“Megan (and Jay) were just simply awesome. They took great care of Apollo, who needs medication and is a picky eater. Megan sent pics and video updates every day which got shared with the family while on vacation. Everyone looked for the daily Apollo update. They did a great job with Apollo and recommended some food choices for him. Apollo did well with them, which was great since he rarely has been left with someone outside of the family. We will definitely trust them to watch Apollo again. Many Thanks to this outstanding dog sitting couple.”

“Kristen was an absolute gem to work with! She sent me pictures of my dog everyday and was very responsive. My dog had an excellent time and seemed to be taken care of very well!”

“Very happy with Savi! This was my first time leaving my dog Zola anywhere. She started with day care and then spent almost a week with Savi. I was updated daily with photos and videos. I knew Zola was in great hands. Leaving your dog at a new place can be anxiety-provoking for both owner and dog, but I actually felt calm and reassured with Savi. Highly recommend!”

“We received daily pictures and updates, any specific instructions/guidance we had for our dog's care was heeded. Kiana is super friendly, responsive and responsible and our dog loves her Aunty Kiana. We would not hesitate to rely on her to watch and care foe our dog again!”

“I'm delighted to be Amber's first review, as this sit was magnificent!! Amber and her family came through for me for a last-minute, same-day holiday (4th of July) booking, and they were great from start to finish! Very friendly, helpful, responsive, and flexible and seemed to attend well to my Sienna -- following my various tips and even going lengths to ensure, with her being an older dog, that she wouldn't be out in the heat during walks for too long and was protected by the outside fireworks that first night! Amber also shared some text and picture updates throughout the stay, and her and her husband for were very reassuring both during drop-off and pickup regarding Sienna's care. They were so great that I ended up extending the sit to an extra day, originally scheduled for just one, and they were very accommodating in my doing so. Sienna seemed to like them well, and I think they liked her -- I definitely would book again whenever we're back in this area again!!”

“Maureen was an incredible dog sitter who treated our 2 dogs like family from the moment they met. Communication was excellent, with prompt updates and photos that gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Our dogs came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well loved. Maureen is reliable, caring, and truly passionate about animals, we highly recommend to anyone.”

“My hubby is working in the area. I flew in from GA to visit him, so that we could drive to Canada to celebrate our 10th anniversary. He travels with our dog and we needed a safe home away from home while we travel. Ivelisse was great with our fur baby! Love had just been diagnosed with a UTI and she was very attentive, even giving us helpful recommendations on how to prevent further ones. She sent regular updates and we could tell that Love enjoyed the stay as well. We are thankful that Ivelisse was able to accommodate us on such short notice. Thanks for treating our dog like family! We definitely recommend her and would use her again!”

“Chelsea was fabulous. From the initial meet and greet to pick-up, Chelsea was professional and provided prompt updates. I enjoyed getting pix throughout the week, too! My 2 dogs looked so happy. I’m looking forward to using Chelsea again and I will happily spread the word to my friends to use her.”

“Dhara and her family were friendly and caring hosts for our little man Mr. Darcy. That includes their pooch “Coco” who was playful and not territorial with a visiting doggie scampering around the house. Dhara sent plenty of updates and photos during Mr. Darcy’s visit as of an upcoming longer stay. The stay could not have gone better, and we’re very confident and comfortable leaving Mr. Darcy in the caring hands Dhara and her family going forward. Its clear that they’re “dog people” who care.”

“I highly recommend Darin and McKenna as pet sitter! Our two dogs just spent a week at their place, and it truly felt like they were on their own luxury vacation. From the start, Darin and McKenna were incredibly attentive to every detail and specific need our pups had. They didn’t just "watch" our dogs; they genuinely befriended them and invested a lot of personalized time and affection into making them feel at home. What impressed us most was their dedication during a particularly tough week of heavy snow. Despite the weather challenges, they remained completely unfazed and stayed "up to the task," ensuring our dogs were safe, pampered, and happy throughout the storms. If you are looking for sitters who are responsible, caring, and go the extra mile, Darin and McKenna are the best choice. Our dogs can’t wait to go back!”

“Karen was incredible with our dog! She sent photos and updates throughout the visit. She took our dog to the dog park daily and gave her tons of attention and love. Our dog was very happy! I cannot recommend her enough! We will definitely use her in the future!”

“Our two senior dogs, ages 13 and 15 have special needs. This will be our third time having Michelle and Dan watch over them as we traveled and the experience has been fantastic! They received wonderful care and lots of love and attention. We received regular updates during our trip and we're thrilled with the care they received. Thank you so much Michelle and Dan! 💗🐕🐕💗”

“We’re lucky to have our dog stay with Brandon! Brandon is very caring ! He sends us daily updates and pics of my dog. And our dog got along well with Malo too. We really appreciate that Brandon took good care of our dog. Highly recommended! We definitely will rebook !”

“Absolutely great experience! My pet was very well taken care of and was happy at Samhitha's home for over a week. She was very professional and on top of communication. It was a pleasure to see daily updates on how he was enjoying the boarding time. I was absolutely worry free and I can't thank you enough! I highly recommend Samhitha if you are looking for an experienced and caring sitter for your pet.”

“Our pup had a great stay. We received daily photo updates that were reassuring and made us very comfortable with his time with Tao. Very professional and it’s obvious that they love dogs and take great care of them. Thank you!”

About: Hi there! I grew up having dogs and cats in my house and along my life I had one two stray cats, one German shepherd, one Bichon and now I have a mini Shih Tzu. I know how to take care of dogs and cats and even more, I actually enjoy doing that. I work from home during weekdays and in the days where I need to be at work I usually do not take care of animals, just to avoid any issues. I like to dedicate full attention when I have a furry friend around. I live in a 2 rooms apartment so one room can be decimated for your friend to stay in while you are away. I will ensure you get all the pictures, videos and messages you need to make sure he/she is okay
“Kyla took care of Leo on short notice and kept in touch with updates while we were away. Leo seemed very happy and relaxed the whole time. We really appreciated her communication and care!”

“I have a 12 yr cockapoo who requires daily medication. Noria has been our overnight sitter since April 2024. She only takes one dog in addition to her own sweet Milo. Noria is incredibly kind, smart, professional, loves dogs and has a gentle/loving way in interacting with my Kobe. She has been truly a blessing to find! My family and I are assured that when we leave Kobe for an overnight with Noria that he is being cared for as if he is part of her family. Kobe can be an anxious dog and slow to warm up to people. She has a patient and playful disposition. From the first time he met her he was happy, calm and it was evident that he felt secure in her care. The medication and feeding instructions have always been followed and understood. We appreciate the photos she sends and the updates as to how he is doing. Noria is a genuine individual who has been a complete joy for our family to work with. We are so happy that she has been caring for Kobe. When we go away we know he looks forward to his time with Noria and Milo!”

“Debi did an amazing job with my dog. Between following directions on my specific feeding patterns to giving regular updates (text/photo/video), to giving her good engagement and a safe environment to explore, I would absolutely advocate for anyone to use Debi as a sitter. My puppers came back happy, tired, and safe.”

Mitzy has been a repeat customer with Mary for a while now. We had an especially long trip out of the country and Mary had to deal with Mitzy's health issues that came up during it. She handled it with so much care and it really gave us peace of mind while we were away. Can't recommend Mary highly enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
