“Freya had such a great time with Kim! The photo updates were great, and I could tell that Freya LOVED having access to a fenced-in backyard. She can't wait to come visit again!”

“Absolutely great experience! My pet was very well taken care of and was happy at Samhitha's home for over a week. She was very professional and on top of communication. It was a pleasure to see daily updates on how he was enjoying the boarding time. I was absolutely worry free and I can't thank you enough! I highly recommend Samhitha if you are looking for an experienced and caring sitter for your pet.”

“Renee was an amazing dog sitter. We were very nervous about dropping our dog off for someone strange to watch ber. Mopsy was treated as a person and not a dog. Renee left wonderful detail messages and sent pictures. We were comforted that our Mopsy was being loved. I highly recommend Renee!!!”

“Jolanta was the perfect sitter for our nervous puppy. She has a beautiful home with a fenced backyard, and our puppy loved getting to play with another dog during the stay. Jolanta sent great photos and videos and has such a warm, knowing way with dogs. It was clear our puppy had a wonderful time, and I recommend her with utmost confidence.”

“Pam is the best - elvis is happy every single time he’ goes to her house to board ….she’s very very good at communication and looking after his needs. We always go back to her.”

“We had such a great experience leaving Bruno in Raj’s care for the night! From the start, him and his wife were incredibly communicative in sending us regular updates, pictures, and even videos that gave us total peace of mind. It was clear our pup was having a blast and being very well taken care of. Their dog Kaju was great company for our dog Bruno. They were also extremely knowledgeable about dogs and handled everything with confidence and care.. Bruno got plenty of playtime, attention, and love, and we could tell he felt comfortable and happy the entire time. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Raj again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy, experienced, and caring dog sitter!”

“Debi did an amazing job with my dog. Between following directions on my specific feeding patterns to giving regular updates (text/photo/video), to giving her good engagement and a safe environment to explore, I would absolutely advocate for anyone to use Debi as a sitter. My puppers came back happy, tired, and safe.”

“Megan is great. She’s very responsive and made the whole process extremely easy. She gave text and picture updates so we never worried how our Chase was doing. After we picked him up, he was exhausted the rest of the day from all the fun he had with the other dogs. We could tell he really enjoyed his time there. We’re so happy we found someone we trust with our dog. Thank you so much!”
“We have used Amy several times, she replies quickly and has been very pleasant and flexible to work with when dates had to be changed. She took great care of Shadow and sent photos. Shadow is happy to go back to Amy and have fun playing at with her pups.”

“I have a 12 yr cockapoo who requires daily medication. Noria has been our overnight sitter since April 2024. She only takes one dog in addition to her own sweet Milo. Noria is incredibly kind, smart, professional, loves dogs and has a gentle/loving way in interacting with my Kobe. She has been truly a blessing to find! My family and I are assured that when we leave Kobe for an overnight with Noria that he is being cared for as if he is part of her family. Kobe can be an anxious dog and slow to warm up to people. She has a patient and playful disposition. From the first time he met her he was happy, calm and it was evident that he felt secure in her care. The medication and feeding instructions have always been followed and understood. We appreciate the photos she sends and the updates as to how he is doing. Noria is a genuine individual who has been a complete joy for our family to work with. We are so happy that she has been caring for Kobe. When we go away we know he looks forward to his time with Noria and Milo!”

“Kristen provided loving care for my 15 yr old Beagle, while also following instructions with his food plan and meds. Additionally, she provided lots of stimulating activities for this little sniffer, including her own little chihuahua, Cashew, and other little boarding doggies. (My little guy gets more stimulation in her apartment than he gets from me!) While Kristen is a great boarder, for my occasional trips away, I am now considering her as a day care provider too. And she is very accommodating and understanding of trip delays, as well. Will be sure to book with Kristen again soon. (Her own little baby boy loves dogs too).”
“Our dog Trey had a great weekend at Tao’s house! He came home happy and tired. The backyard is perfect & spacious and we appreciate all the ball play during his stay. Communication was easy and we really appreciated the videos and photos. Fantastic experience all around!”

“Ryan did a great job with Spenser. Daily outings, regular updates, and plenty of photos, we always knew our dog was in good hands. When our trip ran four days longer than planned, Ryan didn't skip a beat. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog. Would recommend him to any dog owner without hesitation.”

“We’re lucky to have our dog stay with Brandon! Brandon is very caring ! He sends us daily updates and pics of my dog. And our dog got along well with Malo too. We really appreciate that Brandon took good care of our dog. Highly recommended! We definitely will rebook !”

“I had a great experience with Ivelisse! She took excellent care of my dog and made me feel at ease while I was away. She was very responsive to communication and always quick to reply to any questions or check-ins. I especially appreciated the regular updates, including texts and pictures.”

“Meena & her husband took very good care of our 8 month old pup. She was updating us with messages and pictures throughout the day and went out of her way to care for him. We were at peace of mind seeing the pictures & updates throughout his stay. Highly recommend her!”

Mitzy has been a repeat customer with Mary for a while now. We had an especially long trip out of the country and Mary had to deal with Mitzy's health issues that came up during it. She handled it with so much care and it really gave us peace of mind while we were away. Can't recommend Mary highly enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
