kept us updated throughout her stay, which gave us great peace of mind. We could tell Pippa was in great hands, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with Catherine again. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience with Savi. She took wonderful care of my dog, treated him with genuine love, and made him feel completely at home. Her communication was always timely and thoughtful, and her friendly nature made the whole process stress‑free. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly caring pet sitter.

Marsha and her husband Harold took such good care of my Dante. It was his first time there and being that he’s a senior dog I was worried he would have a difficult time in a new surrounding, but Marsha made sure to ask me a lot of questions in order to get to know my dog. She sent frequent pics and when I picked him up he seemed very happy and well cared for. I highly recommend them
We left our Husky Bella with Anne for 12 days and we don’t have any complaints or problems! We love the way she care for our dog! Bella had a great time with her lovely Husky, I recommend 100% her care service! She was always sending me pictures and keeping me updated about Bella! Bella had so much fun, she played a lot! I would definitely rebook with her next time !

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
